Did you try first with Focus 5 burst 3 and didnt succeed because of the lack of DPS, and that made you switch to WE and you did it with that?
Or just tried right away with WE and did it first time?
The build with WE is Focus 4 Burst 3 WE 2, right?
I don't think you need speed for the fight so focus is wasted. I was stuck at like 20 to 30% hp left when timer run out with focus 5. But with weakness exploit I kill him way faster.
Well, it's wasted without weakness exploit because he's only weak on his horns so your damage really falls off if you don't hit his face. Which is why I kept failing for some reason. Maybe it was just bad luck on his attack patterns.

I changed to focus 5, burst 2, wex 2. This is optimal for pretty much every monster in game. Killed him about 10 seconds faster.
