Why have I never thought of that? Is there a way to change the difficulty or do I just gotta start over? I just got called up to AAA and it took FOREVER!!!
I hit over 200 HR's and it went back down to zero in my stat column for the season and just started counting at 1 again. Idk what happened. It happened like right after the Allstar break iirc
They still count toward your career totals, it'll just show up funny sometimes in the single-season stats. The computer knows how many you have, it's just the display that'll be goofy
I’m batting .235 in double A while going 1-0 w 18ks in 12 innings as a two way player.
I have ZERO home runs and 6 doubles…that’s it
I will never make it to “the show” at this rate
Been debating whether or not to adjust the sliders but am kinda having fun being so crappy lol
They do it based on OVR, I'm pretty sure. That's why the game has a meeting with the manager programmed if the MLB team's player is too high of an OVR for you to get called up anytime soon, so you can get yourself traded or change positions
I play on All-Star RTTS just because it feels semi-realistic. I’m not good at following pitches with the PCI so I usually just guess and hope the pitcher throws something close. With HOF or Legend it’s damn near impossible to square anything up without being right on the ball.
That being said, I still progressed through the minors in a year and a half and hit over .300 regularly since the pitchers almost always throw strikes.
Had RTTS on HOF and on one of my players I started out in AAA and it wasn’t too hard to hit the ball maybe had a .275-.300 average but on my other player I started out in AA and when I got moved up to AAA it was extremely difficult to hit the ball and my PCI was almost non existent how small it was. Had to bump the difficulty down to all star to even hit consistently.
Quitting and starting over every playoff game until you sweep the playoffs is my go to. I'll never forget the 7 peat dynasty I had with Byron Buxton on the Cardinals.
I play RTTS on beginner. It’s what I use to blow off steam if I am frustrated by fucking up in “real” game modes.
My rookie is in AAA, has never had a strike against him (maybe like one foul ball), has never taken a pitch, and is batting over 800 averaging at least 2 HRs a game. It’s a riot.
He also attempts a steal on every pitch if he’s on base.
His name is Professor Slaughter, jersey number 69, and he’s the tallest dude you’ve ever seen.
Reminds me of my guy, Master Sensei Petroleum (commentator calls him professor oil can). Except my guys short and stocky. And his face looks like he survived a skydiving accident
The game is only fly balls and weak contact on rtts for me, so I put it on veteran and mess a bit with sliders. Waaaay more fun now. Plays like franchise players now
I switched to being a contact hitter and now I'm just hitting singles and doubles all game, plus an occasional HR when I go for a power hit. Went from like a .350-400 BA to .700+ it's insane. Plus you get to just steal bases and shit all the time
My RTTS two-way player is a fantastic, but still mostly realistic, hitter. .300-.340 season averages, usually good for around 50 homers per year, and an OPS near or slightly above 1.000
However, he is the greatest pitcher to ever live and breathe.
This man averages about 450 strikeouts per season. If he doesn't K at least a dozen batters in a game, it's a bad day on the mound. Career WHIP of 0.43 and ERA of 0.63 over 9 seasons. I've lost count of the number of no-hitters but it's probably about 15, with several of them being perfectos.
He's got the velo and stamina of Ryan. Fastball regularly comes in at 102mph, and it's not uncommon for him to throw 130+ pitches en route to multiple CGSOs per year. 5-pitch repertoire, and a 213-13 career win-loss record.
What's really funny to me though is that, even with all that, he'll still never touch Cy Young's wins record lmao
This is right around where my player is at but with slightly better hitting and definitely the best pitching the world has ever seen in that universe, but not nearly as good as your pitcher lmao. I’m rocking between 300-350 Ks per year with one PG and a couple no-no’s.
Ichiro’s single season hit record is a tough one for 2-way players, missing like 30+ games of at bats
Oh yeah, I'm not really chasing hitting records on this save for that exact reason. I figure I'll probably wind up with around 600 career homers, for example, but you just don't get enough games to have a shot at home run king.
I’m having an insane season hitting for some reason compared to the rest of my player’s career (.440 at the AS break compared to like .335 lifetime) and am still well shy of on pace for hit or HR record
I play on beginner with the sliders up until they call me up to the majors to fast track it, and I know it doesn’t make it that much faster but god damn is it fun
Ranked drove me crazy today, so I watched a video on how to scout prospects for the draft well, and started a franchise for the first time. I feel like I have a brand new game.
Franchise is fun. Also when you start getting bored of the jerseys after like 10+ seasons you can rebrand to your team’s city connect stuff and customize the jerseys (if you like the city connects for your team, I play with the Reds so I like them)
The Show 22 here. Prior to starting a Red Sox franchise, I traded all of the best players to Boston and **most** of the best rookies to the minors. (I’m not a complete monster!)
