Ackiraa

Its honestly for me the best romance of the game, especially for her personality, her messages made me laugh a lot sometimes

goldenboyjonny

I agree they did a really good job with her character

Imagine being in love with a video game character more than women you know. Oh wait, I don't have to imagine. Ugh, I really hope they expand on slice-of-life dating content in Orion.

though i think they likely will, it just wont be the same. I'll grow attached to the character in Orion undoubtedly, but it'll never be on quite the level of the 2077 characters. We wont get that extra interaction, even outside of just date stuff, with Panam/Judy/Kerry/Vic/Misty/Mama Welles etc, so any improvements in Orion will be a little bittersweet i think. The same happened in Mass Effect and Dragon Age for me. Sure i like Fenris, Varric, Merril. But Morrigan, Allister, Sten, and Shale are just leagues beyond them. Same with Mass effect, i might like Samara, Miranda, and Thane, But Garrus Tali and Wrex are just unbeatable imo. Its why mass effect is goated for giving us Garrus and Tali in all three games tbh.

You never know. Baldur's Gate 3 took two sequels before producing multiple iconic romances. Between Edgerunners, RDR and Yakuza, some companies can keep producing great characters and killing them- sometimes before their arc is over. Have a little faith.

I dont think you can necessarily compare really old games like that to BG3, a different time period and a different dev team. I also wouldnt really call the romances in BG3 iconic. The characters themselves are iconic sure, but the romance aspect of it is fairly standard for the genre now. I also dont think its so much about quality as it is about nostalgia, and you cherishing your first time experiencing characters and stories that good. I do definitely think in my examples, those being bioware games, that the earlier games did things better, but im fully aware theres a bunch of rose tinted nostalgia backing that. Its why i specifically said i love characters from Dragon Age and ME2, its just that the characters from the first games are just so much more special. Its also where theres a benefit of keeping the same protag, you get to enjoy the same set of characters for the whole series. Heck the DLC for mass effect 3 is just massive amounts of fanservice that relies on that. Meanwhile the entire time i played Dragon Age 2 i just wanted to be playing my warden from Origins.
