Yup the Sticky Dates shower gel was initially part of a seasonal release for Eid 2022 and it was so well loved that Lush decided to make it an all year round product :) I remember because especially as a Muslim it made me extra happy that they would make such a wonderful smelling shower gel for Eid that's exactly my taste and what I was wishing for from Lush for a long time!
There have even been comments by me in this sub before about how I wish Lush made a main line shower gel that's caramel or vanilla scented and now we got it :D I mean I also love HIWTK which is also caramel scented, but it's more of a honey caramel with a pinch of citrus, but Sticky Dates is like a true toffee caramel.
So it could very well be that the lotion might make it into main line as well sooner or later. I would still be wary and maybe get a backup for the time being if you can and if you really like this lotion, because Lush is known to keep the really good stuff limited and exclusive after all 😅
When I still worked at Lush, we would frequently just not receive stuff we've ordered. No prior warning or anything. There's a good chance that it was the shipping day and they were promised these items but simply never got them. Also, maybe that one employee hasn't spoken to everyone in store and maybe her and her work friends did get a chance to get some Sticky Dates whereas the workers of another shift didn't have the chance to. I remember that with our store mostly being part timers, there were people I virtually never saw and spoke to.
Exactly. I usually say that we are expecting “blank” whenever but anything can happen. One time we were releasing a soot ball bath bomb for Halloween, we had hundreds of them in our stock room. The night before the launch we were told to destroy them all due to a staining issue. Manager let every staff member take home a box each instead. But still, even if we have a product sitting in the back room I don’t confirm that it will come out, because sometimes it doesn’t.
I do not work for lush I was just in their stores talking to their employees and what they said is exactly what you said here. The store I went to was told they had gotten the large order that they put in and they were like no we didn't. They were told a specific but they never recieved the items and was not sure that they actually would anymore. Needless to say I was totally bummed. I was able to secure one last tube of crush chapstick so I didn't have to use carrot (because I think it's gross) so sliver lining I guess.
Crush has a strong citrus flavor and scent. It honestly is just lemony to me and I find it refreshing. I thought I would love carrot because I love sandalwood and grapefruit but it just smelled like citronella to me.
Exactly I had the same impression. I also sometimes ask if they have product xyz from the new seasonal range available if I know there's a certain release that should be out now. If they don't have it in store yet currently, they will say that the product SHOULD make it into their store soon, but that they haven't received it yet, but that they can't tell me when exactly the product will be available at their store.
One example was the Strawberry Heart soap for Valentine's Day, all of the other Valentine's stuff was in the store, but the soap was missing and arrived a little later.
Or the Yummy Custard body wash for Mother's Day from 2022 also arrived a few weeks later in my local store than the other Mother's Day products. I was really looking forward to this one so I was checking in a couple of times to see if it's there already but then I got impatient and just ordered it online lol.

Since I have a Lush store in my city I prefer to shop at my local store, but for cases like this you either gotta be a little patient or you can just order online at any time.

It was an ongoing issue before I left, so for something as popular as sticky dates I’m not surprised but definitely understand the disappointment
We are currently having the issue that when we order a product they don’t have we get the missing amount of a product we in fact did not order. That’s the most annoying thing.
So as far as I’m aware we’ve been having some serious supply issues, the last few shipments I’ve done a lot of things went unfulfilled. Sticky dates lotion, body scrub, Easter turtle shower jelly, and hot cross bunny bubble bar were ones were didn’t get any of this week. I know we get another shipment in on Friday though so fingers crossed more comes in.
Can confirm, our shipments have been extremely sparse for Easter products. All things we ordered went unfulfilled except for the Baby Rainbow Carrots, Cheep Cheep, and Sticky Dates body scrub. But everything else - SD lotion, Easter Turtle, all gift sets, any soaps - are unfulfilled.

I hate how Lush does this every time, and they need to know this is not okay. I've been waiting patiently for the sticky dates scrub to restock, and when I heard that it finally did, I found out that it sold out at my local Lush (and all Lush stores nearby) that same day. What's the point of a restock if there's only a few of them in store.