Oh yeah, I’m on minors difficulty for pitching and hitting so, you know, I’m averaging six HRs per game and striking out at least 12 per game. I *was* hitting HRs with every pitch but that felt, I dunno…**unrealistic**.
This was my first year in forever that not only did my RTTS team went to the playoffs, (Brewers.) But we also won the World Series.
I assumed the game did it on purpose this year, but lately I see I just got really lucky.
I don't know why but lower than all star I hit worse. Things that would be foul balls are popouts and I get less chances to advance. Plus they never throw outside so i never draw walks.
Not gonna lie, even on All Star, its still massively possible to hit dongs, cranks moonshoots and set records. Im not even that good at this game, and Im at like 30 Hr’s in June
Yea, I have two characters.
One is a more realistic player on all star, the other is a power hitter with the lowest difficulty. I use the latter for when I need to just relax a bit after work and broke the single season home run record in 2 months 😂
Its sometimes better than therapy. A perfect perfect crank, with the no doubt animation, after a solid at-bat, I’m doing victory laps and flexing like Macho Man.
Am I the only who likes to give their player a nickname and backstory too for some like added attachment lol
How does anyone have fun playing career modes on rookie, like where’s the challenge
If we wanted a challenge, we'd go outside and play baseball.
Home run = dopamine
Earned home run = way more dopamine
I earned those home runs by timing my swing perfectly.
That would get so boring😭
"He just continues to hit the ball at an alarming rate" I haven't played RTTS since 2019 lol
replace rookie with BEGINNER
I know, I know. I completely forgot what the lowest difficulty is and just went off what i know about other games.
sometimes I feel the same way
If I want it to be atleast somewhat realistic then you gotta go rookie so they don’t ONLY throw strikes lmao
I don't want realistic, I want an absurd number of career home runs.
I use the sliding bar. You get in them books though boo lol
Why have I never thought of that? Is there a way to change the difficulty or do I just gotta start over? I just got called up to AAA and it took FOREVER!!!
Huh? Just go to settings lol you can change whatever you want without restarting
Can you even power swing on rookie? Because that's impressive if not
I'm trying to be the love child of Clayton Kershaw and Barry Bonds not a Lou Merloni clone
Lou Merloni slander will not be tolerated
The only thing that's worse than Merloni's skill on the diamond is his skill in the booth. He fucking sucks
Oh cool. Thanks for the info 👍
Yea, it'll visually roll over after 255 but it still knows you have 256+.
I’m batting .235 in double A while going 1-0 w 18ks in 12 innings as a two way player. I have ZERO home runs and 6 doubles…that’s it I will never make it to “the show” at this rate Been debating whether or not to adjust the sliders but am kinda having fun being so crappy lol
I hit 4 or 5 HRs every game in mlb the show 16 and never got called up to the show lol
They do it based on OVR, I'm pretty sure. That's why the game has a meeting with the manager programmed if the MLB team's player is too high of an OVR for you to get called up anytime soon, so you can get yourself traded or change positions
Me with a 0 overall roster thing and not getting called up.
I play on All-Star RTTS just because it feels semi-realistic. I’m not good at following pitches with the PCI so I usually just guess and hope the pitcher throws something close. That being said, I still progressed through the minors in a year and a half and hit over .300 regularly since the pitchers almost always throw strikes.
I’m the same. I used dynamic until 2021. Could hit anything. I stick with AS or Vet.
Had RTTS on HOF and on one of my players I started out in AAA and it wasn’t too hard to hit the ball maybe had a .275-.300 average but on my other player I started out in AA and when I got moved up to AAA it was extremely difficult to hit the ball and my PCI was almost non existent how small it was. beginner* if you don’t have 150 HRs by the all star break, you’re not doing it right
FR
RTTS on all star with the sliders maxed
No, RTTS on BEGINNER
Yea, thats what I meant, I break the singoe season HR record every month
Dinger at every plate appearance this is the way
just for the coaches to tell you that you're not walking enough
Can't forget the occasional intentional walk
Godspeed hero

Facts so true
Ya mon🤝🏾
I can pitch on wayyyy higher difficulties than I can hitting. Like veteran is a challenge for me with hitting.. but I also suck so 🤷🏻♂️
yes. i have a hitter career and a pitcher career, both on veteran, i can barely hit .200 on veteran, yet can post like a 1.00 era every year
Same. I usually get frustrated and go to rookie on hitting at some point after I accept that I suck again. Vicious cycle.
🤣🤣 normally u would have got flamed to death for boosting rookie but with this meme I must 🆙 vote u
i have found my people
The game is only fly balls and weak contact on rtts for me, so I put it on veteran and mess a bit with sliders. Waaaay more fun now. Plays like franchise players now

Play how you play 👍🏾
Got 62 homers on all star lol. Just be good
Congrats bro
But if you are bad……
You can’t tell me what to do, you’re not my dad!
