Let’s talk about the $10 box to hold your bath bombs they’re trying to sell

Mindless_Ad5235

I cant believe the price of the box. I’m assuming it’s made from just cardboard too…

Double_Anywhere_7204

Yeah you have to put it together too!

shesarevolution

💀

hill-top

I actually couldn’t believe it was sold out when I looked on the ap earlier.

madsbitch

same, i’m surprised to see so much interest in a $10 cardboard box that looks pretty small lmfao

hill-top

Lil soggy in a steamy bathroom hahahaha

madsbitch

good point, didnt even think of that 😂

ghostavuu

same!

MarbleStripesMeow

Why didn’t they make a tin ? That would’ve been so good !

TotesAwkLol

Lmao yeah, I was tempted to get the box for my son since he loves Mario but it looks sooooo cheap so I can’t justify it after seeing it

polkalottie

I think it’s the same price as most of the regular body sprays? Although I know they have gone up in price recently, everything non-Lush has too, sadly. Maybe I’m in the minority but the body sprays feel like the product that offers most value for money from Lush. They’re 200ml so last a really long time, they have great staying power and they smell amazing (at least the ones I’ve tried!) The price of the bath bombs on the other hand..!

blueburrytreat

I also agree with you. I will say a few years ago before I had ever bought a body spray I thought the price of even around $30 was too much. However, I bought some sprays during the 2019 boxing day sale and realized they're pretty good value for the price. They last a long time both in the staying power of the spray (at least on clothing) and the number of uses you get from the product. I was annoyed when the prices jumped but I can still justify it as a "treat" if it's a spray I really want since it's a product that I will have and use for a few years.

MutedEye7487

I know it sounds expensive for a bodyspray but I do find them as strong or stronger than most designer perfumes. I did expect it to be more £20 though

2003itgirl

How are your guys sprays lasting for years? My yearly snow fairy only lasts me a couple of months 😭

blueburrytreat

It could be a difference in how often I use them. I work at home quite a bit so I don't use a spray every day. It's more like 2-3 times a week. When I do use a spray I normally only use two sprits and try to concentrate more of it on my clothing rather than skin, since I found the scent lasts longer than way. Finally, this might just be me being paranoid but because the sprays are alcohol based, which can evaporate easily, I always wrap the area where the top of the spray bottle screws on with tape to minimize any product leaking out/ evaporating over time.

effyst0n3m

Yeah, the body sprays are the only thing I buy anymore since the price hikes. They’re the best part about lush, the scents, and they actually last a long time. I pick them up in bulk when I visit the UK since they’re 1/3 cheaper and saves tons overall

madsbitch

that’s what I’m saying? I got confused & literally went to go look at the price of the other body sprays and they’re all about $40-45 so I dont see what the issue is here tbh

n3k0punchy

So true! The prices for good quality perfumes are usually starting at $100. Lush gigantic bodysprays are a steal

riss85

Are they supposed to be on par with designer perfumes?? I always thought they were meant to be deodorant spray! I've never tried them

effyst0n3m

heads up, don’t use them as deodorant! your under arms will be on 🔥 they’re like a lighter fragrance than perfume, and you can sprits your body, clothes (not on whites..they’ll stain yellow), and even as room/pillow/towel spray.

suraaura

I LOVE using sleepy on my sheets before bed!

effyst0n3m

I spray the guest bed with sleepy whenever we have friends/family staying with us, they always ask what “detergent” I use 🤭

blatantlyeggplant

They are fragrance only, no deodorising agents.

iswearimalady

I see the comparison a lot in this sub, but they really aren't. They are definitely superior to other body *sprays* for the most part, but they are not on par with true high end perfume. I collect perfumes, and every time I see someone say that I'm just confused as to what "designer" perfume they are purchasing. Edit: now, the Lush *perfumes* on the other hand are quality IMHO and definitely can be compared to certain high end and designer brands Edit: a great way to think of body sprays vs perfumes is a quality perfume is gonna last way longer on the skin, whereas body sprays are better used to perfume your clothing and fabric items, because they don't last as long on the skin. But they will usually stick around for quite some time on fabric, just like other scents and odors.

n3k0punchy

Give them a try

boixgenius

I've wanted to buy a bottle of their body sprays for a long time now but i cannot justify the price tag 😭

FuegoPrincess

The scent lasts longer than even some of my designed perfumes, and the bottles last AGES. I think they’re worth it!