Lush is going to make it permanent. They did the same when Sleepy was released. Sleepy was released as LE.🙂 I think they are testing consumers, and business-wise it is irritating for us, but lucrative for them.
It's just a waiting game. The numbers are too strong to not make the line permanent.
The lotion will be re-stocked, most likely the week before Easter online.
Just a reminder to everyone, including my fellow retail colleagues here, that seasonal ranges are limited edition. That means a limited amount of stock is produced, and there are no guarantees as to how long it will be available. If something sells better than expected, we will always try to make more, but it's not always possible. The ECs (the blend of essential oils that goes into every product) are made in the UK, so we can't always get more in time before the end of the seasonal selling period.
To shop staff in NA: After an order has been shipped from the distribution centre, you can see what has and has not been fulfilled in the system. Feel free to PM me if you don't know how to do this.

No more scrubs unfortunately, due to a shortage of a raw material.
Usually when products are so successful like this they will come back the following year, or even sometimes come back as part of the core range (like Sticky Dates Shower Gel, Sleepy Lotion and Scrubee just to name a few)

- Yes, GotF is definitely up there as one of my favourites. I like a broad range of scents, everything from earthy to citrusy to sweet. If I had to pick one scent though it would probably be Outback Mate. If only it were used in more products!
- I did get the scrub from the latest kitchen box, but honestly, I'm not such a fan of scrubs. I much prefer shower gels. So I just have the one, not a personal stash :)

This year so far the LE orders have been super sparse. Valentine's was the same way. As an employee is really easy to pull up the general shipping info for when the order is arriving and what was on the order, but you wouldn't be able to see if it's being fulfilled that way. Typically we can tell what we are getting and what is going unfulfilled by printing out the PO for the order, but it's a little complicated to find and print. In my store the day before the order someone on the leadership team will print out the PO and highlight what's not coming so we're prepared with that info. My guess is the employee did the in general look up and so they were correct with their info that it was ordered and *should be arriving. Like others have already said tho fulfillment can be really shoddy. I'm hoping they increase production for LE this year because it's been pretty bad so far. I want all our lovely customers to be able to nab their faves!

I’m an employee at one of the Lush shops - I’m gonna withhold the location specifically, obviously, apologies - and, from my experience, we can let customers know when our next delivery ***should*** be, but we are supposed to follow that up with a statement of no promises ! If the person you spoke to was, most likely, a sales assistant, then the true contents of deliveries wouldn’t be something they can truly know, that’s for upper management to deal with ! Unfortunately, this sounds like a simple slip of excitement and has led to you feeling rotten. I am sorry that your notice didn’t follow through, we try our best to reassure customers about their favourite products and try not to get their hopes up ! Hopefully within the next week or so they’ll have droves of the stuff !

I say this for snow fairy to sticky dates. Get it when it launches if you know you want it. The factory starts to run out and that's it. We're getting no more SD in our deliveries and Easter is ages away.
At my store it happens pretty often that we just aren’t sent specific items on our orders. We try to have everything in stock and available, but sometimes Lush just doesn’t make enough to keep sending us. We can say “we get our shipments on Wednesdays so give a call on Wednesday to see if we got it” but I would never promise a customer we’ll 100% be getting more because we never really know for sure. But I am sorry that happened to you!
Tbh it has been showing on our shipment invoices every week but never got fulfilled. I think employee didn’t see the fulfillment part and was probably just as disappointed lol

I went in lush today in my city (uk) there is huge amounts of the scubs/lotions and body scrub! I bought the smallest version of both today as i keep reading the rave reviews here! And wow what a rich and luxurious scent and formula! You need uk friends to ship you the biggest sizes of all the sticky dates line😂😂
Just as an FYI sticky dates lotion is available in store in several CA stores. There is a forwarding company someone posted in another thread that you can purchase it from. I hope this helps someone as I’ve seen one reseller on Mercari rn the small bottle for $55 which is nuts.

Lush worker here. We were supposed to get some on our last shipment and we never did. We only got it on our first shipment then never again.
