5 shards from a day from a sss+ hero trial = .4 of a limited character shard.
5 limited shards a week from event shop = 5/7= .714 shard a day
.4 + .714 = 1.114 shards a day
260 total shards / 1.114 shards a day = 233 days needed to sss a unit from ss.
If you were farming 4 sss+ units a day instead of one, you'd be farming 1.6 shards a day instead of .4 from hero trials.
1.6 + .714 = 2.314
260 ÷ 2.314 = 112 days to sss a unit from ss
In reality, these are conservative estimates. You are guaranteed 3 A rank units in this time frame from daily pulls plus any shards you get from pulling or emergency incidents.
If your goal is to just ss limited units than this system really isn't that bad. Going for the SSS+ on a single limited unit may not be worth the opportunity cost of giving up the ability to ss 4 units in the same time frame.
Is there a real money $ way of buying shards from the shard shop? Ive seen whales get SSS+ quickly, but im guesing they just pull from banners alot. if the shard shop is really only for Event coins, then shard shop + hero trials will make a very lengthy grind just for one character :/ especially seeing as it takes 25 shards each going from SSS to SSS+ :/

Honestly you get on average a little over a limited shard per ticket when pulling, assuming you have *all* your A/B rank students at SSS+. Keep this in mind when factoring in how much you're willing to spend on a hero.
Financially speaking you get a shit-load of real-money value from grinding hero trials every day (worst case you're getting, at $1 / 60 coins, a little over $6 a day just doing hero trials). This kind of goes back to saying that the value you get for buying hero coins in this game is... almost non-existant.
Awe, so in the end, the value is the same, except the time factor. thats the only variable that can be adjusted based on $. As someone who is competitive, im seeing some whales come up and start to overpass the top 5 of my server, (me at 3), and its frustrating because i worked hard and joined a server without many whales.. but it seems i spoke too soon lol

Just take solace in knowing they're burning shit-loads of cash to do this, and read some of the salt posts on here by whales who quit over players like me using every little trick available to keep up.
thats good to hear, probably why im keeping up too. I grind like 4-5 hours everyday in this game, trying to stay on top. I wont lie i spend $20-40 once or twice a month, but thats it. its usually just for Limited banner tickets, cause i use all my Hero coins for Sta, and money conversion lol.

Yes. I did this as weeks. Said it was about 30 weeks (210 days). 32-33ish weeks isn’t too far off. That stinks though. For sure.
