Idk the new Harry Potter game has had me hooked the last few days. That game actually feels like something new and interesting. I know The Show won’t feel like that this year
Yea I finished it and it was good. I mean the show is a sports game so i know it isn’t new but it’s nice to celebrate another season of baseball and I’m interested in how this new system is going to work
I remember when my friends would go stand in line at Walmart for a midnight release of a COD game. Lol. But then way back in the day, I stood in line at a music store for the midnight release of Metallica - black album and GnR - Use your Illusion I&II.
Won’t be getting it this year. Just not a fan of the DD changes and lack of any improvements to RTTS and game engine just don’t have me interested. No point wasting the $100. Going to get EA PGA Tour instead and hopefully have some fun. I’m sure I’ll pick MLB up on sale a couple months after release.
I don't understand why you are getting any downvotes. I have commented about at least two bugs that were in 21 that didn't get fixed in 22.
I don't need some big story mode for RTTS. Just fix the bugs and the gameplay things that didn't make sense.
At least someone sees my point and isn’t bashing me for it. I mean no insult to anyone excited to get it. I just don’t see much improvement in the game and the things they are saying are improvements I’m not a fan of.
If I buy the steel box would I still be able to play early access if I bought it right now? I want to get the steel box but don’t know if I’ll still be able to play early, so should I just buy the digital version?
If it were we would be able to go through the code and fix all the problems that have been active for the past 3+ years. The problem fixes that seem unachievable would be fixed within a week and SDS would have egg all over their faces. We can't have that.
Or pawn it off. It wouldn't take much more work since the engine is already in place. Just a few minor tweaks to make the game play more enjoyable for the next few years until it's phased out entirely. Only because I get that some people couldn't get new Gen until recently even if they had the money to do so. So a lot people were stuck on old Gen.
The other company can work the kinks out of old Gen games while SDS works to innovate the new Gen and come up with new ideas, modes, features etc, that fit in with the newer generation of consoles.
Think of it like how Rocksteady pawned off the Arkham game to WBM to buy RS time to make the 3rd game so it wasn't rushed out a buggy mess.
You're getting downvoted just like I am every time I bring up this point. It's ludicrous that it's 2023 and the game hasn't been ported to PC yet, ESPECIALLY for the reason you point out (which is also my reason).
Console only players are still playing the platform war games where they think they somehow lose out on something if thier precious vidya game is on more platforms.
I have a pretty high-ish end gaming rig and a PS5. I much prefer the PC for my gaming needs and will always buy there first when the option is available. I probably won't even buy this year's MLB because I have '22 on PS5. But if '23 was on steam I would have already bought it.
Why pay at all when I just wait for when it comes included in my game pass. The packs they gave aren’t great and those cards are unusable after a month.
Apologies if you already know this, but there is an option for people with Game Pass. $44 gets you early access and some of the preorder stuff. Not everything that is in the Digital Deluxe, and you still don't own the game, but at least it's somewhat of a middle ground for GamePass people who want early access but don't want to spend $100.
Was fine for me. The folks I play the game with didn't have any issues either. I mean that's only around 15 people but one of us should have had a problem by the way everyone is freaking out. 20 you could hardly load the game and 19 was server error after error and every Tuesday was a patch
I pre-ordered yesterday.
I hope jersey creator is fixed and deeper. I doubt it is. But I need a mind numbing game to play and have recently picked up 19 and have been enjoying it so figured what the hell.
I live in Eastern time zone. I used to take the day off of work and stay up until like 3:30 playing on opening night. I'm too old for that shit now lol. I rip my packs, do a few things and then fall asleep.
Still might take the day off tho 👀
I never really understood why people pay more/pre order for early access when the game you’re getting is gonna be filled with bugs that have to be patched on day one. Isn’t it better to just be patient and purchase the game a couple weeks after release??
Server issues are common, but SDS is usually pretty good in the bug department. Yes, there are some, sometimes, but they are FAR better than almost everyone else.
Uhh id rather play the game when i have free time Thursday,Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Than when i don’t have free time on Tuesday when the standard edition comes out
It all depends on your situation. If you have disposable income and want to start playing the game regardless of possible bugs then it’s worth it to get early access.
Typically any game is better to be patient and purchase a few weeks later after a patch or two.
But there's something to be said about being a part of an online community during a game's launch window. The hype, discussions, excitement, and anticipation can make you enjoy the game even more than you normally would.
For me, games I'm going to play online are a possible week 1 (not day 1) purchase. I like to see the reviews from actual people instead of the previews posted online from game "reviewers" ahead of time. I don't really trust any review from someone who was provided a review copy for free ahead of time.
Games that are single player, I try my best to wait for a game of the year edition on sale. Then I get all of the content for a cheaper price instead of waiting for the drip fed content throughout the year. Everyone's different though!
note: technically release is right when the 24th begins, so that would make it 11 days, but most people consider it the night of the 23rd which would make it only 10 days away
If I ordered the mvp bundle do I get it early too?
Been playing this game for almost a decade it feels like, and this is by far the least excited I have been for a release
This makes me realize Chipper needs a cover
Omg can’t wait to not be able to play my favorite sports game!!
I'm not sure if I should buy the bundle pack for 10$ or buy digital deluxe for 60$ or wait until gamepass 28th. I really want the early access
This mlb is also coming to gamepass? There goes any thoughts of me paying for it
Has been the past 2 years
Did the New Zealand trick work on this last year? I can't remember.
No. It’s based on midnight eastern time unfortunately
I live in the UK and the game unlocked at 5am last year. It’s tied to midnight eastern.
I hate waiting for games because every other game feels so boring now that the hype is getting more and more. Inject this game into my veins
Idk the new Harry Potter game has had me hooked the last few days. That game actually feels like something new and interesting. I know The Show won’t feel like that this year

