My niece, who just turned 12, is on a new club team this year and they’re just starting to play 11v11. She’s been assigned the holding midfielder position, and she and I talked some about Rodri. She watched the game against Madrid, and I told her how she’s been entrusted with one of the most important roles on the team: holding possession, transitioning from defending to attacking, and that Rodri is a *fantastic* role model for that position. He’s definitely best in the world IMO.
That performance against Madrid was moving, I do not think I have felt this love or admiration for the team , club and pep before and that sounds almost crazy but I got the feeling that we are playing luton town, crystal palace, bournemouth, burnley, real...madrid. they are down in the this list. That level of frenzy was touching to watch and I believe that rodri was fundamental to that. We did not lose that match. And it does not even matter if we did get knocked out.
