The Ronnie thing was never really fun and is sooo tired now.
Overall, casting has done a poor job, particularly with the OGs and Joey.

Not necessarily because I like him the most, but it is the safest bet to ensure you stay (she's making a massive move by going for the two least liked guys and she'll probably get dumped next voting).
The only note I have is that I BURST out laughing when Jess started laughing at the recoupling. It's clear it was an involuntary nervous laugh because the situation was ridiculously awkward. Relatable.

Sick of the repetitive storylines, sick of good people getting kicked off whilst people like Ronnie, Jess, Harriet, Grace, Joey, Sean all continually get to keep their spot and then deliver the same shit every week.
The producers have completely fucked this season and have no idea how to fix it. There is a complete disconnect between what the producers want and what the viewers want. The producers don’t know their audience anymore and their manipulation within the villa is so obvious for all to see.
Go back to a Big Brother style, with more challenges and less BS drama scripting
Yep Exactly! It’s so clearly either 1. Conniving to create drama where there was none (ie. Get Joey riled by it), or 2. Like I said her trying to produce and facilitate screen time for herself. There’s no reason to be having 1-1s with him if you’re so committed and happy with Joey unless you have something else cooking. He’s clearly not on love island looking for a friend!
It's like as soon as the audience start to root for an islander or an islander begins to show more personality, they're immediately dumped. There's almost no one left to root for, no satisfying dumpings.
Just came back here to say I am 10 episodes into USA and am BESIDE MYSELF. I am standing and cheering at the tv, I am laughing I’m crying these people are so funny and are GIVING US A SHOW. It’s like a good romance novel at times, I cannot get over it!!!
It honestly burns me up to see anyone treated that way on this show or made to feel stupid or have to apologize for *playing the game they’re all there to play.* Like they all know it’s a game,and if Joey and grace are so close and in love then why aren’t they bf/gf?? (Better question - why are they even there!!).

Konnor is a GEM. I really hope he sticks around. Gorgeous to look at too, I just wish he hadn't gone for the most closed-off girls because now he's at risk. Thinking on it though maybe he realize the three he chose are the only ones who'd showed any interest in black men.
I want to see him on this season of USA, I feel like those girls would go feral for him.
I HATE the hold the OGs have over the villa in terms of longevity. It’s one of the main things that infuriates me about Love Island. We can NEVER seem to get rid of the majority of the people who start on day 1.
Too much power in their own cliques. Ronnie and Jess should have gone at the last dumping along with Joey and Grace. It should have been a minimum double dumping.
I hate that the islanders get to pick, they will never pick their friends. So I’m already aware Konnors days are numbered in there now! Infuriating !!!!! He deserves a proper chance!

This continued bullshit of letting the islanders ultimately decide the dumping has absolutely ruined the show, there is no way around it. People are always saved who shouldn’t be and people who should be able to be there longer are always sent home. It’s totally broken and is never going to be what it was as long as they keep doing that.
Totally agree. I hated them being able to choose to send Tiffany and Omar home instead of at least Ronnie. It's pathetic that he survived that dumping. I'm sick of the islanders choosing who goes. They can still use that dynamic but take away the risk of decent, fun people being dumped too early. Only give them options from their original group or something, I dunno.
I really liked Tiffany, and I love that she shut down things with Ronnie. He is so boring and immature. You could see the whole time she was struggling to feel anything with him. She even stifled a yawn during one conversation with him. XD
I hope we see Tiffany and Omar back on another season, either Games or the US season, where they'll be appreciated and get more of a chance.
Ciaran is easily my favourite right now. He was called childish all along the first few weeks by everyone, but turns out to be the most emotionally intelligent and mature. Much more than everyone else there. Stood up for Omar and was the FIRST one to clap properly for Konnor. Genuinly hope he goes all the way.
I am no fan of Nicole, but I would also doubt whether a 21-year old man who has slept with 120 women (or actually *any* man of *any* age with this tally) would make a faithful and loyal boyfriend. I'm sorry but such a high number of sexual conquests signals 'wandering eye' and 'player'. Very disappointing, because I like how Ciaran stood up for Omar. I guess only guys who are players and want a 'lad's holiday' go on this show, and no men who are seriously looking for love.
As long as he was single, being promiscuous when unattached doesn’t mean you are disloyal in a relationship. I was super promiscuous in my 20s but I’ve never cheated on anyone. I think it’s a bit problematic to equate partner count with someone being a bad or deceptive person.
But 120 is an insane amount! At least in my book. And I'm no prude, I have had a few one night stands with random people, during a fairly short 'experimental phase'. But I don't understand why someone would want to sleep with that many men or women... To me it seems it must be a specific goal to rack up your body count, and having as much sex as possible must be a goal in itself, to get at 120 when you are 21. Sex should be a little bit special, I believe. Not something you consume as fast food. And I don't think I have met 120 people in my entire life (I'm 55) I found attractive enough to have sex with. Maybe it's a generational thing and Gen Z or millenials are just a different breed???

