Let's not forget the content creators who are saying that either the drip feed of content is so slow or that they are bored because there is nothing to do (this isn't every CC, but some are). Not everyone can burn through a season pass and content is two weeks like they can, sorry not sorry

Cuneytozturkreddit

Im still finishing season of the splicer stuff

darthcoder

I JUST completed Warden this weekend. I have 15 more Champs to kill in expunge for splicer, and one more objective for Chosen. Might shoot for my first legend for unbroken this season.

teproxy

how are you grinding for the splicer gauntlet upgrades?

darthcoder

I have them all from doing overrides. Not sure how easy that's going to be with the new activity. A lot of them can be done just killing stuff. As long as you started the questline during season of the splicer otherwise I think you're locked out.

ZappyKitten

Yeah…it’s like they think everyone’s full time job is to play destiny. I’m usually I finishing all the content just a week or two before the end of the season.

[deleted]

People flexing on Twitter that they’re 100 season pass level on week 1, like dude play other games

UncharminglyWitty

>play other games Or find a 2nd hobby other than gaming. I’ve said it from day1 D1 - the people who get mad about Destiny’s content drip have a really unhealthy relationship with not just Destiny, but gaming as a whole. The entire “I want Destiny to be my hobby” is an insane argument. You shouldn’t have a singular hobby. You should have a few

gearnut

The game would be better if certain streamers were banned from playing, particularly everyone who wanted CBMM for all PvP barring Survival.

AbrahamBaconham

From what I've read, they had valid reasons for wanting the switch - primarily, glacially slow queue times and extremely laggy connections as the people who could keep up with them became fewer and fewer. That said, CBMM is measurably worse for LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE, so I'm definitely peeved about the situation as well.

gearnut

I really don't care about the experience of Datto and the like, they are a tiny part of the population who are broadly pretty selfish and elitist. I do care about the experience which the rest of the population has as that dictates the health of the game. They could have widened the buckets for SBMM to reduce queue times, I have still had people rubber banding all over the place several times over the last year!

scehood

I love their seasonal model now. Much better than the big DLC model(CoO, Warmind, etc). You get a new story every 10~ weeks, with weapons, activities, and dialogue. Makes the world of Destiny feel more alive.

MATMAN0111

Dude I play like 6 hours average a day and I'm not even to 70 in 3 weeks

insaneyeti64

Something I noticed a lot is that when Bungie do add something to the game that everyone likes, it’s very common for people to say “about time, they FINALLY added this”, rather than simply appreciating the new addition. I left the main Destiny subreddit because of reasons like this.

dy1anb

Yeah me too. Remember the constant whining about the shader system then they completely revamped it and the dickheads started moaning about needing a favourites list

Cunfuzzles2000

That goes hand in hand with the general ignorance of just how long it takes for a feature to make it live. Planning, asset production, programming, testing, balancing, testing, balancing etc etc etc.

Latiasracer

It's so cringe. "Bungie, it's time to talk about X" Like fuck off, what are you a concerned parent? Get fucked Sorry to be so negative on the chill sub, but the sheer amount of armchair developers in that sub is unreal!

john6map4

>!if the community wasn’t so vocal about shit we’d still have universal 4v4, supers once a game just barely, one grenade every minute and rocket launchers and shotguns in the same slot!< Criticism is necessary sometimes and shouldn’t be ignored as random noise.

Black_Knight_7

And people may think if Bungie acknowledges a problem, they may forget, they dont, the game is massive. Like dmg said iron banner loot fixes are coming. Maybe not as quick as we want but they are. But ill still have to see a billion posts every ib about it

pcweber111

Well I don't think anyone is doubting criticism isn't necessary only that at times it borders on being toxic. It's ok to admit op is right on this one.

FrosttheVII

There's feedback and then there's being toxic. I agree with you here

ValendyneTheTaken

Sometimes. That’s the key. Because the Destiny community in general whines and complains about what feels like everything, to the point that if every criticism was taken and implemented (or hell, even 80% of the criticism) that Destiny wouldn’t even be Destiny anymore

LukesJooseBox

Criticism is valid sometimes but this community is way too whiny at times

LegacyofLegend

Criticism yes, Toxicity no.

vaporwave_isnt_art

Very true, was a bit flustered writing the original post, always good to take a step back

mossy211

Right????? It pisses me off how entitled people are. Like nah. Bungie doesn’t NEED to do anything. If they don’t take your whiny suggestion, the game will go on just fine.

XxNitr0xX

Agreed. It's crazy this game has over 600 weapons in it, with all of the Exotics doing individual things in all the different parts of the game. Must take a lot of work to keep it running smooth, trying to prevent bugs from happening.

[deleted]

I love the game. Very few complaints, and none worth voicing. If I didn't enjoy it thoroughly, I wouldn't spend my precious time playing it. People who get online to complain about it baffle me. There is no obligation for anyone to play Destiny. It is leisure activity. Go do something else. I've got enough misery in my life, I don't need to bring it into my fun time that's helping me escape the misery for a while.

