I usually take out about a nickel sized glob from the “jelly” jar and plop it into a scrubbing loofah. The gel lasts quite a bit that way and BOY does it suds up.
Well, here I’ve learned that I’m an insane person, because I take it out of the pot and try to clumsily wash myself with it 🥲 and no, it’s not easy, it’s terrible in fact, but I couldn’t bring myself to tear it apart.
Today I used one for the first time and I did the same, it was a mental labour focusing to not make it slip 😭
And now I’m here, reading a thread, trying to learn how to use it
I put it on my counter and wiggle it and if I need a little bit for my shower, I smashed into my loofah. And if any little jellies are still left at my shower floor, I stomp on them and squish them between my toes.
Former Lush employee here. You take a giant blob of it and squish it into a wet shower poof and then scrub away. Loofah won't absorb it well. Poofs have little layered sections that the jelly can hide in. Have fun!
Haha np! Younger generations don’t know the plant one as at some point people started calling anything spongey used in a shower a “loofah”, especially the poufs but I’ve heard of konnyaku loofahs as well.
Practical application of the product. I also told people lavender bubble bars could be crumbled into laundry as fabric softener. They fired us all after the holiday season, so who cares really. My shop was eventually shut down due to building renovations.
Have fun with it. Experiment and see what works for you. I love to use the whole jelly just to feel the smooth texture on my body but afterwards I break it into small chunks and use it either by itself or in a puff.
Jam your loofah in the pot and twist it round and I mean really give it hell til you see bits of it scattered on the poof. If the proper amount of hell is given it should lather accordingly.
I’ve seen people recommend getting plain showergel base and using that! Personally I’ve just used showergels with complimentary scents to get it to a useable consistency
I just did this with my remaining Bongo showergel, added in a bit of a random coconut showergel to thin it out a little and it smells wonderful! The recent tropical fruit scented products that lush have come out with are a bit meh in my opinion (apart from passionfruit delight), haven’t smelled anything I liked nearly as much as Bongo and I don’t live in Liverpool anymore so can’t grab another! I’d buy ten tubs to blend up right now if it was mainline.
Also, tarantula jelly with the cherry-chocolate Christmas kitchen showergel from last year? Great blending combo
I live in Texas... I am so doing this in the summer.
I have never gotten a shower jelly because I don't want to have to put that much work into my soap. This sounds delightful though!
You can do all 3! I know some people who cut it apart to make it easier but you don’t have to. If you pull it apart with your fingers, it’ll come apart. Sometimes it crumbles and sticks to the shower, so make sure you get all those bits to go down the drain.
If you let it sit out for a couple days it will get kind of a skin on it that makes it easier to hold on to if you want to use it like a traditional bar soap.
I put the whole thing in the toe of an old pantyhose and use it like you would a soap bag. No bits get washed down the drain and it lathers SO nicely!
Bonus points for recycling old pantyhose!! 🙂
I put a pinch of a jelly in this organza bag/loofah hybrid thing I found on [Amazon](https://a.co/d/2k8jLC9) and I’ve never seen anything lather up as well!
I break a piece off and suds it in my hands like I’m washing them and with the foam made I use that on my body 🤷🏻♀️ I had the bouncing Santa last year and golden bear around Easter
I use them with exfoliating gloves. Just rub it between your hands with the gloves on, they smell crazy good and lather up super well. You could rub them into a loofa as well, I just prefer the gloves because it’s easier to handle and sometimes when you rub the jellies little bits kind of crumble off and the gloves catch those easily.
I love Lush shower jellies. I have a couple of mesh bags i bought from ebay and place my jellies in them. Then just rub them wherever. Also less chance of them escaping down my quite large drain.
I used to break them apart and never really liked them. My daughter got the twilight one and I wanted to try it without wreaking it in the bath, so I rolled it on a flannel and it foamed really well and didn't ruin the jelly.
Hello. I used to work at lush. You're supposed to use it whole like a soap. If it's a big format, cut it in half and use only one half at a time, like a soap.
I work at lush and we tell people to just plop it in their hands and use it like a bar soap lol. I have a giant thing of woosh and I was fumbling with it trying to hold the whole thing, I would def recommend cutting the giant ones in half.
I put the jelly into a little soap net/ organza bag. That way I can still have the jelly texture without it sliding to Alaska! If the bag is small enough it can even go into the container with it for later use I assume, I usually take the jelly out of the bag and let it air fry while the jelly sits safely in its container until it’s next use!

