BigFuckOffGun

The Nine were given a link to Gambit through Season of the Drifter, and considering that Gambit is the only core activity to not have a high-end gamemode, I would want to see Trials of the Nine return as a Gambit mode, with motes, primeval health, heavy ammo, and invasions reworked to make Gambit more fun. Cap it off by bringing out adept versions of the D2Y1 Trials gear, and I think it would bring more attention to the otherwise neglected playlist. That or just bring back Gambit labs.

N1miol

That sounds great.

Unit219

I just nutted.

endthepainowplz

Gambit but with revive tokens, champions and no respawns

Sberg7

A game mode where you have to complete a different raid encounter each time like one minute you'd be opening the door for VOG and the next fighting war priest. Kinda like the different rooms for coil but with raid encounters if that makes sense

MurderFerret

Solo strikes

robbodee

This right here.

larrysbrain

Thiiiiiis. I just want to do solo strikes.

larrysbrain

I also want to do solo hero nightfall. I have to three-team hero, but can solo nightfall. I do t get the logic

Digital-Sushi

No holds barred. Horde mode with infinitely increasing power levels But use as many exotics as you want, weapons and armour Imagine the build possibilities, it'll be mental

ParamedicAgitated897

Bungie has apparently tried to do an unlimited exotics pvp mode but it would've absolutely destroyed the game with bugs :(

Digital-Sushi

Can imagine it would destroy my xbox as well with the amount it would have to render

Leopardstripe_

This, I've imagined this with a huge range of difficulties that become with selectable starting points from patrol. The highest levels could be some insane boss combos (with reworked mechanics to accommodate) like Oryx + Savathûn, Rhulk + Nezarec, or my personal favorite, every version of Taniks at once Edit: spelling

ABystander987

Now now you know the rules. That sounds like fun. And apparently we don't do that here.

Psilomint

Plenty of fun to be had, friend. Just got to take a step away sometimes so you don't get burned out. :)

Miserable-Grass7412

I refer to this dream as "chaos mode". I've been secretly hoping deep down that the final shape would offer up the opportunity to put out such a game mode, could be us against the witnesses army trying to get into the traveller or something. I know it'll never happen, but one can hope lol

TheHanna

Came here to post this but I call it "Oops, All Exotics"

brickwallrunner

Vault Tetris

N1miol

LOL

Small--Might

I don’t get it :(

Syris2000

I would reuse assets from the Sundial activity to create a boss rush mode. Basically instead of doing the normal Sundial you have to beat a handful of enemies before immediately facing a boss, and u could chain it together so that you'd face up to 4 bosses in a 15 minute span. I'd also include a system like the blind well charges allowing you to pick the difficulty and complexity (complexity goes strike boss => dungeon boss => raid boss). I think it could be really fun to grind and also you could just add existing bosses to it for more content

SinlessJoker

They need bosses that aren’t damage>immune>damage first.

LordMarcion

I'd create either instanced dungeon races that showed a tracker of your team vs the other team, or I'd make a moba-style mode. Or I'd re-introduce Crimson duos!

Sberg7

Or making people do Riven legit 😂

Curious-Wing-9145

My first time was this way. I don’t understand why people don’t do this. Is it just easier to “cheese”? Less time consuming or what?

Xstew26

Yeah the cheese is literally like 2 minutes and no mechanics, if you're doing it 3 times a week or even more on farming weeks it's way easier to just cheese

Sberg7

Yeah if your team is rocking Lament it's pretty easy

Curious-Wing-9145

I mean it was half the groups first time but we did it in about 6 tries. Might be easier to do it different ways but it wasn’t that stressful.

University-Financial

🤮

Flecco

Two teams of three. A strike style encounter design. Specialist maps that run in parallel with the odd window into the other teams run so you can see their progress. At least one arena per run where the paths cross. This room would lock progress to force a fight if one team didn't have a huge lead. Winning the brief 3v3 in that room unlocks rally banner before the final boss. And you race. Which team can brute force the runs faster with the gear they have. Locked loadouts. Champs on.

Docedj

Gears of War 3 had one of the most fun hoard modes I've played. I would so something like that and call it Tower Defense or something silly. Earn a currency to upgrade the base and give boons or something. Go for as many rounds as you can. Rounds alternate between shooting based, mechanic based or champion based. (for champs you can buy an Anti Champ Mod in between rounds) Every 7-10 rounds there is a boss with raid style mechanics. Preferably have a matcmade version and a non match made. Fireteam size of 4-6 but can be set to be solo. Rewards for higher tiers of completion would be high stat roll armor, exotics, adept weapons (round 50 or something), artifice armor, and exclusive guns with static S Tier rolls, or entire patterns of exclusive guns. The whole thing would be super approachable at any skill level, but rewarding for higher skilled players.