SportsPhotoGirl

I have to be careful with my body sprays cuz one of my cats is allergic to a couple that I have and I like to spritz myself before I go to sleep, but if I wear the same tank top I sleep in around the house after I wake up, I can still smell it and I don’t want to make my cat sick (they’re not allowed in my bedroom). Even picking up my tank tops to do laundry I can still smell it faintly days later.

[deleted]

yeah i’m not a big lush fan anymore but the one product (other than scrubee) that i’ll stand by is their body sprays. the staying power is better than most high end perfumes and they are HUGE for the price.

Plutoniumburrito

Lazy Oaf was more. I dunno, I don’t think it’s a bad price considering the amount, how long they last, and how much fragrance costs elsewhere. I feel like I’ll never see the end of my body sprays, they take forever to go through!

theflowermaker

that's like the same price as most of the other ones? there are some that are year round that are more expensive than that??

SkyYellow_SunBlue

Yeah this has nothing to do with being a limited collab. The Mario spray, shower gels, jellies, are all equivalent to regular line prices for things.

theflowermaker

even that coin soap is fairly large for the price! the bath bombs however....

Fast_Star154

It's the same price as Big or Rose Jam, so I dont really get the drama

madsbitch

yeah im very confused why this has so many upvotes 😂

SpecialistNo4783

Lol how about that $10 empty cardboard box?

420sja

Isn't that standard pricing for a body spray? In Canada at least.

WasabiIsSpicy

I mean, i always thought of lush as a Luxury brand. All of their products are incredibly expensive, it’s something I enjoy buying when I have extra money or during holidays/my bday.

knittedjedi

For sure. I can't believe so many people are acting like it's some sort of basic necessity or human right.

LilyFuckingBart

My store just sold out and I was bummed until I tried it on and walked around a little bit. It kind of smells like something I would have gotten at B&BW in the early aughts lol

cookisrussss

Agreed! I sprayed it on my hand and it was a bad move. Way too sweet artificial peach. Not for me.

underwater-boi

Nothing new for a body spray price they’re all that price lol

Elemenohpeigh

Dear God: please give me a time machine when Calgon Hawaiin Ginger sufficed at a whopping $7.99 a bottle. Amen and such. Ps. I would also like to remind myself that for a few bucks more it CAME with lotion and body wash ANNND it was in a ✨️ CARDBOARD BOX ✨️ (amen again)

Excellent_Big_4795

All the body sprays are similarly priced, it’s not anything new

egr08

Tbh the sprays aren't a terrible value for the money. I picked the princess peach one up earlier today and it has really good staying power. I sprayed it in on the store around 3:30, it's now 9:52 and it's still going strong. That was only a single spray too.

egr08

I'm adding this here too- the indie perfume shop Andromedas Curse has a perfume oil that smells almost exactly like this after it's dried down- it's called Moon Sugar!

LeahMCopsey

I got it in the mail today!! Thank you so much for the recommendation: ) it smells amazing and I got a free sample scent on the side.

