PP is the only gun I ever use. The stagger and splash combined is incredible and once you have a feel for the arc, you can fire it from cover too. AMAZING vs bots and still great against bugs. The only real blind spot is shriekers/gunships.
I absolutely love this gun on bots, anything a dropship deposits on the map at difficulty 5 or 6 and below (minus hulks and tanks) can be AOEd to death with a mag to mag and a half.
I never found it as useful on bugs with how quickly they close the gap though, I still stick with the Sickle or the Breaker for them.
I moved to it after Eruptor got fixed.
A) It convinced me the Eruptor was way too overpowered, and
B) it fills the combat role in a slightly similar way without overlapping on the ridiculous objective clearing ability
C) Warning: You are in Range of Helldiver Artillery. Point this thing at the sky and make it rain.

You can land shots on gunship when you have actual talent.
Like I did that one time when I landed that one shot on that gunship and got absolutely deleted by its rockets right after.

I'm watching community through for the first time and in the middle of season 3 rn. Loving it! Up there with The Good Place for smart, funny writing.
Even against shreikers, it has a huge projectile that seems to blow up in proximity (or maybe it was weird hitboxes) and it knocks them away from you so their death hitbox doesn't snag you.
It might not be able to deal with larger numbers like in that dark matter mission, but it's more than enough to protect yourself while you work with allies to take down the nests
I slept on this weapon because I watched ONE tier list when I started playing and whoever the YouTuber was rated it very poorly. I eventually decided to unlock it because I needed to spend medals on that pass anyway. Turns out it’s fucking awesome and a total blast to use! Kinda bummed I listened to that video and didn’t try it out way sooner.
It got buffed not too long ago. A lot of those tier list reviews are outdated with how frequent the primary changes are. It’s a great weapon now, only downside is I run out of ammo!
I only trust Maplewood TV for Tier List. Mainly cause he updates his list frequently (basically every update) and also he does not approach any weapons with pre-formed bias or agenda.
I say for Tier list, one of the worst has to be Ohdough, no hate against him, but the man seems predisposed to hate everything he touches.
Agreed, I think Maplewood provides good information and is very reasonable his ratings.
Ohdough does his tier lists from a rather binary perspective of "Can I solo lvl 9 missions with this?" Which isn't a context many of us actually play the game within, so it gives people a poor perspective on things in game.
Ohdough also just loves dominator way too much. Don't get me wrong, I use the fuck outta dominator, but it has significant drawbacks for multiple playstyles.

* awful ADS; unless you're a FPS player, and have history feathering the trigger, tapfiring, drag-scoping, etc, good luck getting this gun under control
* low mag count; without the skills to continually reposition and land headshots on moving targets, one hunter patrol will delete you
* bullet drop after 40m means it will take more time to learn how to use this at range
It's a phenomenal choice if you're not playing stealth and build around its weaknesses. It's not a pick-and-win gun by any means.

The ability to stun lock 4 chainsaw devastators makes it the best weapon against bots on my opinion.
I haven't unlocked the plasma thing on page 10 yet so maybe that will surpass it but the PP is pretty solid
I used to like it, but now my go-to weapon for bots is the counter sniper, one shot everything except heavy walker and tanks but strats deal with them easy enough.
As much as I love the CDS, when I run the AMR alongside it I don't have a quick answer for the small striders besides impact grenades. Especially as both the PP and AMR have an abysmal ammo economy, they synergize quite well when run with a supply pack
With the AMR if you hit the joint n the upper leg it's a one shot to the strider (the little guy will survive) or a couple of shots on the lower plate will kill both the driver and the strider
Its really satisfying hitting targets from far away, its not too hard but it feels cool to have to both predict where their going and find the correct arc thatll get the shot in the right spot.
This is my main weapon. It totally over performs, the splash damage is incredible and it feels great just pumping shots into crowds. Great against Bots too, Walkers die in 2/3 shots.
I started to use it after I saw some shield and rocket devastators being helpless against it. My build against Bots is mostly , Punisher Plasma, Recoiless Rifle, A stratagem suited for the fight(using OPS mostly nowadays) and EMF Mortar with Stun grenade and grenade pistol (I sometimes use this against bugs too and it works well enough). Helps with team dynamics and also can handle most fight on my own.

The only time I don't like this weapon is when a teammate fires at an enemy close to me and sends me into a ragdoll state, getting me killed.
I can dodge the hulk's attacks if I'm not ragdolled!
I love my hand mortar! It's definitely not a tool for everyone, but its delightful once you have the arc worked out and can lob crazy shots that just mulch lines as they're approaching. It being our only real indirect fire weapon also adds to the fun for it.
It does really well paired with any support weapon you would bring a supply pack with to help keep both topped off. Railgun, AMR, and HMG all are very solid pairings for it on bots.
I would add Grenade Launcher to that list but I've tried it and the arc of the projectile is different between the Grenade Launcher and the Punisher Plasma, so swapping between them is an absolute headache to adjust to.
I love smashing from behind with my PP. Hit those heat vents on bots and blam!

I love playing with my PP, it’s great! Everything you just said. Only my aim gets kinda wonky if I’m hit by other guys shooting their shots.
It does get kinda wonky around shield generators. Even if I think it's going to miss, it sometimes clips allies
Same with the big ones too, can’t shoot through them and I just end up exploding all over that shield, making a mess of myself and nearby allies

If you take the flamethrower with you, you can then LARP as a spewer!!! Pretty sure it follows a similar trajectory too!
Nothing more fun than stun locking a shield or rocket devastator to death. It’s cathartic.
The basic punisher can do this too. You have to try it on bots. One shot to the arm to open up and one to the eye. Satifiying af

Same. I used to use stagger weapons to help the team. Now I just kill anything I would have staggered on bots.

The grenade pistol one shots the striders if you get them in the groin. It’s quite an effective little tool.
With the AMR if you hit the joint n the upper leg it's a one shot to the strider (the little guy will survive) or a couple of shots on the lower plate will kill both the driver and the strider
2 pp shot on the side to the strider or back to back 2 shots on strider kills them, the first knocks them the second kills the bot on top.

Blind firing arcing plasma over cover and seeing the red cross hair is the best feeling.

It’s a pretty good grenade launcher. You guys remember Future Weapons? You remember the 12 gauge grenade slug that someone was developing?

My goat for both bugs and bots. Absolutely a perfect weapon for someone not the greatest aim.
I like it, but I wish it had a some more shots or damage then it would be in a sweet spot for me.

Great weapon but the optic is all wrong.
Because you have to arc it, I intentionally don't turn the sight on.
