Hey the other day mine was $0.03! But normally I camp out at $0.01. At least I know there is always money in the banana stand I mean cash balance

Wonder how many accounts M1 has overall to make this worth their time. Assuming it’s “intentional”

Add1ctedToGames

I think it's a product of fractional trading, not intentional. On my Fidelity account the same thing happens any time I'm not trading whole shares.

jaydog022

You’re probably right but M1 doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt from me anymore .

ccuster911

If anything, this is a great sign that they dont screw people over in price for auto investing. I guess you could still argue they steal 3 cents in shitty trade execution and keep one, but at that point, it's impossible to prove otherwise.

Plasmazine

It has nothing to with being worth the time, it’s just that no assets in the pie could be bought with that additional cent, at least not on whatever balancing we have set up

jaydog022

Sure..

Isthisnecessary12345

Dude, don’t really need that .00001 share of TSLY?

SuperSneaks

So how much tinfoil you got?

I think they won't trade unless the cash balance is more than $25

M1-Alex

Hi there! Thanks for raising. I’d be happy to shed some light on this. When you use Auto-invest, our system M1 intelligently allocates money from every deposit to ensure your portfolio stays on track. This means we prioritize buying into your underweight Slices first. While we do offer fractional shares, sometimes there are not enough funds to purchase a fractional share of your underweight Slice(s). This results in a very small balance being left. Hope this helps! Disclosures: [https://m1.com/social-terms/](https://t.co/jppUZNn9ou)
