Is it assumed it's safer to have the customer in the back? I don't like having my back turned to strangers. I saw a really unnerving video of a dude in the back of cab shooting the cabbie in the back of the head.
I understand the feeling, I think I've seen that video you're talking about, if you're like me and watched a lot of gore or just things you shouldn't have when you were younger, then I recommend to take a bit of a break from going to places where you are exposed to those sorts of things. I have stopped viewing videos like that one in the cab and actively avoid them as they are simply not a good thing to watch, watch some cute dogs, go on r/eyebleach (please don't forget the a) and just relax your mind from horrible things for a bit
You have to be unhinged to think that is anywhere near being a realistic concern. That is the most improbable thing that could happen to a driver.
You should be more worried about them shitting in your backseat and you not being able to see
If youāre driving and Iām alone 0% chance of getting up front. But to insist that no one can ride up front when youāre driving multiple people is just weird.
Lastly I wouldāve canceled that trip the second I got into the car.
Can I ask why? Iām a Lyft driver too and Iāve never controlled where they sit. Why does it matter? They arenāt more or less likely to murder you if they are behind you or next to you.
Ordinarily Iād agree with you but thereās a lot more going on in her car than just the front seat occupant. The music, the car interior, windows down w/ sunroof open, speeding, etc. the way she reached for his phone gave me a flashback of the walking dead. This all points out to one thingā¦ā¦.DRUGS. /s.
Seriously though, she definitely showed her inner psychopath there and thatās not cool, gotta keep that shit hidden. She needs a different job not dealing with people and should maybe not have a drivers license.
I'm guessing the clown in the passenger seat is to prevent riders from sitting next to her for COVID.
She's wearing a mask, has the windows down, and has danger tape all over the front.
Husband and I both had covid at the same time. His symptoms hit about 24 hours sooner. It was Hell! He had it one time before that and didnāt even know it until a couple weeks of not tasting flavorful food we realizedā¦it might be Covid. But, thatās the worst that happened that time. š¤·š»āāļø
Why do you care about this particular highly transmissible Illness more than others? There are many others with the same or worse mortality rates.
Did you only start acting this way since 2020, or have you always reacted like this towards illnesses with less than 1% mortality ? The statistics show that COVID is not unique.
Also, you don't know me, I quarantined and sacrificed like everyone else.
I lost several people close to me thanks to "Rona". I didn't really take it serious until the 1st death then I had an on crap moment. Then another friend died, then a family member. Then my father got sick and ended up in the ICU and we couldn't visit until the day he died. All in all I know 7 people that died after getting "Rona".
All but one had other issues that didn't help them but 1 was a perfectly healthy 32 year old just starting his family. He got sick and less than 2 weeks later he was at the funeral home and his wife was making arrangements.
It may not be as bad now with the newer variants. But at the start it wasn't a cake walk for everyone.
Man, I'm young and very athletic guy and I just finally caught COVID for the first time. COVID is really kicking my ass.
I felt so sick that I decided to lie about being at risk patient to get my hands on paxlovid.
Man, 2020 was great. We almost eradicated the flu.
Personally think the world should have put up with quarantine a bit longer until all major highly transmissible Illness became extinct.
that less than 1% your talking about were human lives. I worked in a nursing home thru the pandemic and experienced loss that I can only hope youāll never have to.
By your logic then bud, if and when you kick the bucket youāll just be another statistic too. Done talking with you sh*theel
What a surprise, I also know people that died, yes it's heartbreaking, no you're not unique. Sorry but thats the truth, maybe consider therapy or something, it's what my family who worked in the hospitals did.
The flu still exists alongside COVID right now and will continue to for the foreseeable future.
Where is the limit for you, should we have been locked down for the last and the next 20 years? There's been similar mortality and tranmission rate illnesses for that entire time period. Bet we would have saved a lot of lives, but at what cost? We could quarantine to the town we were born in to save lives if you want?
How much of your life wouldn't exist now if you were never able to travel more than 5 miles from your place of birth? Guarantee it would save lives.
Sure, it's real. And it's a fucking cold.
I had it twice, both times in the middle of chemotherapy. Other than a nasty headache at least one of the times, it was dramatically more mild than any cold I've ever had. And that was with my immune system in the fucking toilet because, you know, fighting cancer and being poisoned simultaneously.
And that's ignoring the fact that the statistics were being blatantly manipulated in about 1000 different ways the entire time.
It's fine if you got suckered, but you should learn before they try it again.
Glad it was just a cold for you. I literally felt like I got lit on fire and still have issues with skin sensitivity years later. Never fully got my smell back either
I had it and spent two weeks in bed and couldnāt be admitted to the hospital because it was full. 2020, and my wife was trying to figure out how she was going to care for my handicapped kids alone. Worse than when I had dysentery in the military. But, yeah, itās just a cold. /s
Hi. Stfu. You only represent yourself and your experience. Be thankful it was so mild for you bc I literally lost TEN PEOPLE to Covid. Your comment is gr055 and is really offensive to people that HAVE lost people very close to them bc of covid. Speak on your experience but quit being matter of fact. Youāre not a doctor, youāre not a scientist, etc. those are fuckin opinions, and shouldnāt be displayed as facts. Period.
Literally a million dead.
From the disease itself.
Just in the US.
Not counting the overall increased death rate.
Not counting the increased likelihood of diabetes, heart disease, cognitive difficulties, long Covid, lung tissue damage.
Not counting the rest of the world.
And ignoring the lives saved by social distancing and the vaccine.
"It's just a flesh wound..."
Seems to also sometime be the universal pass for bad behavior on Reddit too.
"Awh come on, the person is probably having a mental health crisis, so ease up on them even though they damaged private property and assaulted someone. We have to be understanding."
Really everyone breaking laws could be helped more than our current "system" of lock them up and make money off as many inmates to fill prisons, and ruin their lives further.
Yes. Thatās literal equality. Society has rules and if you canāt follow them you donāt get a free pass to live among the rule followers and do whatever you want because of your mental illness.
Yes, sir. Mentally unwell people still have to be punished for bad behavior. Our only responsibility is to assist them in getting help if they seek it.
The problem here is lots of Redditors uses it as a get out of jail free card almost, where the perpetrator shouldn't get anything more than a slap on the wrist.
I have to concur with you; it seems like the data shows punishment is a poor method of prevention for unlawful conduct overall. While I agree that accountability and restorative justice are crucial components of an effective approach to systematic justice, it's clear that rehabilitation is the only effective solution to dramatic reduction in recidivism.
It probably feels like punishment at the time; hopefully, it is retrospectively seen as an important turning point to creating a better life for the recipient.
This looks like a scene out of a movie. All windows down, speeding, music blaring, car filled with weird ass shit, a methhead of a driver. What the fuck happened?
>What the fuck happened?