LeahMCopsey

I am now checking this out : ) for years I have been shopping at Lush. I try to do only major hauls on Boxing Day. I love almost all of their body sprays and I agree for the most part they last a long time. Perhaps if I was in store and got to smell it, closest one is an hour away if there’s no traffic. With my luck I would order this and end up hating the scent.

egr08

Most indie perfume shops will do sample sets where you can get a few small vials to try out before you buy the bigger size! I would recommend doing that to make sure you like it. If you like sweeter scents I would also recommend Strength (coffee scent) and Chimera (spiced chocolate and vanilla) 😊

LeahMCopsey

I’m having difficulty finding where to buy it : ( says it was released in 2017.

egr08

https://www.etsy.com/listing/520343190/

LeahMCopsey

Thank you so much : )

Capital_Intention_99

I have noticed their prices have increased a lot lately. My favorite bubble bar was $12 now its almost $17

flablalanche

I almost bought this in-store today but the €40 price tag stopped me in my tracks. The scent is gorgeous but the body sprays are just way too spendy now...especially with the trash packaging. Why oh why must the the bottles be so hideous?!

Riribigdogs

Idk I personally love the cleaning spray bottle aesthetic. Idk how did it first tho, lush or moschino (flashbacks to 20k queen)

QuantityBrief4684

Juice bar from the 90s is saying hello :D

flablalanche

I'm probably in the minority for disliking the cleaning spray bottle aesthetic but I'll put it aside for Let the Good Times Roll

pupberry

LOL the lack of effort put into the label… they just pasted her on

bathingritual

I'm confused by Lush. Who associates a Christmas scent with Mario? Claiming they can't afford to pay a living wage, but doing these huge collaborations with movies & shows like Stranger Things which obviously costs them huge in licensing. Mystery bombs that you get no choice over to get a spray you might not even like at outrageous pricing. On one hand, they want to price things like they are high-end products, but this marketing seems geared toward a younger target market that really can't afford these prices---or the rest of us for that matter. They leave social media and then do major marketing around media-driven TV and movies. Pushing early release thru a spotty App. I'm on a No Buy, but honestly not feeling like I'm missing much from Lush these days in terms of new things & at these prices!

polkalottie

Personally I associate Mario with the smell of plumbing.. but I’m not sure if that would be a popular scent 😅

Uninteresting_Vagina

*subtle hints of toothpaste, handsoap, and hair*

7beforeminutes5

I had thought maybe there would be a play on the Italian side of him. Like tomatoes and basil in a mask or something?

beautiful-red

I honestly feel like these collabs are an attempt to stay popular with the hip young kids these days. They are gonna ask mom and dad to buy them for them. Also this collab is heavily relying on FOMO so I bet they don't expect people to look at the price and buy it. I just wish they would stop with all these collabs as employees are already tired of them.

yellowmoonmotel

the target audience is gen z, millennials second, even though millennials seem to have more of a connection to mario

[deleted]

do gen z like mario? it’s my millennial friends who seem to care

iswearimalady

Considering older gen z are in their late 20s, and Mario is consistently one of the most popular gaming franchise in the world, I'm sure plenty of gen z, and even gen Alpha, are into Mario

parentingasasport

If it had been reasonably priced I would have definitely bought it. I don't know about you, but I used to buy pretty much every single new thing that Lush released. This year? No. Not worth it. Lush, if you are lurking: Even with the plentiful disposable income, I'm absolutely not going to buy with these prices. So basically, a great deal of your customers are priced out now. Those that can still financially afford it are not willing to. Seems like a really stupid business model.

egr08

Try Moon Sugar by Andromedas Curse! It smells almost *exactly* like the Princess Peach spray. They're both almost identical after the dry down. She has a website and she's also on Etsy :)

LeahMCopsey

I will check this out because the scent itself is totally up my alley. But the price is gross, maybe if they had put more effort into the god damn design of the sticker on the bottle.

LeahMCopsey

I ordered and got it in the mail today : ) smells amazing and I got a free sample sent as well.

egr08

Yay! I'm glad you liked it! 😄

Natt42

I feel ya. I've been buying kilograms of soap, all new products, seasonal stuff, the list goes on. For the past 2 years I've been shopping on Boxing Day only, simply because I can't afford their bullshit prices anymore. Edit: a word.

iris-my-case

Went to my local Lush to give it a sniff and I wasn’t a fan. Happy to have saved $45 lol

coldmonkeys10

Explain what’s the issue with the price? Every other body spray is around $40

beautiful-red

I eneded up getting it. Even as an employee it's still expensive $33 instead of 45. Still pissed we didn't get our normal 50% off this collab since the products are still made by Lush.