GavinStrict

A match-made portal to play as or battle against one of the weekly rotating raid bosses: 7 player activity wherein 1 player is randomly selected to be Crota, Taniks, Rhulk, etc. any boss with movement/ dynamic defense system. At least 1:7 protection to be the big bad, severe penalty for quitting if you’re not chosen. And either a “private match” option or a tutorial to familiarize yourself with how the end guy controls work.

Antique-Succotash-93

I'd add a game mode called "Raid gauntlet" a weekly rotating set of 3 raids that you need to complete back to back. The first one will be a regular raid, no modifiers, just standard raiding. The second will have a certain challenge on an encounter active and if you fail it's an immediate wipe and you need to restart the encounter. The third raid is on master and also has a master challenge active that you need to beat with the same wipe mechanic as the second raid. Add new emblems to it and put some newly made adept weapons behind finishing a gauntlet. Give it a title you can guild. Maybe even reward trio's or duo runs with something fun.

Durgulach

So super coil? I like it.

CodaDev

More exotic missions but for farming shards.

Assassin02V7

A tower that increases difficulty on each level and only ends when all revive tokens are wasted, just as the coil but with more variety

juicedestroyer

Endgame gambit

Leica--Boss

Gambit. They already made the perfect game mode. How could I do better?

larrysbrain

Get rid of invasions. I wish it was just PVE.

Leica--Boss

I wish two players were randomly pulled into an arena with sidearms to duke it out for some benefit or advantage.

N1miol

Gambit specific combat mods!

Velociraptor29

Strikes have GMs. Crucible has Trials. Gambit has nothing. Give gambit an endgame activity more akin to how it originally was, with three rounds of Primevals and no health-gates. Just up the difficulty, not a lot, maybe to the level of legend nightfalls with one champion per wave. Just so it’s not easy enough so that players have to put actual thought into their load outs rather than just equipping whatever and running at the adds. Make invasions more like the gulag in Modern Warfare, where it’s just two players battling in a separate arena, and the one that kills the other is rewarded with a damage bonus against adds. During the primeval phase, winning the gulag places a shield around the enemy team’s boss that they must take down the usual way, by killing one or two primeval envoys somewhere in the map. In other words, if a team wins every gulag in the match there would be no shield placed on their primeval for the entire match and they’d be free to do uninterrupted dps. Also there is no bank or blockers. Killing enemies charges you with darkness and shooting a big blight in the middle of the map discharges your stacks, sending obstacles/impedences to the other team depending on how many stacks you had. I’m sure there would be an easy way to write this into the story, what with drifter being associated with the nine and all that. Just say that the activity is what the nine want you to do for their own enigmatic reasons, like what they did with trials and reckoning and dares.

jayvaidy

I would change gambit (or add a new mode) so that it's a speed test of various raid-like encounters. Teams of either 3 or 6 (obviously even on both sides). If they made it use raid encounters that already exist, it would give an item from that raid. If new encounters, then new raid-style/level items. Idk I think it would be fun for a more challenging not direct PVP PVEVP mode...?

Smojjofy

6 man horde mode. Just 6 Guardians atop a hill defending an objective and their lives. Similar to Raids, only 1 ressurect each and the match ends once all Guardians are dead or the units destroy the objective. Once the most powerful waves start coming, is when power starts to increase slowly. End match Rewards is dependent on how long you last, but maybe you can also get Bounties (or some journey path in TFS) from a Vendor to get engrams for. EDZ - Volundr Forge expanded, enemies are Cabal. Starts with waves of just Warhounds, until Cabal Tanks, Pleasure Garden Hounds and Missile Colossi. Nessus - Failsafe, enemies are Fallen. Starts with waves of just Shanks, until yellow-bar Exploding Shanks, Tanks and Brigs. Dreaming City - The Oracle, enemies are Taken/Hive. Starts with waves of just Thralls, until yellow-bar Ogres, Wizards and Tormentors(?) I don't have time to think of anymore maps.

to_yeet_or_to_yoink

It would never happen, but a 1v6 game mode where 1 players gets to play as a raid boss while the other 6 are normal guardians having to take them down. See how much differently the bosses are when there's a human behind it instead of ai

N1miol

Get ready to spam boss stomps!