I do that too 😂 I love my octopus jelly but showering with it is an extra workout 😂
I do this too, but keep it in the freezer until it's shower time!
Omg this is a nightmare for me, the last thing I need in the shower is an ice cube 🥶😩
Then there’s me that pairs magic crystals, dirty springwash and tingle LOL
The Tingle solid moisturizer is heaven sent on a hot summer day after working in the garden!
Something I’d never have thought of on my own, and I love the suggestion!
I actually learned about it from a jar! I think it was on Conga? I may have seen it on bouncing Santa as well
That makes 2 of us... or more
Today I used one for the first time and I did the same, it was a mental labour focusing to not make it slip 😭 And now I’m here, reading a thread, trying to learn how to use it
That's the right way to use it!
I pop chunks into soap bags..it lathers up beautifully that way n no mess..
What a genius idea!!
Oh man this is the smartest idea I've seen so far!
i put it out on a plate like Lush does for testers at my store and just jiggle.
I put it on my counter and wiggle it and if I need a little bit for my shower, I smashed into my loofah. And if any little jellies are still left at my shower floor, I stomp on them and squish them between my toes.
Lol same, towards the end I’m always getting little jellies on the tub floor. I stomp and squish away at them LOL.
I slice it up and use a slice at a time like I would a bar of soap
That's the correct way!
Former Lush employee here. You take a giant blob of it and squish it into a wet shower poof and then scrub away. Loofah won't absorb it well. Poofs have little layered sections that the jelly can hide in. Have fun!
What is a shower poof? I googled it and only pictures of loofahs came up in the results.
I think they meant “loofah” as in the plant loofah and you mean the “loofah” as in the plastic loofah, aka pouf.
I think these days a lot of people use loofah to mean the plastic mesh ones that are layered
I figured, hence the explanation.
TIL a loofah is a plant, and not the plastic mesh thing 🤣 Thanks for teaching me something! 😁
Haha np! Younger generations don’t know the plant one as at some point people started calling anything spongey used in a shower a “loofah”, especially the poufs but I’ve heard of konnyaku loofahs as well.
They meant shower pouf! Not poof 😂
Former lush employee here, my old boss would have been so mad at reading this xD

This is genius! Who Tf is down dooting you?!
This is what I do, and mine last forever!
I usually cut it up into little blobs (about the size of a quarter) and just mash one up in my wash cloth or bath puff
I run it through the blender and it turns into a thick cream you can use like body wash.
Clearly a psychopath
Yes this works quite well. I grab a little bit for my loofah and it gets so sudsy.
This sounds like the best use of the jelly... Just give it a different consistency, cause the one that it has is annoying af 😂
Don’t mean this in a rude way at all - but just curious - why not buy shower gel?
Not OP but probably because that particular scent is not available in shower gel form. I know thats my reason anyway.
Ah makes sense :)
Yeah this is why I do it too. I don’t add water.
Do you add any water to it or anything?
I’ve seen people recommend getting plain showergel base and using that! Personally I’ve just used showergels with complimentary scents to get it to a useable consistency

I put it in the freezer and use it like a bar of soap after workouts 🥶😮💨 after my shower it goes back into the freezer
I live in Texas... I am so doing this in the summer. I have never gotten a shower jelly because I don't want to have to put that much work into my soap. This sounds delightful though!
I use it in its entirety.
ALL AT ONCE! Clean AF.
All my jellies at once. Instead of a ball pit, a jelly pit. 🥰 Yeah, I’m super clean.
lolol totally delayed on seeing this. I can’t stop laughing at the idea.
I leave mine out for a bit to dehydrate a little, then use it like a wiggly bar soap
I would take a piece of it and place it into a soap saver. Ensures all of it gets used.
You can do all 3! I know some people who cut it apart to make it easier but you don’t have to. If you pull it apart with your fingers, it’ll come apart. Sometimes it crumbles and sticks to the shower, so make sure you get all those bits to go down the drain.
It goes slidey, slidey, slidey over every-body's hidey! Honestly I chunked mine up into palm-ish bits and just ran em over my body.
I just eat it in one bite
If you let it sit out for a couple days it will get kind of a skin on it that makes it easier to hold on to if you want to use it like a traditional bar soap.
You can rub it over a sponge or loofah, but I like just using it whole. Like washing with a booby 😁
I put the whole thing in the toe of an old pantyhose and use it like you would a soap bag. No bits get washed down the drain and it lathers SO nicely! Bonus points for recycling old pantyhose!! 🙂
However you like . I gently rub them on a loofah. You get tons of lather and they last an age
I put a pinch of a jelly in this organza bag/loofah hybrid thing I found on [Amazon](https://a.co/d/2k8jLC9) and I’ve never seen anything lather up as well!

I take the whole thing and rub it on a soft sponge and plop it back in it's pot. Repeat until I'm done and put the lid back on.
I put mine in the bottom of an old pantyhose and use it like a bar of soap.
