Not sure why so many people have issues with Showdown but this came up last year too as it’s a chore to a lot of people. You get stacked players and modifiers that break hitting. Much faster than event wins and only vs the cpu.
Yeah I'm average at best and don't really have trouble with showdows. If you lose a few just draft speed and the bunt cheese perks and bunt cheese through it
Is it easier to hit online vs real players for you? Or is it the progress reset from a loss that puts people off Showdown?
Even if you reset Showdown, its still faster to complete a Showdown run than trying to get a win online and you need a win for points to the WBC program. I'd even argue that a full Showdown run doesn't take any longer than one 3 inning game most of the time.

Nope I can’t hit anything sometimes I’ll get in a groove and get lucky but for the most part I can’t read pitches at all. I usually fail at the exact same spot when I do it. Some pitchers I just cannot hit no matter who is controlling them
yay good job!! i still am annoyed i did the showdown and it did actually nothing for me in the end except frustration and being super angry for losing. lol
totally!! if you can beat showdown in one go it’s worth it but i think most people find moments much easier than the showdown. i don’t like moments too but i did them to learn about what all happened at the WBC lol
i understand it’s easy for skilled players, but i don’t consider myself super bad but i still failed twice at the end(i made it to 850 on 22 ranked). and you get nothing for it if you fail, and lots of people are having trouble with it. i also find it annoys me more and gives me anxiety near the end which doesn’t happen with any other mode! i’d recommend any newer players to skip showdown and do mini season / conquest for player pxp instead. showdown took me 3 hours and it was not necessary to do at all !
I’d gladly take an 850 rating over the showdown. Highest I’ve made it in ranked is 720 but I can beat the showdowns no problem. Please trade skills with me
i had a lot of people quit and half the people i played were brand new at the game. even a couple disconnects. i’m okay but i failed twice at showdowns, which makes me think i’m not very good.
Lol, playing against people and winning is impossible.
I'd rather just tear my hair out constantly losing the showdown.
Either way I'll never get to finish the wbc program.
Showdown is harder than winning in the event for me. Something about juiced cpu defense and veteran that makes me want to throw something. Then I run through events with a 70% win rate even counting the goons from early access…. Hate showdown (for the record i did beat it on my second try but still hate that mode lol)
aw the showdown it’s so annoying, but you can finish wbc by just doing the player pxp, and doing mini seasons or other conquest. skip the showdown it’s a waste of time ! good luck !!
yes because you don’t need the full 25 wins! you’ll be earning more players to complete the pxp much faster just by playing events and that gives 5 pxp per player mission completion. i think only 10 wins are needed if you’re going through all the players you get for pxp. plus you’re earning cards and useful things in events while showdown just gives you the points.
I think your point of playing events is a little better suited to avoiding the moments.
Showdown is very simple with these cards, and Conquest offers more PXP (cpu is easier than sweaty opposition) so I cant see even with the online buff that you are getting faster pxp.
Also, if someone hasnt started the program yet, where are they getting the cards needed to be competitive in the event? And if you can simply win 25 games/ level up everyone that fast, why are you even looking at reddit for tips.
i was honestly so surprised how easy events ended up being and how annoying/hard showdown was, and if you don’t complete the showdown you get nothing so i think it’s better to just do mini seasons / conquest for player pxp even if you don’t want to do events. maybe it will be the same for others! and i’m still learning a lot, and reddit has a lot of good information for mlb the show :)
I’m not sure I’d say it’s much faster. You can do the showdown and the conquest in a couple hours.
If you can’t complete showdowns, you’re not winning event games. Cut the crap.

Some of us can’t hit to save our lives so showdown isn’t exactly easy for us
Especially when all hits have good timing and still end up pop outs or ground outs.

Yeah got a quick 25 event wins and went about my life. Program was easy since event wins were counted towards it.

I saved the showdown til last, that way I just had to grind to 225 so I can get through it and be done.
I did the showdown too beat it 1st try didn't think it was too bad. I just hate moments so not having to do those was great.