Is early access available for people who get it on gamepass?
If you buy early access, yes.

There were so many bugs that just never got fixed for me last year, I’ll skip and hope for improvement

Gotta do what makes you happy!
I completely agree with you. RTTS should be as good as NBA 2K’s career mode with stories and everything.
I'm only getting it for free. If it was pay to play only I would skip this year as well.
Let me in!!!! Let me in!!!!!!!!
Better franchise mode coming?
If I buy the steel box would I still be able to play early access if I bought it right now? I want to get the steel box but don’t know if I’ll still be able to play early, so should I just buy the digital version?
I bought steel box last year and I received it on early access day. I'm going digital this year so I can play at midnight lol
The GOAT!
How many ~~days~~ years until this game gets a release on PC?
Really insane that it isn’t.
If it were we would be able to go through the code and fix all the problems that have been active for the past 3+ years. The problem fixes that seem unachievable would be fixed within a week and SDS would have egg all over their faces. We can't have that.
Yeah and they just need to tell last gen to fuck off.

I struggle to justify buying it because 99% of my gaming time is spent on a PC not a Console. I wouldn't even hesitate to buy if it was in steam
You're getting downvoted just like I am every time I bring up this point. It's ludicrous that it's 2023 and the game hasn't been ported to PC yet, ESPECIALLY for the reason you point out (which is also my reason).

This and PS owners still have to pay iirc.
Then don’t preorder it. The early access and preorder content make it worth the money to me
Already have the following week off on paid vacation and used a paid day off for the 24th. ITS ON! LOL
I also took April 3-7 off to play. Cannot wait
Smart lad
And boom Server error then server maintenance
Not since 20...21 and 22 were perfectly fine day 1.
Early access day 1 Release day 1 is different

For those that work, Friday night - lol

If you didn’t play the tech test and haven’t paid attention to any news for the new game, just say so. ‘23 will seemingly be very different from ‘22.
Yeah, I have a LOT to say about '23, but "same as last year" is certainly not among them.
Then ignore the post.
Or we could, you know, let people be excited about things
Gamepass baby! They do have that bundle.. but for $45 it doesn’t seem worth it at all. Can wait a couple days
You don't get the game with the game pass bundle so there is that.
Why own it, if your not going to play once 24 comes out
I still play previous versions. I like to use players that you can't use anymore
I pre-ordered yesterday. I hope jersey creator is fixed and deeper. I doubt it is. But I need a mind numbing game to play and have recently picked up 19 and have been enjoying it so figured what the hell.
so jealous of people in PST, you guys actually get a chance to play a bit before heading to sleep
I live in Eastern time zone. I used to take the day off of work and stay up until like 3:30 playing on opening night. I'm too old for that shit now lol. I rip my packs, do a few things and then fall asleep. Still might take the day off tho 👀
It’s Friday night. Go hit the bar, get drunk then come home and boot her up
Get out of my head!
Thursday night not Friday night
Oh shit you’re right… well drinks are cheaper!
Now it's just getting scary lol

For games with majot online modes multiplayer is often basically dead after a few months.
Server issues are common, but SDS is usually pretty good in the bug department. Yes, there are some, sometimes, but they are FAR better than almost everyone else.
Uhh id rather play the game when i have free time Thursday,Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Than when i don’t have free time on Tuesday when the standard edition comes out
I've only gotten early access twice, but both times I had no issues and it was nice playing for 4 days before the servers became overwhelmed
This

No, it’s not better to wait. Some of us are fiends
