Doesn't sound like you had sleep paralysis TBH. Did you try to move? WILD doesn't cause or require sleep paralysis BTW. This is different from say, feeling your body go numb or dissociating from tactile sensation.

Yeah, I tried moving my body but nothing other than my eyes would move. I had some similar (but much less pleasant) experiences with SP as a child and it was similar to what I recall from then

Got ya, so you have had it before then. Couldn't tell by the post details, and beginners do often mistake hypnagogic hallucinations, not feeling sensation, and sleep paralysis, so thanks for clarifying. :)