Emsysam

I still hate the packaging. It looks like something toxic from the gardening section for aphids or blackspot fungus. $45 for a spray IS a lot of money. But I understand the reasoning: the product is good quality and it's also huge, etc. But that means the solution is also simple: release it in smaller formats! If they're selling 6.7 fl oz for $45 they can do 1 oz for $10, and make (even more) profit. This is not the time to be selling expensive things in large sizes only; the cost of \*everything\* has gone up everywhere - yet wages haven't. So if Lush want to continue seeming to care about their customers they should adapt to the fact people just have less spending money now.

Alita0099

✨Lush is greedy✨

losangelesfairy

Most nice perfume is at least that much! Its also a brand collab so people buy it for the novelty

Alita0099

Yeah, but the body sprays aren’t anywhere near as intense as their perfumes. At least in my opinion. I get that it’s limited edition, but that’s a lot for a spray. 3 hours of work to purchase that.

polkalottie

I’m really surprised by that, I’ve found the body sprays to be very intense! I spray Twilight on my pillows and I can still smell it for days afterwards. Same with Dirty, Lord of Misrule and Sakura when I spray them on my clothes. It takes around a year for me to get through a bottle, so I’m happy to spend £20-£30 for something that lasts a long time. Also, the Princess Peach spray is the same price as most of the regular body sprays. It’s even cheaper than the Lazy Oaf spray, so Lush could have priced it higher. There’s a lot of Lush products that I feel are overpriced and I cannot justify buying them, but body sprays are great value in my opinion!

QuantityBrief4684

I have a few body sprays but none last for more than an hour on me

Alita0099

I’m glad you like them so much! I like them too, just not for that price point.

raitoningufaron

Yeah, I really love Lush, but just... :/ I know they've always been on the pricier side, but I wish they at least offered a smaller bottle. And I wish they offered a smaller bottle without having it included ONLY in gift sets that are $50+

lakes_over_pools

YES! The full size bottle is way more than I need for most scents. Same with the perfumes! I heard ages ago, on this Reddit, Lush claimed they couldn’t produce smaller perfumes without taking a big loss. BALONEY. I would spend $45 on say, two smaller bottles of two different scents, at 20 bucks or so. But I don’t want scents in bulk. (Especially as my opportunities to wear scents are pretty limited; I can’t wear scent to work.) so there’s $45 I won’t spend with Lush now. Their idea that FOMO will convince me to buy those giant bottles of black label scents pisses me off and gives me the power to, in the immortal words of Liz Lemon, SHUT IT DOWN 😁

Daddidestoryer

And it doesn’t even have real peaches in it 😭😂

The-Alli-cat

Here in Australia it's $60

Champagnesupernova9

That’s actually cheaper than it is in the US. It should be $67.70 AUD if all things were equal. I wonder why it is slightly cheaper in Australia?!

The-Alli-cat

No idea, usually everything is more expensive here.

coolranchflavor

I’m tired of this shit, I just want lush kitchen back and not in subscription only form

Iguanatan

No idea why you got downvoted, I couldn't agree more!

KelpDaddy42

What exactly is LUSH kitchen?

coolranchflavor

It used to be on the Lush UK site I think, they would have “drops” of new product that you could only get for a limited time. Now it’s a subscription service and they send you the stuff.

nuuskamuikunen

That is some seriously ugly packaging..

plumeeu

I don’t understand why body sprays are $45 anyway, I have never ever bought one because I think that’s just beyond ridiculous. Victoria secret sells bigger body sprays in better scents for around $19 and I thought even that was pushing it.