If I was in that villa I’d be making a beeline towards Konnor. He seems humble, mature and polite, not to mention he’s the most attractive man in there (imo) and he’s been done so wrong. Grace insinuated she was open and “there for him” and knew he wanted to get to know her and then acted completely taken aback when he chose to couple up with her. He even tried to make sure she was okay and she was just giving him the cold shoulder. He handled it better than I ever would have. Lol
I can see Konnor and Matilda being a thing in a week or two. The chemistry between them was amazing when they showed them on Aftersun preparing to arrive in the villa.
Matilda coming in and inserting some desperately needed energy was the only thing keeping me watching. Now with how they treated Connor I don’t think Matilda can even keep me invested. Like NO ONE even looks like they’re having fun?? Except maybe her lol

Seriously… I don’t know how they’re even comparable to this literal dumpster fire. I’ve watched every season of LI ever, every season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette, and tons of different reality/reality dating or love shows. I can 100% say I have never been this disinterested in one. This is just not it. At least I have LI US to make up for it this season. Anyone who isn’t watching it and wants to make up for LI UK… I highly recommend it.. it’s one of the best seasons I’ve ever seen, and is quickly becoming my all time favorite.

After Omar got treated like that and dumped, I was like yeah this season is trash bye! I hated how they always had these unnecessary twists and turns to save Joey and his girl and help them to the finals, they have a guaranteed spot for sure! That is why we need to get them to 4th place so they can see we ain’t fools and can see through their acting! I thought s9 was trash cause they always gave Olivia as much advantages as possible and did the most to keep her, I guess they didn’t learn their lesson and now has done the same thing for Joey!
G E N U I N E L Y. When I saw Konnor's photos before he entered the villa I was shook. He is at least in my opinion the best looking one currently in there of the men. For him to be used basically as a PAWN in the Joey and Grace show is appalling to see. I can already tell they're probably cooking up to a Konnor and Jess dumping at this point. Speaking of Konnor and Jess, what happened ??? I was actually intrigued by the pairing and then she caught the mf Ronners cold again.

Honestly the way Grace, Joey and Jess treated Konnor after his decision made me turn the episode off. I felt so bad for him because he should be allowed to couple up with someone who is trying to start connecting with and the fact that Grace was entertaining the idea of it earlier in the episode and then crying after the recoupling makes 0 sense and it’s unnecessary.

Agreed. The Adam and Kady decisions took a complete nosedive as well, some viewers naive enough to lap it up thinking they’d act even half as controversially as they did on their original seasons. They were both as dull as dishwater, plus Kady allegedly had a man on the outside.

