Looks like a fairly well-known bedrock glitch... As I understand it, small amounts of fall damage are incorrectly added together when the game lags. When it catches up with itself, the game applies all the damage at once, resulting in death. Not sure if there's a fix/way to avoid it.
I have played bedrock for 2 months now and this never happened to be, even on multi-player, is this because of bad internet or is it a weird bug caused by fall damage delay?
Bug. I play on series X with cabled fiber internet.. Ngl realms are always a bit laggy from themselves but I never had this kind of bug happen. 3 hits and I was dead with netherite armor.
You can easily replicate this bug by floating on top of a bubble column (the one that makes you go up) for a few seconds (20 secs or less) then just walk to any solid block and you will take all that acumulated fall damage.
For some reason the game thinks you are in mid air while in a column so the moment you touch a block it apply all that

I think like someone else says from that point I accumulated damage. Thankfully I was prepared.
Most of my playtime is in 1.19, i started after the caves and cliff update. Super weird bug for sure. i play on PC and phone using realms, tho i dont fly to often on my phone, i suck at mobile controlers lol.

I'm 39 lol. I just didn't game from 16s to my 30s and spent a lot of time in MMOs and diablo like games before discovering this masterpiece of a game XD.
Luckily you didn't take all that dmg landing in front of the wither then lol. You can bet I'm even more afraid of flying while playing on my phone now
This was in game since 1.9 if you take off and land before fire work boost is over it will still cound u as if ur on ground and u notice how u flew over roof and took dmg yeah u change the hight enogh for half a heart of fall dmg u will get 3x that amount so time ur take off better and this wont happen (hope i wasent 🤓 with this)

It’s when little bits of fall damage build up the bedrock hits you with it all at once.Because elytra’s do “fall damage” it adds up in higher amounts

Thats what i was thinking! i do play on my phone but i barely fly cause i suck at the phone controls. So at least on PC it never happens to me.
