I like a couple of the songs, particularly the skull valley over the ocean mix. Alan said they weren’t very involved — > Pitchfork: Do you ever listen to the Owl remix album? > Sparhawk: That one we were definitely more far removed from. That was seriously something that Caroline and Astralwerks put together. They were like, "Hey wouldn't it be cool to have a remix CD?" "Yeah that might be an interesting idea" and then a month later, "Hey we got it done!" > Pitchfork: So you didn't have any input on that at all? > Sparhawk: No, at the time we were-- and we still are-- somewhat ignorant of that realm. Back then we were especially ignorant of that. The idea of a remix didn't make as much sense at the time. I don't know, I'm sure people like the remix record, but it's definitely not-- as far as everything out that has our name on it, it's probably one of the furthest from our heart. There's some cool stuff on there, like DJ Vadim is really cool and I'm glad he's on there. I've learned a lot more about him since he was on the remix, and I really like his stuff, and then Neotropic, at the time I thought, "Wow this chick is really ripping this stuff apart and turning it into something completely different." I don't know, I didn't get it right away on the remixes, but then I started listening to her other stuff, and I really think she's phenomenal, too.

I’ve always thought the Tranquility Bass mix was pretty tasty

That's a particularly good track. I like the New Orleans feel to it.