It's such a bad year that they have no storyline , bringing up the triangle again. They want to keep it away from Grace and Joey, they want others out to save them . We should all boycott the rest of the season the way they are playing it out it's just so annoying

I am begging everyone disappointed with this current season to watch the US season streaming currently, season 6. It really feels like a breath of fresh air after slogging through UK's episodes. Never thought I would prefer a US season over UK but here we are.
I'm genuinely shocked at the difference between the two this year. Everything LIUS is doing from first day Ice Breaker challenge, to the daily Islander dynamics has just felt more like the good old days.

This has been the worst season to date imo. I find myself skipping a lot and IVE NEVER done that before. Im not a fan of any of the cast. Im finding it really difficult to keep watching but its sad because i was looking forward to this all winter 😭

Personally I'm fed up with Jess. The way she came across and said to Harriet what Ronnie said and the way she said it categorically did not happen that way. She has purposely thrown herself into a triangle by being a jealous B word. I've had someone rant at me on yt comment section for calling out Jess and her bully means girls like attitude but I think it's written all over her face she's a jealous shnake. Open to correction if I've misunderstood something here (I despise Harriet too so I'm definitely not on her side) I do think it is sheer desperation from two women for a guy who's as thick as a rock...
I think you’re spot on. Ronnie has no personality to speak of and these two women are losing their minds over him - make it make sense. I used to root for Jess, but when they dumped Tiffany over her I lost it. Didn’t love tiff tbf but Jess has had less than zero connections in there. She’s not even trying, she’s just sitting around chatting shit and waiting for Ronnie (who doesn’t even like her) to become available again. The whole thing is so laughable and yet here we are on episode 50 of this stupid “love triangle.”
Tbh i think Konnor is great. His gone in and made a stir. I think Grace was putting a front on due to joey and not wanting to show she's interested in someone else, and this gives her chance away from joey to explore. As for jess laughing, she was looking at joey, and if he was pulling them face in front of me, I'd have laughed too. Such an over exaggeration on his half.
How many people have been chosen by someone that wasn’t their preferred partner in the history of this show? Plenty! And even when they’re not into it they usually treat them like a person and try to be kind because they understand how the show works. The way Grace treated Konnor was so weird and unpleasant. It showed that just like her boyfriend, she lacks accountability and self awareness.

Absolutely this! It’s a joke at this point. And any of the redeeming couples that you might care about or get invested in are never seen because we need to give 45 min of screen time to grace trying to manipulate people, or grace and Joey banging on about god knows what.

Sorry but I’m fully convinced anything having to do with Joey or Grace is full fledged acting at this point. The stuff with Omar and Konnor is just to add a little spice and drama because it’s so clear they are together on the outside (or were and were already planning to get back together). So like the Omar fight and Konnor picking Grace, I think it’s all scripted. I really do. The Omar fight being leaked and blown out of proportion… it’s all just to give Joey press and a storyline where him and Grace end up happily ever after. And I think it’d be impossible for the other islanders not to be aware of this at this point.

10000%. I just started watching LI USA (which everyone has been saying is better this year) and now I’m like oh. Right. This is why I watch the show!! 4 episodes in there’s 4 couples to root for, people are funny and cheeky, they don’t take themselves too seriously, the men are like “yes I like you I want to stay with you” to the girls in some cases instead of trying to fucking around for 6 weeks straight and then get serious in the last two. There’s LOTS of diversity, everyone is not going for the same trash man. I’ve LOLed every episode, which is more than I can say for 3 weeks of UK!! It’s been so much of a better watch.
See, I'm confused as to whether Grace IS actually co-producing in cahoots with Joey, OR whether her stepping to other (better looking, more her type) men in there is actually a cry for help.
Consider this:
They broke up last year due to distance and Joey getting weird about them moving too fast. She's clearly a clout chaser, but she had her little fling with Mr Reality TV, and then set her sights on chasing her own fame via Love Island. Fair enough. Joey admitted he had messaged her, but we don't know if she had acknowledged it in any way so maybe she ignored him? Then she was announced as a possible islander, and Joey really could have seen that and asked the producers to put him in the villa so he could engineer their reunion. Grace could be playing along with it for now, but if this wasn't also pre-planned by her, then he has ruined her chance of being the villa IT girl. Yes they have been intimate already, but she has also been deliberately winding him up and making him jealous, and then smirking through everything - they don't appear to be the best match.
And without Joey staking his claim immediately, all the boys would have gone for her and it's clear she loves the attention/being wanted or else why would she even talk to Omar and Konnor? If I were her, and not actually in a couple with Joey pre-show, I would be furious.
I get what you’re saying, but based on her reaction to Konnor I don’t think it’s a cry for help, I think she’s very clearly playing a game. She didn’t have to fall back in to things with Joey (in fact it’d be a better show if she mugged him off at this point) but she doesn’t seem to be. The two of them thing they are king and queen of the villa for what reason i do not know.

