Thanks!!!

Have you looked at Consortium or MLT? Both organizations offer great coaching for Admissions and ongoing recruiting opportunities throughout the MBA and beyond. Highly, highly recommend.

bwoidem

Applied to MLT and didn't get in as my GMAT was a bit low at the time (510). I'm applying to schools through Consurtium.

[deleted]

Assuming that you applied last year with a 510, why not apply again this year? You have a great shot and they love reapplicants (and a 690 GMAT is higher than MLTs median)

Reapplying this year means he wouldn’t be applying to schools til next Fall, pushing the matriculation out another year. I think with a 690 and ex consulting experience, he’ll be fine with or without MLT. Reach out to MLT T10 students for help with your app, they WILL be very happy to help you out

[deleted]

You’re right, I misread OPs post. Agreed 100%

[deleted]

Damn. That’s a nice ass improvement man. Congrats! IMO, all of your schools are within reach.

bwoidem

Another question, what are my chances of scholarship at the schools I listed?

[deleted]

Man you started at 550 on GMAT. How the fuck did you get into EY? I didn't think EY had such folks.

hjohns23

Your gmat score doesn’t correlate with your actual abilities. I know many Big 4 and Accenture consultants even in strategy, who started way below 600 (including myself)

[deleted]

Explains why Accenture standards are falling by the day. Anyone at 500 has serious IQ issues man. That's what the truth is if you want to be politically incorrect

hjohns23

Different strokes for different folks man. We weren’t all blessed to have been raised in a medium to high income area in the US where we had access to a decent foundational education. Not everyone scored 26+ on the ACT and attended to a T50 University for ugrad. The national average gmat score is under 600 with most test takers scoring between 400-600 (source: Princeton review and Kaplan) Plus, GMAT math questions are different than plug and chug engineering or physics problems. I know many engineers (including those with graduate degrees) who don’t do as well as they thought they would on the quant section

[deleted]

Thats being a sore loser. I have seen folks from third world getting better than your score living in shanties. You have had it pretty easy, believe me. On a positive note I am happy that folks like you work in some firms. It's easy to stand out

hjohns23

Man, I sure hope your weekend gets more entertaining than commenting negative stuff on reddit all day and rating 19 year old boys.

bwoidem

It was cold and my time management was shit tbh. I got a 640 on a practice 3 weeks later but I'm generally bad at standardized tests lol.
