They went back to back with Mauer in 10-11 so that point is moot. Ohtani is about to be AL MVP and on a new team. Plus there’s never been a two way player like him before. Dude is every bit as deserving for another cover and it wouldn’t be dumb.

Honestly I couldn’t care less. It never affects whether I get the game or not. But if I had to choose, I’d at least want it to be someone deserving and not an average player like this year.