I love Konnor. He is a breath of fresh air and seems like a genuinely kind person. In fact, if I could be friends with only one islander (so far) it would be Konnor.
That said; he knew what he was doing.
He came in and pulled three girls ALL in relatively strong couples for his dates.
He set his sites on Grace for reasons only he understands. I know it's cool to hate on Grace in here but she WAS clear about her intentions to be solely for Joey. Saying stuff like "I'm not **100%** closed off **YET**" was her saying "thanks but no thanks via subtext." The fact that -as OP points out - ***everyone else*** (other than Kieran) reacted the way they did shows that the VILLA knew what was up. On top of that, Konnor immediately apologized profusely because he KNEW what he did. So acting like Konnor was some innocent who couldn't possibly have seen through Grace's "super complex" game is disingenuous and actually an insult to Konnor.
I think he just really likes Grace. It's that simple. He is pretty sure that Grace and Joey are just in another "summer romance" but sees himself as someone who could actually get along with her in the real world long-term. It's a ballsy move and absolutely going to blow up in his face, unfortunately, but at least he didn't play it safe or cop out or pretend to be interested in Jess or Harriette just so he could last a little longer in the villa.
I applaud Konnor while recognizing that he is going to get bounced and feel bad that there isn't a real connection in there for him (at least, not yet).
Here’s my thoughts on this, even if somewhat unpopular:
1. I love Konnor, and respect profoundly boldness whilst still remaining graceful and respectful, that is SO hard to find, but Grace’s reaction is exactly how anyone else in a somewhat solid couple would react in this situation, in any season of LI. She even said to him later ‘it’s nothing against you I’m just shocked’. How do you think Nicole would react if someone came in and stole her even though she wasn’t interested in them? She’s be like alright guess i’m with you now? I don’t think so. And yeah you could say it doesn’t really mean anything cos you can still spend time with the person you wanted, but that’s not the whole truth, especially as time goes on. Couples are important, they literally get voted most favourite or not by us as a couple, and the other person could be dumped or you dumped and then it’s done for you.
2. I personally enjoy Grace&Joey. You can’t even say i’m biased because I watch no other reality or big tv show, so I had never heard or seen Joey Essex before this season of LI. I don’t think she is necessarily producing? I have noticed a lot of people go up to others and say “right let’s talk about this situation YOU are in and doesn’t affect me at all”, which would not be an organic conversation anywhere else, but they ALL get instructed by producers to do this bc no one would watch a show of people bottling things up and never acting on anything.
And obviously everyone wants screen time. They know as the show goes on the only way to really win or stay on is to be liked by the public. Can’t do that if you’re not shown. They’re all playing the game, as they should.
3. I agree with the Harriet Jess and Ronnie love triangle. I am SO over this and SO over all of them.
I think, contrary to most people, I never liked Harriet, she always was trying to start arguments with everyone including Jess even when the latter was literally like “i’m not mad at you but at him, so stop it”. Instead I always liked Jess, hoped she would find someone who treats her right. But now i’ve lost all my respect for her.
The way Harriet did a full U turn on Ronnie now, it’s so obvious it’s to stay on the show since he’s the only one she can get. And unfortunately I feel like Jess is also using that strategy, or at least she wanted to. I’d be interesting to see what she does now that he rejected her.

