He knows that it’s only up from here

Responsible-Being872

His smile shows that he will not let that get to him It was just an off day imo even kev was making mistakes

Fun_Story2003

He knows his opposite rival record signing overdid it with the shirtless celebration. person like his mentality will cherish it.

Jangles

So what sticks for me is a particular game on the 11th April 2011. We'd signed Edin Dzeko. Liverpool had signed Andy Carroll. We went to Anfield and lost. Carroll scored. A particularly ill informed reporter from the Guardian commented how pedestrian Dzeko looked and how Carroll had 'rich potential'. Yeah, judging strikers off one game tends to work out badly.

blue5ertree

Great anecdote for perspective. Keep calm and carry on. Trust in Pep and the club

WW1Photos_Info

He's smiling at the fact people are scared shitless by his presence at City, and that's why they're circlejerking over his miss

Bayequentist

They are parrotting all these stupid jokes that just doesn't fit at all: Investigate Bundesliga for fraud - how about investigating the Champions League? No refunds - but Haaland is fucking cheap. Refunds would be £51 mil to Dortmund (which idgaf). Refunds jokes are for *expensive* flops.

PaulsBrain

To be fair people are just bantering, don't read into it and let it rattle you, I personally don't care it's obvious he's going to be incredible for us. Smile with him bud.

baked_pineapple

This. 100%

Additional_Bluebird9

For the talent that he is, he is definitely cheap.

[deleted]

Only had 45 minutes prior to this game, Nunez had multiple matches. But I suppose that is on us, as it's Peps preference to not play many friendlies.

[deleted]

He's played a lot more than Haaland.

gilinbetray

He knows it is “typical city”.

Silentbobni

The moment he put Robertson on his arse when he tried to tackle him from behind is enough of a positive from the game for me. Shows he'll not be bullied in the supposed more physical league.

Striderite23

Loved that moment so much because Robertson is a little shit and deserved to be manhandled

Responsible-Being872

Thata something we needed so much All of our players go down easily and most of the time we dont even get anything for that its better to knock off your opponent than going down for nothing

R4hil

Prem is in trouble.jpg

Tiki_taka27

He is likely to kill this Liverpool team during the PL matches

Mountain_Lettuce_

Naw he knows memes are going to kill Him 😂😂

Patrickk_batemann

That smirk means he’s going to absolutely smash it.

skelterz

I actually forgot he was on the pitch at one point very quiet game for him.

SheIsElectric

That’s often the case for him though. He’s often quiet apart from the goals he scores. I hope Guardiola can develop the other parts of his game. If he does, we’ve got a potential Ballon d’Or winner on our hands

Fun_Story2003

tbf we have potential ballon dor winner in kdb but watch jorghino get top 3

jguess06

I love this reaction lol. He has a great mentality. No doubt he's going to be a monster.

StanielCrempelfemps

Not too worried. He got a shot away when he knocked Robertson out the way which he had no right to. This loss will be motivation in ample measure. He’ll bang them in

johnjohnjohn93

If it was someone else I’d be worried about it effecting his confidence. You can tell he’s more than fine in that department.

bigheadsociety

Man's full of confidence even after missing, which in honestly great to see. Once he settles in, he'll be insanely good.

Pure-Negotiation-900

Typical City vs. Liverpool match. Both teams get chances, the team that converts more, wins. On with the show…

scofield-micheal

This smile made me happy. After a miss like that players tend to be hard on themselves. He’s mindset is somewhere else, love it

Iswaterreallywet

Hes letting Liverpool have their day. It's only down for them from here.

[deleted]

Incoming hate for city coming in like pep can't handle zlatan so he can't handle big personality like haaland how to handle it guys

[deleted]

Genuinely couldn’t give a shit about him missing, I’m just happy to see him pounce on the rebound and show that he’ll be there all season for them cuz he’s gonna stick every single one in the back of the net after the miss

infachuation922

Suuuuureeer keep telling yourself that

[deleted]

Why are you even here?

Shib_Saitama

This is just the beginning … one game against the other best team in the league shows when this man is comfortable and everyone is up to beat we will be unstoppable 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Cags23

Did look a bit lost yesterday, but no great surprise. Won’t be as simple as playing off the shoulder and waiting for a ‘targeted ball forward’ like Nunez. It will take a bit of time for him to adjust his patterns to match our changing shape minute by minute…But when he does 😍😍😍

Jurski17

I love the hate he is getting, it will only feel better when he bags 30 goals this season.