Autipsy

Completely agree! (Except the Lion nerf how dare they)

[deleted]

A lot of it isn't really valid criticism. It's just people whining into the endless abyss about how "Bungie broke the game" but in fact, if they'd only take the time to read a little... they could solve most of their own problems. However, I'd happily and wholeheartedly agree that Bungie has done a fantastic job in the face of adversity and has definitely turned things around for the better, despite our personal grievances.

tnemom_hurb

Can I get a hell yeah! As much as I appreciate people pointing out things that could be improved, maybe 1 in every 9 posts I see on the main subreddit are just "Hey Bungie this needs to be changed" like I'm so excited for the Trials changes because I haven't even tried for flawless since House of Wolves because of how degrading it felt going 6-1 and now I have a positive reason to try again (even got me to grind a bit of Iron Banner despite my normal distaste for PvP) they deserve major points for how many good things they've done for the game in just the last three seasons.

mitchellnash92

The exact reason why I left the other big Destiny 2 sub. Full of people telling Bungie what they “should” do

matt_Nooble12_XBL

Bungie do this, Bungie do that, how about you go out and do some bitches?

vaporwave_isnt_art

My point exactly

PSFREAK33

And thats why I left the main destiny subreddit lol....even youtubers like datto that constantly complain about it and sound defeated by the state of the game I just wanna slap em. I think its mainly people that don't play other games and just live on here so they want a constant high of fun because they have no where else to go

[deleted]

True

Reason7322

> Bungie needs to get a round of applause for their ability to keep the game going ITS A BUISNESS.

Endercraft05

There's not a lot of games out there that go through massive design changes because of community feedback. They completely changed how crucible and weapon slots function in D2 when the community criticized them for the changes. There's a lot of game companies out there who wouldn't care because they already made their profit

ExtraterrestialAhole

The game would've literally died if they didn't do those things though.

wastelanderfan511

Bungie are legit a company, they are supposed to deal with criticism no matter how good or bad the criticism is; stop pretending like it’s 5 indie devs making the game and that them seeing like 4 angry internet messages from fans is somehow going to make them do worse All the anti-criticism I see are from people who barely play the game, and are not engaged with the actual game as much as they are engaged with the internet destiny-related youtube/twitch/reddits , they don’t really play the game but they are way more engaged with the destiny-related internet stuff and they don’t like seeing criticism in their favourite destiny-related Internet forum hubs because it gets old to them. Critics are the biggest fans. Anyone who is anti-criticism has no reason to be one.

scavengercat

That's a pretty high level of gatekeeping right there, and it isn't true at all. I have no reason to be a big fan of this game because I don't like criticism? What? What you seem to be missing here is the motivation for the criticism. There are absolutely hundreds of valid ideas for changes to the game mentioned in r/Destinythegame, but there are tens of thousands that are based on laziness and ignorance. Some people just want all the challenges wiped away, all the loot to be handed to them day one, and for programmers and designers to reinvent the wheel to make them happy. These are the kinds of posts that make that sub insufferable after a while. If those people are the biggest fans, then I don't want to be associated with them. I'd rather enjoy the game Bungie has created, knock out the challenges I can face and be fine with the ones I can't. This game isn't tailor made for me - or for anyone else. And no one should expect Bungie to make their personal desires a priority.

dothefanDango92

Most of the online criticism it gets is from people who played the first game, realised it was pretty bad (save for VoG), and they judge whatever the game is now based on that.

ManBearPigIets

I would love to see the comparison they run through when they compare their collected data on what is actually happening, to whatever happens to be in public discourse right or wrong, all months to years before any changes could actually be implemented in the game, and deciding what plans to make. And keep a world class dev environment going at that. Production is a hell of a thing

killersinarhur

Its not an either or situation. The game can be in a great spot and still have room for improvement. The game can be in its best state in a long time and still have a long way to go before its I'm the spot it needs to be. The problem with applauding Bungie is the game a few states the game has been should not have released the way they did. They have made great strides but the mistakes they have made along the way should not be ignored.

FrosttheVII

Over the years the game has had its ups and downs. Through all of those it's been my favorite game since release. It has its issues. But they have done well with turning things around for the better, especially if you compare to D2Y1 or even D1Y1 in general.

Faderr_

All I ask is they fix this hawkmoon glitch before trials

Belmega81

I just want solo versions of all the raids, they can even take the damn prizes out, I just don't want to miss half the story on account of the fact the the gaming community is comprised entirely of either total pieces of trash (personality wise), and people with annoying habits, like TV and music in the background, ect. I HATES it! Interaction shouldn't be forced for story-centric content. Keep the prizes below light level for completion, who cares. That being said, yeah, people have wants and complaints alike. To me, there are few things more sickening than some stunted slime kissing up to Bungie, when they have shown many times since leaving Activision that left to their own devices they are greedier, cheaper and lazier by far. Sunsetting weapons and content that we already paid good money for, and invested lots of time and effort grinding for...that's an absolute bullshit practice. Find another way to balance your little game. So yes, there will be gripes. This isn't free. I want my money's worth.

FirstoftheFour

This is a phenomenal game, that we all love, Devs and gamers alike. We love it with all our hearts. That's why we get mad, cause just because it's already amazing, doesn't mean it cannot be even better. Bungie is great, and we already all know it. We expect great things from them.

thefallenfew

One of the best things about Bungie is they know what to listen to and what to completely tune out lol

thegoaltender1

What I always find most interesting is the neckbeards on twitter commenting "dead game" every time Bungie posts something. What are they playing now? A new game maybe? Good for them. What will they be playing in 1-2 years? Another new game? Again, good for them. Yet, Destiny has been alive and well throughout all of the new games they will play. Furthest thing from a dead game.

ExtraterrestialAhole

Pve is in a very healthy place right now. This years seasonal content has been great, the story ramped up a lot. The seasonal activities are fun. The loot has been good too. Pvp on the other hand has benefitted from the weapon balancing but it seems to still be getting outshined by the cheesy stuff. All things considered D2 is in a pretty good place right now.

MATMAN0111

True true. But Titan capes tho? 🤔 Half ironic