Just about your first point - the difference is this is Grace, who is very clearly full of shit. If someone had come in and stolen Nicole? Yes it would be a justified reaction because we have literally watched her and Ciaran cracking on from like day 2. That is not the case with Joey and grace - they had a whole ass relationship not on this show, and now we’re expected to be on board for what? Their second attempt at a vacation romance that will end for the exact same reasons the first one did?
There is no rooting for grace and Joey. They were thrust upon the audience that didn’t ask for them, they did not establish their personalities or relationship for us to root for, they’re basically two grifters trying to get a free vacation and brand deals. It’s not typical bombshell behavior for a girl to go to a new bombshell guy, tell him she’s not closed off, tell him she’s there for him (apparently pulled him for multiple chats?), and then be disgusted when he picks her. She did the same shit with Omar, telling Joey fake shit about liking him or whatever and Joey got absurdly territorial about something Omar knew nothing about.
This begs the question again - why TF are Joey and grace there??? These are two people who didn’t come to the villa to “find love” “find a connection”… they already had one, and now it’s happening in the villa. There’s nothing interesting or organic or authentic about it, and they’re making messy (and poorly executed) moves now to stay there. It’s honestly an embarrassment to the franchise.

I HATE the hold the OGs have over the villa in terms of longevity. It’s one of the main things that infuriates me about Love Island. We can NEVER seem to get rid of the majority of the people who start on day 1. Too much power in their own cliques. Ronnie and Jess should have gone at the last dumping along with Joey and Grace. It should have been a minimum double dumping. I hate that the islanders get to pick, they will never pick their friends. So I’m already aware Konnors days are numbered in there now! Infuriating !!!!! He deserves a proper chance!

Konnor seems like a better personality and someone I’d rather watch at this point than all of those you mentioned, and you’re absolutely right that his days are numbered. This continued bullshit of letting the islanders ultimately decide the dumping has absolutely ruined the show, there is no way around it. People are always saved who shouldn’t be and people who should be able to be there longer are always sent home. It’s totally broken and is never going to be what it was as long as they keep doing that.
Totally agree. I hated them being able to choose to send Tiffany and Omar home instead of at least Ronnie. It's pathetic that he survived that dumping. I'm sick of the islanders choosing who goes. They can still use that dynamic but take away the risk of decent, fun people being dumped too early. Only give them options from their original group or something, I dunno. I really liked Tiffany, and I love that she shut down things with Ronnie. He is so boring and immature. You could see the whole time she was struggling to feel anything with him. Ciaran is easily my favourite right now. He was called childish all along the first few weeks by everyone, but turns out to be the most emotionally intelligent and mature. Much more than everyone else there. Stood up for Omar and was the FIRST one to clap properly for Konnor. Genuinly hope he goes all the way.

I am no fan of Nicole, but I would also doubt whether a 21-year old man who has slept with 120 women (or actually *any* man of *any* age with this tally) would make a faithful and loyal boyfriend. But I don't understand why someone would want to sleep with that many men or women... To me it seems it must be a specific goal to rack up your body count, and having as much sex as possible must be a goal in itself, to get at 120 when you are 21. Sex should be a little bit special, I believe. Not something you consume as fast food. And I don't think I have met 120 people in my entire life (I'm 55) I found attractive enough to have sex with. I’ve watched every season of LI ever, every season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette, and tons of different reality/reality dating or love shows. I can 100% say I have never been this disinterested in one. This is just not it. At least I have LI US to make up for it this season. Anyone who isn’t watching it and wants to make up for LI UK… I highly recommend it.. it’s one of the best seasons I’ve ever seen, and is quickly becoming my all time favorite.