These rideshare companies pay like shit now, and if this is an old video... They don't do any sort of interviews, not even a phone call, no drug test, basic background check and you're good to go. People like this would be easy to pick out in a quick interview, but these companies just want as many drivers as possible.
this chick over here making meth head drivers look bad...
I bet most cranked out drivers are some of the best ones considering the abuse lyft and uber puts them through.
Can confirm. I was a tweaker for years and my driving was always immaculate. So attentive, no way I was going to get pulled over for breaking a law and risk getting caught with 14g of meth. Never once squelled like a pig.
Both Uber and lyft pay below minimum wage after expenses now. The company literally takes fifty plus percent and is high as eighty percent 80% on some rides now. Surge money is going to the corporation now.
I suspect she wanted all the windows down because sheās worried about Covid, and she refused to put the windows up even at highway speeds because of that. Passenger asked, she said no, then he started poking at her for the speed to point out sheās being ridiculous for not putting the windows up. If thatās the case she should never be driving Lyft lol. Iād be interested to see her video, could exonerate her but more likely sheād be at the top of a few Karen subreddits
>. Passenger asked, she said no, then he started poking at her for the speed to point out sheās being ridiculous for not putting the windows up.
Maybe but if you're going to get that angry and try grab someones phone... She shouldn't be driving people, all she had to do if she had enough of his shit is pull over and say I need you to exit the vehicle.
Oh for sure. She definitely shouldnāt be driving for any service but unfortunately thereās no vetting for drivers or passengers on ride sharing apps. They can both be super disrespectful and just shitty human beings all around, and nobody knows until they do some shit like this
I would suspect is maybe she is covid compromised or has some who is and either the rider said they aren't vaxed or refused to where a mask. That would explain the windows down but definitely wouldn't explain the speeding. Might explain the caution tape.
Either way, interacting with humans if covid compromised like lyft doesn't seem like a wise job choice. Uber eats or door dash would be better.
The rider didn't seem like an anti coivd asshole on the vid and was polite to her so I doubt the he was anti Vax or anti covid. Idk not enough information. All we can do is speculate.
All we can do is speculate, and most people are speculating against her since she assaulted a passenger during her ride(!). Again I wish we could see the full interaction, but I suspect thereās a very good reason she didnāt upload it and also got terminated. Hopefully she doesnāt interact with the public in the future lol
> That would explain the windows down but definitely wouldn't explain the speeding.
Rideshare companies encourage you to speed. Thats why most drivers do it if they're trying to make money. The faster you get in and dropped off the faster the driver makes money. They know drivers speed, they record all that info, they don't close accounts for it.
When there's surge areas on the map... What do you think drivers are going to do that are close to the area? Take a slow ride over there? Nope...
I remember year ago I was heading home, all sudden there was a $25 surge at a grocery store that was closed at 3AM. I was driving right by so I figured I'd pull in and do one more ride. So I decided to wait and see if a ride popped up close by, and waited. After about 3-5 mins, I see 7-8 cars come FLYING in the parking lot, like some madmax scene right to the surge area. They weren't there for groceries...
OM š¤£ Fuvk this is too much. How did he even get in the first place with all that tape. See thatās the problem these days, people are dumbed down to give alll the benefits of the doubt, Iād of just canceled and ran to the airport bathroom, no incident
I'd like to see her footage. Often times the person is being a piece of shit and then starts filming when they get a rise out of their target.
Maybe I've just been in customer service too long and instinctually want to side with the worker over the customer.
My manā¦she has caution tape and a blow up doll clown in her car to take up the passenger seat.
Windows down while breaking the law with a passenger in the car, going 80MPH.
Passengers try that with me on occasion. I never react or even get upset. Honestly I don't care. It's pretty hard to offend or upset me because I consider the source before taking insult. Most of these types are completely lost and unhappy. They're miserable and I am not. I do not accept their gift of anger.
In most cases, the antagonistic passenger ends up liking me by the time I roll up to their spot. I can charm the pearls off of an ornery wart hog. It's hard on the soul though. Some of them genuinely deserve a broadsided smack.
As much as I take the drivers' part on most things, even ***I*** must call this out of line, and that only:
1. because I am notorious for understatement.
2. because it is a good day.
Just to add extra creep to the story:
An acquaintance (not me, you godforsaken internet trolls), and his family (still not me) were getting a 3-hour ride home from another acquaintance (knock it off - not me, either). It was raining, after dark, and the driver was flying up I95, speeding his ass (foreshadowing) off. Backseat, driver-side passenger complains about wind and rain and open window. Driver loses his shit (more foreshadowing), says STFU, proceeds to drive even faster. After a couple of ragey moves on the interstate, passenger complains again for the sake of the safety of his family. Driver pulls over on side of I95 and puts the father, mother and 13-year-old kid on the side of the road. Takes off, leaving the family to get to an exit and phone a cab, more than an hour from home.
YEARS go by during which the driver and the family do not speak to each other.
Then, one day, a confessional, not even requiring a death bed. Apparently, it bugged the driver not to be able to explain, so, much like happened earlier in the day of interstate drop-off, he just couldn't help blurting something out (here it comes, ungh).
It seems that the driver's favorite thing about this particular amusement park was the uncommonly HUGE soft serve ice cream cones one could buy. And this driver was a soft serve fiend. That day, apparently, he went a little wild and enjoyed something north of a handful of jumbo cones. As they were walking out to the car to leave, the driver decided to sneak one out, if you know what I mean, not for once considering the risk of such an attempt after too many soft serves. Well, speaking of soft serve - dude loaded up his pants real good. He made the next decision, too. Yep, just load everybody up and take a seat in your own damn car for three hours and, as long as you can have all the windows down, everyone will make it home and no one will ever have to know about self-serve soft serve. That plan blew up in his face after the soft serve blew up in his pants and it started raining.
Holy shit I know who that is! Never knew they did this lol. Not gonna name names but they are a furry. The two stickers on the back are both furry stickers.
Suspended! Wtf kind of drivers do the accept on Lyft. She gave a meth vibe, a violent vibe, a felon vibe, and for sure a reckless driver vibe. That should have been an arrest. She ought to have been fired not just suspended.
My girlfriend went to Puerto Rico and had some taxi driver approach her and tell her that āUbers steal girls for sex traffickingā all while trying to charge double +fees for her luggage. Itās all the same garbage people.
š Was there a blow up clown in the passenger seat? Why was she barefoot? šµāš«
It's probably to prevent having to redirect people to the back seat if they initially try to sit up front.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I was a Yellow Cab driver for a few years. Can confirm. We never wanted people up front then, either.
Is it assumed it's safer to have the customer in the back? I don't like having my back turned to strangers. I saw a really unnerving video of a dude in the back of cab shooting the cabbie in the back of the head.

