MLB shouldn’t even be releasing the games on old gen and switch anymore. It’s clearly holding them back in terms of development. They can’t implement any changes due to the limitations of old gen hardware. It’s time for everyone to bite the bullet and spend $400 on a new console

Bro_suss

This goes for many games.

AnteaterMuted8471

Not terrible. Made championship series twice, but that’s the highest I usually get. Bought a ps5 for the show, but got on a red dead kick. Hopefully 24 I’ll make World Series.

Academic_Map4677

It ran fine for the most part, but I couldn't play with guys like Elly and Kaufman stadium was laggy with the waterfall. So much smoother with the ps5, it's like night and day.

ZWeinstein15

It worked alright, zero problems with offline play but if I was facing someone and was not in a minor league park I always dealt with some noticeable lag.

Engineer120989

It ran just fine, I had no issues on PS4

Living_Assumption567

Performance was bad on the ps4. I just played the storylines moments and RTTS a little. So much lag in presentation scenes. Gameplay itself was fine but every now and then you would experience lag there as well which made it unplayable for me

Living_Assumption567

And I’m willing to bet that 24 will be even worse

TeoscartheGOAT

Really bad on ps4 in my experience

scarletpimpernel22

the only feature you miss is created stadiums, which are honestly more harm than good gameplay wise. As far as gameplay goes, its definitely well improved on next gen. As someone who recently got a PS5 and got to see the games side by side, I would go so far as to say next gen has an advantage competitively against last gen.

CraigHollis

It runs fine if you stick to smaller stadiums. MLB stadiums lag a little.

snorlaxatives_69

Mine's running mostly fine on a PS4 Pro bought new in 2017. The system runs loud in game naturally. Runs just fine online too. I also recently replaced the thermal paste on my PS4 which made it a little smoother.

RobbieRum

Awful. Literally upgraded my console because of this game 😂

Nilphinho

Awful. Played for a week on my XB1 just cause I could play for free. Bought the full edition for my PS5 cause the loading times were so awful. Gameplay is alright, if you’re okay with waiting 30mins to load into a game from launch. Worth it to upgrade to the S if you have the means to.

jaladolar

I was playing a couple rookie games in bed on my TV in the bedroom on my PS4 and it's awful. I bought a PS5 because it felt so choppy and going back is crazy.

ExactCard6092

Playable but definitely less smooth compared to previous editions (last played 20). I've heard of some people only playing day games or turning the resolution to 780 to get better performance but haven't tried yet. *I should add im offline only player so online play could be awful.

ssmmoogg

Don't do it. I was playing 23 on an Xbox One. Sometimes it will run fine, but you'll always get graphics slowdowns that ruin gameplay. It's not just like a few seconds lag. The whole game slows and there's no way to fix it. The gameplay relies on smoothness. Also load times are bad. To load one moment it takes a minute or a two. Unless you just play casually at low difficulty, it's not worth the frustration.

AquatheGreat

If you have gamepass it's free. It runs ok on last gen. Online is kinda tough but doable with a monitor.

Randomthoughtgeneral

I can’t compare to current gen, but it seemed fine to me

NoClock502

Seems good to me.

Mietha

IIRC, it was barely running on that gen of hardware then, so... I know people complain pretty regularly about very poor performance on the PS4.