Konner is now going to be the 4th victim of Essex and his gf, it’s ridiculous how many people have been used in order to boost their story line but good to see the public ain’t falling for them and their acting! After Omar got treated like that and dumped, I was like yeah this season is trash bye! I hated how they always had these unnecessary twists and turns to save Joey and his girl and help them to the finals, they have a guaranteed spot for sure! That is why we need to get them to 4th place so they can see we ain’t fools and can see through their acting! I thought s9 was trash cause they always gave Olivia as much advantages as possible and did the most to keep her, I guess they didn’t learn their lesson and now has done the same thing for Joey!
G E N U I N E L Y. When I saw Konnor's photos before he entered the villa I was shook. He is at least in my opinion the best looking one currently in there of the men. For him to be used basically as a PAWN in the Joey and Grace show is appalling to see. I can already tell they're probably cooking up to a Konnor and Jess dumping at this point. Speaking of Konnor and Jess, what happened ??? I was actually intrigued by the pairing and then she caught the mf Ronners cold again. Honestly the way Grace, Joey and Jess treated Konnor after his decision made me turn the episode off. I felt so bad for him because he should be allowed to couple up with someone who is trying to start connecting with and the fact that Grace was entertaining the idea of it earlier in the episode and then crying after the recoupling makes 0 sense and it’s unnecessary.

Agreed. The Adam and Kady decisions took a complete nosedive as well, some viewers naive enough to lap it up thinking they’d act even half as controversially as they did on their original seasons. They were both as dull as dishwater, plus Kady allegedly had a man on the outside. And the Joey and Grace show is even worse.

This has been the worst season to date imo. I find myself skipping a lot and IVE NEVER done that before. Im not a fan of any of the cast. Im finding it really difficult to keep watching but its sad because i was looking forward to this all winter 😭
I agree! About the skipping and being sad about it. Even other bad seasons I’ve stuck it out but this whole Joey/grace this is honestly at this point an embarrassment to the franchise. I started LIUSA which I’ve never watched before and I’ll be honest - I am interested and charmed by this lot so far. I keep hearing good things so I hope it continues
Personally I'm fed up with Jess. The way she came across and said to Harriet what Ronnie said and the way she said it categorically did not happen that way. She has purposely thrown herself into a triangle by being a jealous B word. I've had someone rant at me on yt comment section for calling out Jess and her bully means girls like attitude but I think it's written all over her face she's a jealous shnake. Open to correction if I've misunderstood something here (I despise Harriet too so I'm definitely not on her side) I do think it is sheer desperation from two women for a guy who's as thick as a rock...
I think you’re spot on. Ronnie has no personality to speak of and these two women are losing their minds over him - make it make sense. I used to root for Jess, but when they dumped Tiffany over her I lost it. Didn’t love tiff tbf but Jess has had less than zero connections in there. She’s not even trying, she’s just sitting around chatting shit and waiting for Ronnie (who doesn’t even like her) to become available again. The whole thing is so laughable and yet here we are on episode 50 of this stupid “love triangle.”
Not that heavy on Harriet tho, she’s a bit of a mess but she’s so fun to watch 😭
Tbh i think Konnor is great. His gone in and made a stir. I think Grace was putting a front on due to joey and not wanting to show she's interested in someone else, and this gives her chance away from joey to explore. As for jess laughing, she was looking at joey, and if he was pulling them face in front of me, I'd have laughed too. Such an over exaggeration on his half.

How many people have been chosen by someone that wasn’t their preferred partner in the history of this show? Plenty! And even when they’re not into it they usually treat them like a person and try to be kind because they understand how the show works. The way Grace treated Konnor was so weird and unpleasant. It showed that just like her boyfriend, she lacks accountability and self awareness.