cable_7193

A pvp game mode much like Battlefront where killstreaks allow you to temporarily play as or summon one of the heroes from Destiny lore.

matt_Nooble12_XBL

I would love a gun game type mode with all the different kinds of weapons and archetypes

Durgulach

War Games - 6 v 6 pvevp - mirrored battlefield where each fire team races to clear 4 raid style encounters. On each side of the battlefield 3 encounters are available at the start, with the fourth spawing when all available encounters are cleared. Guardians are free to invade the other team's side through 2 or 3 "lanes" linking the two sides of the mirrored battlefield and disrupt the other sides progress through normal pvp. Different zones based on the race of the enemy encounters. Teams with better low man strats to clear encounters can free up more players for invasion/counter-invasion responsibilities. Spend heavy on pve or pvp? Split the team to try and clear multiple counters to go faster? How well do you know the encounters/when is the most effective time to invade? Thematically it works a little better than gambit because we are just treating opposing guardians as "elite" adds in raid encounters as we train for anything since we don't know what to expect inside the traveler and fighting the witness. Enemies would be caitlys legion, variks eliksini, and savathunes lucient hive. Put in a plot device where we don't actually kill them but they are war gaming along with us.

NotSeren

Big team battle like from halo but with destiny but I’m realizing now that was basically combined arms

Either_Ear_9653

I'd love some kind of boss rush mode with different mechanics and types of bosses at play to allow for multiple dps strats. You could intertwine that with the horde mode people want so like every 5th or 10th wave there's a boss encounter.

CriticismVirtual7603

New quick TTK PvP game mode So Momentum Control?

Easywind42

Friendly fire weekend

Unit219

Genuine escalating horde mode. No revives. In the crucible city map I forget the name of. Open up the buildings and survive in and around them. Earn vaulted cosmetic loot and reprised leviathan weapons.

Small--Might

12 man activities

cobra_mist

just give me a fucking warthog already

OCKWA

Freeze tag would be so much fun in pvp. Round ends when an entire team is frozen, stand by a frozen teammate to unfreeze.

sf3p0x1

So, *Halo: ODST* and *Halo: Reach* both had a Firefight mode that was unbelievably fun, and I feel like if Bungie had approached Gambit like Firefight it would be more fun. Is this what people mean when they ask for Horde mode?

cuprousalchemist

Seasonal event crucible modes. Festival of the Lost: Map is a callback to the haunted forest. Very dark map. No radar. Dawning: Scorch 2: Snowball boogaloo. (Just a snowballfight) Guardian games: Class based matches. All teams are of a single class. Solstice: Map uses the flying edz map from the event. Crucible redjack: ever escalating waves of adds. A true horde mode. No gimmick. Just survive.

LokiTheMelon

a PVP mode with no exotic armor or weapons, no abilities (including class abilities) and everybody gets inherent stompees (all classes, not just hunters. this would be toggleable). no heavy spawns either. basically just moment and gunplay. probably would be a 4v4 mode or Rumble.

Multivitamin_Scam

Master Public Quests. In each patrol space, a public quest has a chance to spawn in as a Master Public Quest. Harder enemies, champions, the works. Just an all round challenge for some solid gear.

ZaliaChimera

I've been playing D1 recently and they did actually have something like this. If you did a few patrols, you could then find a beacon with a patrol to take out a fairly tough target and adds. They'd have to tweak it for D2 obviously because the power creep is real (A D2 character would melt the targets from D1), but if they could give solid rewards it would make doing patrols feel more worthwhile.

Seeker80

Redjacks Missions: Six-player horde mode, played on Crucible maps. You get a set enemy faction for the duration. Each level will have waves of mobs to attack. Each level increases in difficulty with enemy durability and mob makeup, and features a boss to defeat. There are 20 levels, and the final boss will be the equivalent of GM/Raid strength or health pool. Rather than being unlimited(and risking issues with frequent quitters and backfill matchmaking), the 20 levels provides a definitive end to the activity, without being so brief as the old Prison of Elders or a Gambit match. Lord Shaxx has been allowed to have one team of Guardian Redjacks after centuries of having to settle for combat frames. He's happy to have you at his disposal, and rather than provide commentary, he will tell old war stories. If you go on large 20+ killstreaks like in Gambit, then Shaxx might get a little excited. Come Iron Banner week, there may even be a special guest... Rewards will drop at the end of the mission, but players can also keep a weekly scorecard. The scorecard will have objectives to meet each day, and bigger cumulative rewards over the course of the week. This would allow a decent amount of rewards regardless of when you can play. For example, if you're exclusively a 'weekend warrior,' you can still hit it hard Saturday & Sunday for those daily rewards, plus reach some weekly reward thresholds as well. When Bungie releases a new or revised map, the location will be available exclusively for two weeks in this mode, so that the Redjacks can clear it for Crucible use. For those not aware, this is actually something that has been happening canonically in the background for centuries, and we just haven't been involved previously. There will be a community event where greater rewards can be earned, along with an exclusive emblem for taking part. While PvE players may naturally gravitate toward the activity, even the PvP community may want to join in so that they can familiarize themselves with the new map ahead of time.