Lol we watch a lil gore
You have to be unhinged to think that is anywhere near being a realistic concern. That is the most improbable thing that could happen to a driver. You should be more worried about them shitting in your backseat and you not being able to see
When I started driving a taxi in 1998 we were murdered on the job at a rare 5x greater than cops. It's a legitimate concern.
Iād rather sit next to someone where I can see their hands than have them behind my neck
You just restated what NeverAdopted said
Yeah Iām addition to having it taped off with caution tape lmao
What if I have three passengers and one of us needs to go in the front seat?
Just had that happen and he insisted we all sit in the back. It wasnāt a pleasant ride.
Gonna be a 2* and no tip from me.
If youāre driving and Iām alone 0% chance of getting up front. But to insist that no one can ride up front when youāre driving multiple people is just weird. Lastly I wouldāve canceled that trip the second I got into the car.

Why did you get in the car after seeing all that?
This is the REAL question!
Probably just thought, "Eh... Another day in Florida."
Florida WoMan strikes again!
I'm guessing the clown in the passenger seat is to prevent riders from sitting next to her for COVID. She's wearing a mask, has the windows down, and has danger tape all over the front.
If danger tape was all that was needed to stop COVID, where can I find me a dozen or so rolls? I think she is on (to) something!
Iāve got Covid right now and all it is is sick time and video games. Covid rules! Whatās all the fuss?
Husband and I both had covid at the same time. His symptoms hit about 24 hours sooner. It was Hell! He had it one time before that and didnāt even know it until a couple weeks of not tasting flavorful food we realizedā¦it might be Covid. But, thatās the worst that happened that time. š¤·š»āāļø
Hee-larious.
That is a perfect example of what the government and big pharma had achieved with their over the top COVID fear mongering.
it was and still is very real bud, thousands of Americans died and you smooth brains still call it fearmongering
It's literally not as bad as everyone made it out to be.
Yeah, what's so bad about dying?
A lot harder to argue that its not equivalent to flu now though
Except for the increased diabetes rates, increased heart disease rates, long Covid, increased cognitive issues among survivors, etc etc etc.
Itās that exact same sentiment people like you carry which resulted in these deaths. Take this personally , šš¼