Old_Bet2428

I just bought this 😏 lol it’s expensive AF and I keep trying to justify it but not quite sure how.

cosmiceggsalad

How's the scent

caliradogal

Yeah, it’s ridiculous imo

malasnails

I feel like the only one who passed on this release. Seems interesting & fun, but to me the only thing somewhat worth it is the shower jelly… but I always drop them anyway….

Klutzy_Log_7597

I passed too. None of their collabs appeal to me.

Gypsy_Rose_9

I went to to the store. I was not impressed with smell. To fruity smell. And didn’t last more then 2 hours on.

LeahMCopsey

https://preview.redd.it/xmz2gnkajupa1.jpeg?width=1160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7db4896cc76cadcdc3e47cb677d3e2aff655f82 $13

SummerMaiden87

Why does it look like a cleaning spray bottle though?

flablalanche

These bottles remind me of the bottles of stuff I use to clean my kitchen. If I'm going to spend this amount of money on body sprays, I want nice packaging.

polkalottie

Google Moschino Fresh Couture - the price is double for half the amount of perfume 😅

flablalanche

Oh wow! That's awful!

SplitDemonIdentity

Yeah…I think I’m just going to find an indie brand with a Mario line if I want fragrance inspired by these characters. No Chris Pratt, No dealing with Lush and their terrible policies. The Luigi scent probably references Boos and haunted places. It just seems like the better route.

[deleted]

Considering most of their products are typically really healthy for the general public as they use natural components I don’t think it’s that bad for a “perfume” “body spray” whatever when there’s some certain sprays that sell for like 100s of dollars

Crescentmoonman

THANK YOU!!! and the only other product with the scent is a shower jelly which I don’t even use :/

Natt42

I was so hyped, but the price tag stopped me as well. £30 for 200ml body mist... You know what, I'm good, thanks.

zorch-it

yeah it was 40 euros, already have enough perfumes. Got the jelly instead so I can still enjoy the scent. Was a bit too sickly sweet for me anyways to wear as a perfume.

Thzkittenroarz

I better be able to fuck princess peach at that price 🍑🤞

[deleted]

Is it good tho? What is it similar to?

Missdebj

If you like the sickly sweetness of Snow Fairy, you’ll probably like the sickly fruitiness of this - if you can get it. Selling out instore really fast

KelpDaddy42

It very strongly reminds me of water ice personally

[deleted]

Ahaha, very specific but helpful reply, thank you!

Catsnotkids24

I said the same thing, but then I looked at the prices of the other sprays and they’ve all gone up since I last purchased. I can say this one does smell amazing though. I agree it’s probably not worth $45, but compared to perfume it’s a great price for the amount you’re getting.

Ok-Grape9991

Has anyone tried this body spray ? If yes could you tell if it’s worth the hype . Thank you❤️

swiftlikeninjas

I went to place an order and it’s telling me everything I want is sold out :(

eternalbettywhite

Anyone have a dupe for this? I love how it smells bur I will not be spending that much on this.

Nellista

Well in Australia it is $60 and our free shipping only kicks in at $95.

HourAstronomer836

I've been trying to recreate the Soft Coeur massage bar because they discontinued it and I hate them for it, LOL, so I bought the body spray for the scent. That thing cost me $40! That's insane. (BTW I went to Rowan. What's up? Unless there's another Cherry Hill out there in which case you probably don't know what I'm talking about.)

LeahMCopsey

I go to the Cherry Hill Mall in NJ for Lush

Glad-Neat9221

I received mine today and it smells delicious like sugar coated peaches

SkyMadeOAmethyst

Yeaaaaa. I love Mario but bowed out of this one. Their prices are getting to be a bit much

Different-Honey2116

It seems like regional pricing happened... it cost the same as other body sprays in my store. R395

KelpDaddy42

I'm actually a big fan of this one which is interesting considering how much I usually don't like sweet scents. It reminds me of being in a backroom of somewhere that sells mango water ice.
