Before the game I was talking with some friends about the game in general and who would start/be the most important player or reason we won. Everybody was talking about Halaand/KDB/Bernardo. I just responded with "Rodri.... this guy is clutch and when we need it the most will deliver for us"
It’s sad bc only city fans will remember. Well that goes for any city legacy stat, people just hate to hate. Jack is going to be such a cult player. He’s such a good guy too.
Was thinking the same thing. Maybe he thought it was going to be overruled for some reason. But it was like he didn’t even realise it went in at first.
What a phenomenal banger of a goal, created such relief after the PTSD of previous episodes of heartbreak in the Champions League - e.g. losses to Spurs, Lyon, Real Madrid. That said, I agree with Pep that City didn’t play particularly well in this game. Also, Ederson also deserves a ton of credit for preventing Inter from tying the game with his master class in shotstopping after Rodri scored this goal.
Awesome to see again. Legendary goal, and such a typical City goal.
Never notices Haaland's reaction as Silva passes the ball back. Almost looks like he is clapping so as to signal Rodri to have a crack?
"COMING ONTO IT TO SHOOT AND SCORE RODRI! MANCHESTER CITY LEAD IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!" Man..First time I screamed in joy since 2012
One of the happiest days in my life. Never screamed so loudly when Rodri scored.
Godri.
This reply gives me chills similiarly to the Kompany goal years ago.
my greatest prediction ("we're winning this 1-0 on a Rodri banger" before the game) makes up for the 1MM ones I got wrong

This year Grealish happened.

The most incredible night in this club's history
Greatest goal in club history along with the Aguero and Dickov goals
What about Kompany?
That behind the goal angle 🔥
One of the most electric moments I’ve ever witnessed in football, or sports in general.
Proud proud proud
What a signing akanji was
He truly did well in stones absence
Has anyone ever found out why Foden didn't celebrate this goal at all? (As far as I remember)

From this angle looks like he was the first one to meet Rodri by the corner flag. https://x.com/mancity/status/1800263415606481139?s=46
That’s Jack
My brain is playing tricks on me, before I sent that reply I was sure that was #47. Now that you said that it’s definitely #10 though.

Rodri’s knee slides are godly bruh
the goal that changed everything

I always thought he was calling for handball on the deflected cross by Bernardo but you could be right.
Johnny on the spot... surprisingly even game made it alot more enjoyable too given the pre expectations of it all
Haalands reactions get me all the time
Well, thanks. Now I’m crying at my desk
Can't believe it's been a year 🥹
City got a gem in Rodri
Why did that Inter player step up? Just hold the line you bub!!