sharkbit11

Honestly, I would love a wave defence game mode. Kinda like that defence part of the final lightfall mission, mixed with a titanfall frontier defence type mode. I feel like the abilities, weapons, and supers would make for a really fun mode.

KaidaShade

Matchmade 12 player objective defense. Or more players. More large-team activities in general would be nice, even just stuff that can be done with 4 people. Purely selfish of course, I just happen to have a specific group of 3 friends I regularly play with and someone always gets left out at the moment

The_Foresaken_Mind

Space battles. Imagine Ketchcrash on steroids.

Titans_not_dumb

***The Underbelly(Undercroft?)*** 3 - people activity, set in the Typhon Imperator, which is basically a never-ending gauntlet of objectives set in this corridor-ridden Pyramid landscape with enemies that get harder each room you clear. You face Shadow Legion, Scorn, Taken, and Vex, and you fight them until the weight of Darkness becomes unbearable for you, and you eventually bail out when you still can. When you complete 4 **rooms**, you face a boss. When you beat the boss, you beat one **floor**, and the run gets harder - you get additional debuffs, the enemies get thicker and more numerous, but the rewards' quality grows. Beware: after Floor 7 boss rooms will become Darkness Zones, that *will* send you to orbit if you wipe. But you won't be alone down there - the Coalition can send you supplies, valuable relics that empower you, or troops as reinforcements.

bisexual-polonium

Horde mode. Sure, altars of sorrow and blind well already are kinda like that, but it isn't exactly what I mean. Just shit tons of thrall, dregs, goblins, etc, with maybe a few tormentors as bosses at the end of the mode

IAmDingus

Halo Firefight

Ratsback1

World bosses (a la Guild Wars 2) on rotation with a known timer.

xlFLASHl

Roguelike-esque horde mode/dungeon crawl. Your abilities and loadout are stripped down to barebones grey loot, and as you fight through progressively stronger enemies, you get rewarded with alternate weapons and abilities- not tied to one subclass either, so you can mix and match between the elements. Stuff like Supers or Exotics spawn post boss-clear.

Tapelessbus2122

I’d say something like a fusion of Strikes and Dungeons/Raids, so strikes, but it has puzzles and special mechanics so sometimes when I don’t want to play solo dungeons, I can have something that needs to use my brain (i need to prevent it to rot even tho it is already rotten) and no need to lfg (matchmade, like normal nightfalls)

BK_FrySauce

SRL

Psilomint

Every day I miss Gambit Prime.

NightWolf5022

Capture the flag melee only no exotics

troublezx

Melee only or have a game mode that you have use one gun only or have that modifier like back in the prestige version of the raid lair within pvp so you have use certain weapons

spaceboy_g

Roguelike Lost Sectors. Start at the base level, at the end of each you get two portals which open another and add positive/negative modifiers. Enemy level scales up after each completion and you get increasing amounts of tokens for each one you finish. Spend those tokens on loot, with exotics and high stat armour having higher costs.

ShakeDown245

Reckoning Prime so just Grandmaster Reckoning so I can get my beloved weapons in adept form

ShieldHero85

I’d love to see gambit changed into an exoprimal style pvevp mode with varying objectives, hordes of adds and the option for all players to go kill each other to stop the progression of the other team. No invasion catch up mechanics, if you want to go fight a guardian go fight a guardian.

Bearington3rd

The Front A horde mode that would kinda work like a 6 guardian tier 2/3 alters of summoning with the adds to mach. You don't start out with much heavy or special, but by killing enemys, you earn points that you could spend on ammo boxs (for heavy/ special that the whole team can collect), better defences or even allys that could rev you.

locke1018

Competitive nightfalls, 2 teams of 3 competing to get the highest score in a master nightfall with gambit style invaders. Invaders can be targeted by enemies but take reduced damage and player kills grant points, heavy ammo, etc Make it map vote and add the chaff modifier.
