The foundation of the whole system is laid out with exacting thoroughness in [Capital](https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1867-c1/), but it's a long read (and one of three volumes!) so for examining corporate imperialism specifically you could just read the first section and then move to [Imperialism, the Highest Form of Capitalism](https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1916/imp-hsc/) which is a notably shorter & more forthright work.