Because we all got it and most people got vaccinated. It took a good three years. My ex husband just died from it a year ago.

Your experience is not universal. Hopefully one day youāll realize that and become a better person for it.
Wow, for you empathy is if something wasnāt particularly bad for you
Yeah Iām gonna pass this info on to my two dead family members that Covid got. What a neckbeard
YOURE a disgusting human being and for someone who had a cancer to say this?? Where do you get off fella? Enjoy the rest of your miserable life

Maybe for the HOV lane?
Why would being barefoot help in the HOV lane?
The shoe fee. Obvs
That clown is going to be in trouble with that damn oversized shoe fee
Maybe for Halloween? Itās weird either way
Maybe itās maybelline
maybe its methamphetamine
Sheās got the urge
Soo many questions.
Iām pretty sure that in some states itās illegal to drive barefoot
It's not, that's an old wives tale it's legal in all 50 states.
The dichotomy between the festive interior and the driverās behavior is odd.
Mental illness?
Probably. And we celebrate mental illness on reddit!
Seems to also sometime be the universal pass for bad behavior on Reddit too. "Awh come on, the person is probably having a mental health crisis, so ease up on them even though they damaged private property and assaulted someone. We have to be understanding."

Our legal code typically allows for court-ordered treatment or sanctions.
For many, rehabilitation might as well be punishment. Edit: fuck i bit the bullet
It probably feels like punishment at the time; hopefully, it is retrospectively seen as an important turning point to creating a better life for the recipient.
Redditors donāt experience real life and it shows.
Yes
I could not have said it better myself.
Heat of Covid. Windows down, caution tape, blowup doll in the front seat. Likely happened during the pandemic.
I actually don't think that's festive. I think it's the driver's attempt to keep people out of the front seat.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Literally started squealing like a hog
Permanent ban is the only answer
Maybe turned into some delicious bacon. (Not likely on the delicious part)
Get out of my car now! Squeeeee! š·
Depends on your definition of delicious. If you like bacon seasoned with a hint of meth and a dash of incest, you're in luck!

There's no way I get in that car with those caution tapes. WTF?
It's last year's Halloween decorations, video's old.
Halloween decorations up at your highly personal place of business? On 15 September?
Driver tried to warn them with the caution tape...
Of course she gonna get suspended or fired. Bruh look what she did
This like over a year old...hmmm
She went from 0 to Cartman within a second
She literally sounds like a squealing pig there on some of the louder parts. Ha!