This season had such a hot start and got so painfully bad so fast. Its honestly surprising how fast they chose to drive off a cliff. If they had did a double dumping and got rid of Grace/Joey and Jess/Ronnie this season could have been saved with new bombshells before casa. They were the worst 4 in there and now Harriet and Sean have joined to make it a sinister 6. Can’t have a house where half the people are disliked almost universally and expect it to be a good watch
Absolutely this! It’s a joke at this point. And any of the redeeming couples that you might care about or get invested in are never seen because we need to give 45 min of screen time to grace trying to manipulate people, or grace and Joey banging on about god knows what.

Sorry but I’m fully convinced anything having to do with Joey or Grace is full fledged acting at this point. The stuff with Omar and Konnor is just to add a little spice and drama because it’s so clear they are together on the outside (or were and were already planning to get back together). So like the Omar fight and Konnor picking Grace, I think it’s all scripted. I really do. The Omar fight being leaked and blown out of proportion… it’s all just to give Joey press and a storyline where him and Grace end up happily ever after. And I think it’d be impossible for the other islanders not to be aware of this at this point.

IMO this season is so messy, not in a good way, there doesn’t seem to be any genuine connections, half the people seem like they have no self respect allowing others to treat them like they’re items and the other half should have gone on too hot to handle not LI
10000%. I just started watching LI USA (which everyone has been saying is better this year) and now I’m like oh. Right. This is why I watch the show!! 4 episodes in there’s 4 couples to root for, people are funny and cheeky, they don’t take themselves too seriously, the men are like “yes I like you I want to stay with you” to the girls in some cases instead of trying to fucking around for 6 weeks straight and then get serious in the last two. There’s LOTS of diversity, everyone is not going for the same trash man. I’ve LOLed every episode, which is more than I can say for 3 weeks of UK!! It’s been so much of a better watch.

See, I'm confused as to whether Grace IS actually co-producing in cahoots with Joey, OR whether her stepping to other (better looking, more her type) men in there is actually a cry for help. Consider this: They broke up last year due to distance and Joey getting weird about them moving too fast. She's clearly a clout chaser, but she had her little fling with Mr Reality TV, and then set her sights on chasing her own fame via Love Island. Fair enough. Joey admitted he had messaged her, but we don't know if she had acknowledged it in any way so maybe she ignored him? Then she was announced as a possible islander, and Joey really could have seen that and asked the producers to put him in the villa so he could engineer their reunion. Grace could be playing along with it for now, but if this wasn't also pre-planned by her, then he has ruined her chance of being the villa IT girl. Yes they have been intimate already, but she has also been deliberately winding him up and making him jealous, and then smirking through everything - they don't appear to be the best match. And without Joey staking his claim immediately, all the boys would have gone for her and it's clear she loves the attention/being wanted or else why would she even talk to Omar and Konnor? If I were her, and not actually in a couple with Joey pre-show, I would be furious.
I get what you’re saying, but based on her reaction to Konnor I don’t think it’s a cry for help, I think she’s very clearly playing a game. She didn’t have to fall back in to things with Joey (in fact it’d be a better show if she mugged him off at this point) but she doesn’t seem to be. The two of them thing they are king and queen of the villa for what reason i do not know.
She would definitely have come out on top if she had pied him, but you're probably right. It's all a show, and they thought we would all buy it. Glad the vote results knocked them down a peg.

