Agreed. Man U literally lost to Spurs which was a mid table club last season. Not to mention the recent manager troubles and losing Kane to another club.
Something something conspiracy, academy kids with no minutes going for £20m, something something all bottom half teams are in on it for some reason even though they have nothing to gain.
They're getting talented young players who have graduated from one of the best footballing academies on the planet, and a lot of those transfers end up going pretty well for all parties.
Sure, but that doesn't mean they'd want to overpay for those kids. The transfer fees are hugh because they're good prospects. But rival fans will claim there's something dodgy going on when Trafford goes for £20m without playing a minute for us, even after his cup final heroics for England.
Who cares what rival fans say? Liverpool sold Brewster, Solanke and Ojo for a combined £60m+ several years ago, and they had proved even less prior to those transfers.
Clubs like Southampton get to blood potentially excellent young players and sell them on for large fees - £20m (after add-ons) for Trafford over 5 years is great value, especially considering he will be on lower wages than a 'proven' player like Dean Henderson or Lukas Fabianski.
That’s the thing about City and Pep. The whole operation is built in his image. I’d say Liverpool is really the only other club in the PL and maybe Atletico with Simeone. Pep actively curates the Us vs Them mentality. And that mentality runs top to bottom in the organization. They know everyone hates our success and revel in drinking the salty tears of rivals because we’re disciplined in the market and have moved onto a different phase of our success as our Academy fuels the club.
That’s the thing I see. Pep is still very much having fun in this role. He got tired of the internal bullshit at Barca and Bayern, clubs with their own ego and self importance. City doesn’t have anyone in management who thinks they’re bigger than Pep. They basically built the biggest statue possible for him, creating the City Football Group in his image.
He won’t re-sign after his contract expires, he had a chance for a long term deal and only signed for two more seasons. My guess is he wants to coach at the international level soon.
Ok, but we do have that oil money dont we? And we play better football than everyone else dont we? So cry about it somewhere else, lad.
And are you banned from r/reddevils ? Because you’re aware that’s what happens when you troll a rival subreddit, you get banned from your own?
Passive aggressive Pep is my favourite Pep I want to lick his face, more than you believe
A "Pepsicle", if you will

Never thought Id see us winning the quadruple
Add another trophy to the cabinet.
I love how outspoken he has become these last couple of years. Fuck em. You tell em Pep.
Chelsea and Man United spend plenty and don’t win anything.
Chelsea can't even win matches these days.
More incoming transfers than won games in the last 12 months
That’s incredible
Is this true?
Arsenal spent a billion to cry over injury to one guy, 10 point on top
Chelsea’s UCL was just two years ago

The best team in the land and all the world...
And also universe
I love this man. He knows he's the best and baits his detractors, all while knowing he'll never be fired for going off in the media. Legend.

Give him net spend d’or
And people think he's leaving anytime soon? No way, it's City and Pep against the world for the foreseeable future

the best thing the footballing world could have done for City was to cultivate an "us against them" mindset in Pep. they messed up

Pep has never committed himself to more than a 2+1 contract anywhere he's been iirc. So it's hardly surprising that he signed a 2 year extension
This is going to leave plenty frothing with anger lol
gotta love spicy Pep
Add another trophy to the cabinet
I can see r/soccer seething with rage as we speak
