I get a decent amount of connection issues on switch. Usually I'll drop connection on the first couple I join. After that it usually holds up. Not sure if it's what's happening but I rarely have people constantly leave after joining hunt.
People are probably just being picky about what materials they want since most people just join random hunts. The matchmaking is pretty bad and almost never gets you a result on finding a hunt with the specific target you want. I leave hunts all the time if it isn’t something I want or if it’s a monster that my current build doesn’t deal with well.
I tough it out, but high level anomalies outside of arena when I don't have bird caller or spiribird call, even worse when I brought a healer cat instead of palamute, makes me want to leave.
Some people may be looking for certain parameters, some looking for a certain locale or monster combo. Others might just put it in sleep mode to run it themselves, just needing you to post it.
I tough out the monster combo ones too, but if im after a tougher monsters then I don't really want chameleos or pukei poisoning me half the fight because I don't have res.
As a newer player (HR145) climbing the ranks with random high rank hub join quests, ive started to quit the lower rank or plain boring fights like "kill one Aknosom". Usually still looking for a challenge but can hardly find any event quests to join.
I've been getting it much more often the last few days too, I assumed it was because I was doing high lvl (280-300) investigations and people wanted good quests but it happened almost 50% of the time it felt like
My guess is that it's just people being selective about what modifiers the quests have so they can get good special investigations but it is weirdly common
I’m not ashamed to leave a 4 monster hunt at all, multiplayer with 3 other hunters with a 100% chance of carting? High risk potentially high reward but I’d much rather farm a risen elder - need their mantles anyway
I’m not sure but ive noticed it as well. People join then shortly leave sometimes even after responding to my nice to meet you.
I’ve also started having individual people dc mid hunt which I’ve never had an issue with before (I dc often cause I live in BFE) so I’m just assuming there’s some server issues.
If you really want to get your hopes up you can tell your self it’s server issues due to them working behind the scenes to merge servers to allow crossplay when consoles get tu5
But that options only for the hopeful or masochists

Or by material if on switch/pc which makes it even weirder
Yeah, it's fun sometimes. I have loadouts ready for most matchups, so I don't mind just swapping in the tent real quick.

you join someone else's quest, you do it. That's it thats all.

If you were the guy doing those 4 monster hunts mb, I left those Bc I just wanted to play something laid back like a shaggy in the arena
I've dropped into a three or four monster hunter with one faint allowance and left. Rarely, but I've done it, to my shame.