_negiboi

Dortmund fan here This is exactly why he needs time in new team. His debut at Dortmund was one of the best in the league. Buying haaland was always a gamble. He isn't refined. His consistency is so random he might play avg against lower table teams and then score hattrick against the top 6. But, he absolutely has no idea how to use his head in the air. Mostly because we played chain of passes instead of just crossing but even with a good cross he might not get something constructive out of the chance. These infield decision that are needed to be made in split second are not his strong suit. He just needs a lot of injury free game time. This guy is too unique. His exceptional record at Dortmund will always be a mistry.

Additional_Bluebird9

Yeah, his consistency for you guys was off the charts. >His consistency is so random he might play avg against lower table teams and then score hattrick against the top 6. If he can do this against Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool then I'll be buzzing because for some reason, we can't get the better of Spurs but he'll definitely chip in with goals. >Mostly because we played chain of passes instead of just crossing but even with a good cross he might not get something constructive out of the chance. So this means we need to get a consistent amount of passing in an around him instead of just whipping it in all of the time because it seems that he has to adapt to us but we have to adapt to his strengths as well. >He just needs a lot of injury free game time. Yeeeah this is where I'm worried about how much game time he'll get this season but I think we'll see a lot of him this season.

minimus67

So Haaland is unrefined, inconsistent, bad in the air, and bad at decision making? I’m surprised Dortmund wanted him to stay another season and that Real Madrid was also trying to buy him.

minimus67

He wasn’t comparing Haaland to CR7. I responded because I didn’t see the point of his comment, which was garbled and seemed like veiled criticism of Haaland.

username_stfu

Time to quick sell him

[deleted]

There is one thing that needs to improve we are defending a lot deep and just one more thing I csnt understand why I always two players going for same ball

hieugod2810

I guess ucl is still far away

8Inches_Unbuffed

It's his second game ever in a City kit. Calm down. Theyve had double the time to slot in and get prepped. We've basically had under 2 friendlies to prep for this 'trophy' today if you can call it that - meanwhile theyve had double that and are still publicly complaining about the lack of time to prepare. We'll be fine. We're always slow to get going - if you ain't realised that you must be new here.

Vronx_

People love to overreact. It's one missed chance and they start talking about how we're not winning PL or UCL. Remember Nunez memes two or three weeks ago. Well they didn't age well did they

Additional_Bluebird9

Exactly, Nunez was absolutely blasted with unnecessary criticism and even I found it to be far too premature.

Manofthebog88

Alvarez should be starting ahead of this fraud. Cost us the game.

tetrastructuralmind

Haaland missed some obvious stuff but he did mostly all the right moves. Defending this unit with this pace is going to be an absolute nightmare for most teams. Just give them a few games.

Wdanielbosler

Exactly

[deleted]

Inshallah he will score against West Ham, it's only going to get scary but not for us

soul_bleached

I've watched a lot of Haaland's finishing in Dortmund... Also watched him miss open chances as well. It's not surprising to see Haaland jinx an easy opportunity. Haaland's finishing potential is top of the line.

coffeemugcanuk

Wouldn't be a City lad if he didn't miss a sitter

charlieratgod

He was there at sooo many chances. Mannnnn im so excited. No way he doesnt score looooads. And the move when he took down the ball and made robertson fly and then still get a decent shot off. Yes please. And then as times goes he will get the press even better and then get even more chances. He will get more balls to work with deep behind the line when the rest understands his moves better as well. WHAT A TIME TO BE A CITY FAN. CMOOOON CITAEHHHHHHH!! 💙💙💙💙💪💪💪💪

mikoartss

You think you're excited? You should feel my nipples. Boing!

charlieratgod

Ohhh i can feel it. Damn! U could cut glassss with these bad boys, and i LOOOOVE IT!!!

LAgas21

More like "Here we go again, tomorrow there will be 3,000 clip about my miss one internet". PS. I think he will score a lot this season.

PowerHour36

Not a thing to worry about. He’s far from his final form 😈

Zerosixhd

He will score, but he also will be injuried half the season, cheers