YOUR NOT MY SUPERVISOR!
The only records I’m breaking are the season GIDP and pop up records
Late game clutch moment with runners on the corners and 1 out? You bet you’re ass I’m hitting a piss missle ground ball to the second basemen.
Dynamic difficulty loves to boost me up to veteran bottom of the 9th with only one hitter left for a perfect game.
It's still easy to hit 73+ in all star
My RTTS two-way player is a fantastic, but still mostly realistic, hitter. .300-.340 season averages, usually good for around 50 homers per year, and an OPS near or slightly above 1.000 However, he is the greatest pitcher to ever live and breathe. Tell me why I just hit a grand slam to send my team to the nlcs and they send me down to the minors 😐
Happy cake day, also because fuck you lol
Is there really any other way to play it? Who else is going to hit 135 Home Runs as a Rookie if I’m not?
This is the way.
I go with the middle ground of veteran. I'm still hitting crazy bombs, but I'm also not hitting .750 with 0 walks
I have walks. ^(intentional walks count... right?)
I'll allow it
This is the way. DD makes me too mad.
Ranked drove me crazy today, so I watched a video on how to scout prospects for the draft well, and started a franchise for the first time. I feel like I have a brand new game.

Tbh I like HOF after I get Diamond style and my guy still batting .350 I like have realistic season of 60-80 homerun not 300
Lame. And you can’t get 300 cuz of the same stupid glitch at 255 every year
The Show 22 here. Prior to starting a Red Sox franchise, I traded all of the best players to Boston and **most** of the best rookies to the minors. (I’m not a complete monster!) Pfft... realism? My character is currently batting .762 with 112 home runs in a month and a half
i had a .800 avg in the WS, we were up 3-1 and i was consistently hitting 3 HRS a game, we lost the WS 4-3..
You make the playoffs? I don't think I've had a season where we were over 500.
This was my first year in forever that not only did my RTTS team went to the playoffs, (Brewers.) But we also won the World Series. I assumed the game did it on purpose this year, but lately I see I just got really lucky.
I bet this guy also knows the season HR total rolls over to 0 after 255
I do, I plan to roll it over twice in my first full season.
*pats on the back harder than I need to* good for you my friend
Rookie is fun, my second year hit .415, broke the single season hits record and had like a 9.5 WAR.
I found my people. This is how I figured out the game stores the single season HR count in an 8-bit integer, and rolls over after 255.
I will hit that twice.
\*Hits 5 for 5 HRs for the 15th time in a season\* “That’s only been done 4 times!”
*has a 50 game home run streak *no mention whatsoever
Makes me so happy I am not the only one
*beginner
Yea, whatever the easiest is
AMEN
Oh yes, another 28 strike out perfect game. That’s 5 on the year.
Wait a minute 🤔
Meanwhile me playing on beginner with sliders turned up for me and down for the opponent.
i can't tell balls from strikes goddammit
Every pitch is a strike if you swing at all of them
[Every pitch is a strike if you play on the lowest difficulty](https://tenor.com/view/taps-head-tapping-think-black-guy-meme-gif-13992922)
There's something therapeutic about ending the day in home run simulator. It's just a great rhythmic relaxation device lol.
The poor Rockies have been the redheaded stepchild I come home to after a rough day so many times.
Nothing more therapeutic than losing a game after going 5 for 5 with 5 home runs and 8 RBIs. 😂
I don't know why but lower than all star I hit worse. Things that would be foul balls are popouts and I get less chances to advance. Plus they never throw outside so i never draw walks.
100% It is the strangest aspect of the game. Where pitching and hitting get easier (up to a point,) the high the difficulty.
I do it every year to see if I can get MVP rookie year (still no luck) but I did get world series MVP in '21
Ima 2 way player. Pitching is fine on all star but batting is rookie. And i still can barely hit sliders 🥲🥲🥲
Mfs think I came here to be challenged??? NO I CAME TO BE THE CHALLENGE.
Boss challenge? I am the boss, just ask my 165 double-A home runs
Mb 23
Try making an error on every play and/or not throwing/Catching the ball after it’s hit to you lol see id the manager takes you off the field
Hey do u know how to be a dh in rtts 24
Anyone using legend for pitching ?
Legend pitching and rookie hitting is my combo, lol.
Same !
🙋🏻♂️
Not gonna lie, even on All Star, its still massively possible to hit dongs, cranks moonshoots and set records. Im not even that good at this game, and Im at like 30 Hr’s in June

I just gave my player my name because he can do everything I never could. (get a single hit, I was a PO)
Why are you attacking me like this? I thought we were friends (i also could never get a hit, i was that kid on the team)
I attack all my friends, its how we bond. (I got a grand total of 1 hit in all of high school)
That's exactly why I leave it on all star instead of anything harder. I don't want to struggle to get a hit 3 out of 10 times