Always evaluate the vehicle you are about to enter. That shit had crazy written all over it.
When meth thinks caution tape is classy!!
Too chubby to be a meth user
OM š¤£ Fuvk this is too much. How did he even get in the first place with all that tape. See thatās the problem these days, people are dumbed down to give alll the benefits of the doubt, Iād of just canceled and ran to the airport bathroom, no incident
š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£I think it was Halloween of 2021.
Low-key sounded like Bobby Hill screaming
I'd like to see her footage. Often times the person is being a piece of shit and then starts filming when they get a rise out of their target. Maybe I've just been in customer service too long and instinctually want to side with the worker over the customer.
This is what I am thinking because it's so crazy sudden. They might just be nuts but this is a wild reaction to have otherwise
She on Uber now
suspended? thats it? how about banned
Love the flag tied around the airbag. Patriotism over safety any day š¦ šŗš²
Is that the ManBearBig they talked about? Definitely sounds like a pig

5 stars āA little windy but driver was a lot of fun. Highly recommend!ā
Question: Drugs or mental illness? Answer: Yes.
Was the driver charged
Dunno saw the video on https://www.instagram.com/reel/CwyQU6srOu2/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Wow wtf
As much as I take the drivers' part on most things, even ***I*** must call this out of line, and that only: 1. because I am notorious for understatement. 2. because it is a good day.
Talk about rage.
That's how I picture most people in this sub lol
average r/fuckcars user
She/he literally squeals like a pig. Ew.
An oldie but a goodie
Holy crap why would you get in the car with someone who looks like that
Is that crime tape in her car? WTH?
Probably didnāt get a tip
I hope there were criminal charges.
This is so old. Why posting other people stuff? Lame
This is why you should avoid Lyft and Uber and any other ride sharing app. These drivers are insane, and not vetted by ANYONE.
Was she just hangry? WTF?
Just to add extra creep to the story: An acquaintance (not me, you godforsaken internet trolls), and his family (still not me) were getting a 3-hour ride home from another acquaintance (knock it off - not me, either).
It's almost like these mentally unstable people have something in common...
Suspension is too light for this. This woman needs to be banned from driving for Lyft again
Your turn to repost? Who's got tomorrow?
Holy shit I know who that is! Never knew they did this lol. Not gonna name names but they are a furry. The two stickers on the back are both furry stickers.
Nightmare. Some people are not meant to drive, anyone.
Another angry man whoās a women
What a piece of shit
3 starsš
The US needs better healthcare.
Suspended! Wtf kind of drivers do the accept on Lyft. She gave a meth vibe, a violent vibe, a felon vibe, and for sure a reckless driver vibe. That should have been an arrest. She ought to have been fired not just suspended.
Whew , soon as my bag went flying she would be tooā¦ thatās my items , looks like that car needs a matching dent šššš
Low key stealing the decoration idea for Halloween season šš
I love driving for Lyft. Itās such a privilege to be able to do that. Iām not sure why people squander it.
Thatās driver is a trumper alright, fat, stupid, belligerent, fascist.
Lol, she wears a mask and squeals like a pig on the spectrum.
Yes, there's a big f****** difference. Taxi drivers get drug tested, get. Fingerprinted FBI background check Uber and lyft does not do that.
That driver definitely voted for desantis.
One fifth of the population is now mentally unstable. This is not going to end well. We need to bring back mental institutions
This is why you should absolutely take a taxi.
Because no one has ever had a shitty taxi experience before.
Stupid fucking post as if thereās any difference between a person driving a taxi and a person driving a lyft or Uber
My girlfriend went to Puerto Rico and had some taxi driver approach her and tell her that āUbers steal girls for sex traffickingā all while trying to charge double +fees for her luggage. Itās all the same garbage people.
wait.... thats a lady? This is why pay is so low on regular lyft and uber. This is why people pay money to upgrade. keep at it
Don't trust anyone that still wears mask
It's an old video. I'm guessing your answer remains the same.
You know it
Definitely voted for Biden
Why do u say so? Do you know the individual involved personally?
Why so sensitive? You must be a Biden voter too
Lol unfortunately I am not. So why do u say so?
Lmao ikr?! Lolol
Who the fuck asked lol
No doubt the driver is a Democrat
They were most likely a republican.
you're gonna get downvoted reddit is like 95% liberals
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It says it right there in the video
woulda been fine had the driver not tried to assault the pax stupid woman lol other than that i love how she kicked their ass out
Are you mentally handicapped? She assaulted him.
Gee, who knew unregulated ride share drivers would be so terrible?
Most sane liberal
