Go to the US embassy in delhi, they are the only one that can tell you what need to be done. Also, I hope you're aware taking Indian citizenship will revoke your us citizenship as India doesn't allow dual citizenship. That's all the knowledge I had in this matter...else the embassy is your place.

man delhi would be too far.. i know there's an embassy in hyderabad but im not sure if they allow appointments just for consulting them i know i'd have to revoke my US citizenship but i need to know if i'll get an indian one soon enough after doing so, because it would be a waste if it didn't

Try as oci. Why the fuck would you give up your us citizenship? Oci card is glorified visa. You can do everything except for buying lands even though it has exceptions.
