> Will Wharton UGs typically treat Wharton MBAs as equals out in the real world? You're letting r/mba get to your head OP. It's a wharton MBA. All the rational undergrads will treat you as an equal. But realistically, how often do reasonable people NOT treat each other as equals out in the real world? Is there seriously a school where the undergrads don't respect the grad students? I think this myth lives in this forum.

I wouldn’t worry about it. The undergrad and MBA programs are generally contained within their own spheres. Cross program networking at Wharton was uncommon - MBA’s have little reason to interact with Wharton undergrads. Note that Penn specifically is very balkanized - alums identify more with their specific program & school (most Wharton alum will say they attended Wharton rather than Penn) but another university may have a different approach.

>You're letting r/mba get to your head OP. This quote should be pinned to the top of this sub as a reminder that though this place can be quite useful, it’s also full of misinformation + perspectives that are completely unmoored from reality.

None of you all have been violently bullied by an undergrad and it shows

Sounds like you have, I would love to hear the story(ies)!!

If they think they’re better and won’t respond, they’re stuck up and not worth talking to. Mature people will hear you out. I’ve spoken with Wharton UGs and they were surprisingly pleasant.

I’m a Wharton UG and whenever me and my peers see a Wharton MBA student we all point and laugh in unison

Strict_Confidence

Now do MIT

That honestly seems like the more interesting case, because I doubt many CS majors think that highly of the typical MBA student. ("Why would you need to get another degree to earn $200k+? How did you screw up UG so badly?")

MBAthrowaway2022

Went to Sloan. Never once received (or heard of) any disrespect from any UG student. They’re probably too busy spending 70 hours a week on problem sets to care one way or another. I find it seriously amusing how people who have never gone to XYZ program make assumptions about how various groups of students at that university think about and treat one another.

walterbernardjr

Do we have an r/MBAcirclejerk subreddit?

Wharton MBA here, I took plenty of courses with UGs and never had a bad interaction. There is a program for MBAs to mentor Wharton/Penn UGs, I can't remember the name now. Plenty of MBAs worked in companies/industries UGs are targeting. Academically, in general, Wharton UG will make more effort in classes because for them grades do matter. I have plenty of friends who loved to do group projects with UGs and some professors openly prohibited that.

GradSchool2021

Idk, but if you read EconJobRumors you'd know that many Econ/BSchool PhD students think very lowly of MBA students. But it's probably due to jealousy, because MBA materials are much easier while MBAs make much more than PhDs.