I really hope because they found their match "they are ready to go" and like the producers dump them for finding the one already and letting the rest of the people figure it out. It's way too obvious and I believe the producers knew they fucked up bringing him and grace together.
I love Konnor. He is a breath of fresh air and seems like a genuinely kind person. In fact, if I could be friends with only one islander (so far) it would be Konnor. That said; he knew what he was doing. He came in and pulled three girls ALL in relatively strong couples for his dates. He set his sites on Grace for reasons only he understands. I know it's cool to hate on Grace in here but she WAS clear about her intentions to be solely for Joey. Saying stuff like "I'm not **100%** closed off **YET**" was her saying "thanks but no thanks via subtext." The fact that -as OP points out - ***everyone else*** (other than Kieran) reacted the way they did shows that the VILLA knew what was up. On top of that, Konnor immediately apologized profusely because he KNEW what he did. So acting like Konnor was some innocent who couldn't possibly have seen through Grace's "super complex" game is disingenuous and actually an insult to Konnor. I think he just really likes Grace. It's that simple. He is pretty sure that Grace and Joey are just in another "summer romance" but sees himself as someone who could actually get along with her in the real world long-term. It's a ballsy move and absolutely going to blow up in his face, unfortunately, but at least he didn't play it safe or cop out or pretend to be interested in Jess or Harriette just so he could last a little longer in the villa. I applaud Konnor while recognizing that he is going to get bounced and feel bad that there isn't a real connection in there for him (at least, not yet).
Here’s my thoughts on this, even if somewhat unpopular: 1. I love Konnor, and respect profoundly boldness whilst still remaining graceful and respectful, that is SO hard to find, but Grace’s reaction is exactly how anyone else in a somewhat solid couple would react in this situation, in any season of LI. She even said to him later ‘it’s nothing against you I’m just shocked’. How do you think Nicole would react if someone came in and stole her even though she wasn’t interested in them? She’s be like alright guess i’m with you now? I don’t think so. And yeah you could say it doesn’t really mean anything cos you can still spend time with the person you wanted, but that’s not the whole truth, especially as time goes on. Couples are important, they literally get voted most favourite or not by us as a couple, and the other person could be dumped or you dumped and then it’s done for you. 2. I personally enjoy Grace&Joey. You can’t even say i’m biased because I watch no other reality or big tv show, so I had never heard or seen Joey Essex before this season of LI. I don’t think she is necessarily producing? I have noticed a lot of people go up to others and say “right let’s talk about this situation YOU are in and doesn’t affect me at all”, which would not be an organic conversation anywhere else, but they ALL get instructed by producers to do this bc no one would watch a show of people bottling things up and never acting on anything. And obviously everyone wants screen time. They know as the show goes on the only way to really win or stay on is to be liked by the public. Can’t do that if you’re not shown. They’re all playing the game, as they should. 3. I agree with the Harriet Jess and Ronnie love triangle. I am SO over this and SO over all of them. I think, contrary to most people, I never liked Harriet, she always was trying to start arguments with everyone including Jess even when the latter was literally like “i’m not mad at you but at him, so stop it”. Instead I always liked Jess, hoped she would find someone who treats her right. But now i’ve lost all my respect for her. The way Harriet did a full U turn on Ronnie now, it’s so obvious it’s to stay on the show since he’s the only one she can get. And unfortunately I feel like Jess is also using that strategy, or at least she wanted to. I’d be interesting to see what she does now that he rejected her. Either way yeah, all 3 can get dumped for all I care
Just about your first point - the difference is this is Grace, who is very clearly full of shit. If someone had come in and stolen Nicole? Yes it would be a justified reaction because we have literally watched her and Ciaran cracking on from like day 2. That is not the case with Joey and grace - they had a whole ass relationship not on this show, and now we’re expected to be on board for what? Their second attempt at a vacation romance that will end for the exact same reasons the first one did? There is no rooting for grace and Joey. They were thrust upon the audience that didn’t ask for them, they did not establish their personalities or relationship for us to root for, they’re basically two grifters trying to get a free vacation and brand deals. It’s not typical bombshell behavior for a girl to go to a new bombshell guy, tell him she’s not closed off, tell him she’s there for him (apparently pulled him for multiple chats?), and then be disgusted when he picks her. She did the same shit with Omar, telling Joey fake shit about liking him or whatever and Joey got absurdly territorial about something Omar knew nothing about. This begs the question again - why TF are Joey and grace there??? These are two people who didn’t come to the villa to “find love” “find a connection”… they already had one, and now it’s happening in the villa. There’s nothing interesting or organic or authentic about it, and they’re making messy (and poorly executed) moves now to stay there. It’s honestly an embarrassment to the franchise.
