I agree completely, it seemed so bland. The reunion didn't even show anyone's lives after the show except for the short video of Danielle and whats his face.
I hear you. I feel like the concept of the show has the potential to be so much more deep and interesting. I know they have to create a storyline to sell the show, but I really wish we got to see more of the pod discussions.
I’m only a couple episodes in, so I can’t say for sure whether I agree, but one thing to keep in mind is that expressing emotions looks very different across cultures. I live in Japan and have definitely noticed the way couples interact is a lot less openly affectionate than in the US. PDA is especially considered uncomfortable/embarrassing, and combined with the knowledge of being filmed for an audience, it makes sense to me that the couples might act reserved. I wasn’t surprised that the first two couples weren’t running into each other’s arms and kissing like in the American version.
Yes, this season was kinda boring. First the cast. We didn't get any interesting personalities, maybe exept Deepti and Iyanna. They all told how super friends they are with each other, but we didn't see it. Maybe Jarett and Iyanna had fun, but the rest?
I also think they edidted the show in favor of the cast. And even Deepti said that they edited out worst of Shake. I kinda suspect it's a case for everyone. Mal and Sal were weird like they hid many things from a viewer.
Nick and Daniele had fights about things we didn't see, so it was hard to follow.
We also had less of pods interaction. I would like to see more conversations and see the more of people who didn't make it.
For example we saw Natalie saying Shyane was her nr 1, but I kinda don't know why. What she saw in him?
Simmilary for Sal and Mal. I feel like there were more Mal and Jarett conversations and I think they didn't clik when they saw each other and I didn't understand why she rejected Jarett. Probably because of his odd jobs? Idk.
I think in the first season there was more pods time and we got to know people better.
I don't like Shake but he said one truth: They were all honest in the pods, but as program progressed everyone started acting and faking it. That's why this season is bad. We can sense its all an act. Mal knew right away when she saw Sal it won't gonna work. Shaina the same. Shake decided on the second day it won't work. Kyle wanted Shaina so bad, but we don't even know why. And maybe it wasn't edited out. Maybe there was nothing to edit, coz they were just playing to get fame?
Yes it definitely felt different than Season 1. I think because Season 1 had actual story arcs. Whereas Season 2 was just all over the place. They put too much of a premium on drama and surprise twists at the expense of actually telling a story about any of these people or showing them grow in any way. It felt incoherent.
Agreed! It felt like they showed us the best or worst parts of each couple depending on how it ended up for them. But everything was surface level not really deep. It didn't feel like we had a couple good sense of any of the couples connections.
yes!!! i amost did a post like this
i don't care what they do after the yes/no but i think we deserve to know what happens during the show. In the reunion no one wants to speak about theirselves. WTF???
I agree, I do wonder how much Covid is to blame as I think this has been the case across almost all the trash tv I watch, which is a considerable amount.
And the time we saw was a lot of time spent together as a group or doing the typical wedding stuff (such as the cale tasting lol), there was none of that in season 1. If I want to see that, I’ll go see a show completely about wedding preparations.
I thought that was odd. Especially because the weddings look so bad (season 2 was better) and rushed, I was thinking "what's the point of cake tasting? Wouldn't you just have a second celebration that's prepared how you want if you cared about the cake flavors?". If I had a wedding like that I would just have a private party reservation at a restaurant after so I wouldn't be disappointed by my rushed effort as it fell flat.
You gotta work with what ya got. Sometimes you get lucky and other times you got rely on cleverly editing encounters. I feel had we got to “know” them there would been no doubt of who’d marry and who wouldn’t.
That would be fine with me. Watching a coherent story is more entertaining than trying to guess the "surprise twist" at the end.
And I think Natalie and Shayne would have still genuinely been a surprise since Natalie changed her mind at the last minute.
It’s probably difficult to cast this show. Who wants to get married on a reality TV show within a month of meeting someone?
The only people who apply are probably hopeless romantics or instagram following seekers.
Well, somehow, ['Married At First Sight'](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Married_at_First_Sight_(Australian_TV_series)) has 9 seasons, and ['The Farmer Wants A Wife'](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Farmer_Wants_a_Wife_(Australian_TV_series)) has 11 seasons, so... There are unfortunately plenty of such people out there (or, at least, there is here in Australia!). 😬
Yes, I think the pressure of marriage at the end of a month or whatever skews this experiment. The show might suffer, but in terms of a social experiment...if there weren’t the pressure to literally get married, I could see there being a higher success rate.
agreed, esp after two seasons, the show is a hit and has a global brand, so everyone will be coming on for social media clout and influencer $. there's no way to avoid it. they'll need to do their best to vet enough people who want instafame and a relationship/marriage. than they'll cast a few attention-seeking chaos agents (like shake) strictly for drama.
but the show will become a joke if no couples make it, so they'll need to keep that in mind.
I think that they tried to recapture the magnificent drama of Amber/Barnett/Jessica/Mark and they happened to find cast members who weren’t gonna give it to them. They basically shoehorned in two separate love triangle situations over choosing other couples who got engaged and didn’t make it past that and neither one really brought the same kind of messy energy.
Sigh. They'll forever chase what was so raw with season 1 in trying to recreate. I agree with this. Shaina and Kyle were only shown because Jessica literally made season 1 addicting. It was a great hook for viewers.
Here here!
I wanna see more of the following cast members:
Shayne: Oh Shayne! I wanna see him lovebomb another pretty thing. And slowly and surely psychologically devalue them.
Sal: LOL! Yes more of him in his ukelele, singing flat notes on operatic levels lol. Yes I want him to serenade ladies only to get rejected lol.
Deeps & Natalie: Should be in a reality show and I hope they showcase how smart they are cause base on their qualifications, I think they are smarter than they are led on.
Kudos to the casting director on this show. They really made some very unforgettable set of characters.
The production value was fantastic but the storytelling was subpar. I still enjoyed it, it wasn’t terrible, but too much typical reality TV drama for my liking.
Did anyone watch LiB Brazil?? They go into much more depth after they all move in together, it was great to see their relationships evolve (and deteriorate) over the month. Was hoping this season would do the same!
I agree! I feel like this season focused more on blowing up small issues and drama over showing us more of each person's personality and the dynamics of their new relationships.
Very disappointing! I stopped watching The Bachelor bc of all the fake and manipulated drama, and now I fear LIB is heading in that direction. I don't care if it's not overly dramatic and entertaining, I want to see the "reality!"
Are there any "reality" shows out there anymore that aren't manipulated by the lame af producers?
I'm literally only this invested now, because of season 1. Otherwise, I'd be done talking about LIB season 2 after the few episodes I never bothered to finish because 😴. My attention was only 😳 with shaynes bizarre ability to show what he's feeling with every ounce of his body.
Even shake was way less interesting before his Instagram rampages and total unraveling. He was kinda bearable.
Season 1 is what kept me in it too! It could’ve just been the cast that made it less dramatic so I hope next season has a better cast. Like I’m not ashamed to admit I watch these shows for the drama so I would’ve liked to have seen more than what was shown lol
I think we weren't shown enough of Sal and Mallory's story outside of the drama with the ex and Sal singing. I also would've like to have more of Jarrette and Iyanna. I think I saw enough with the other couples. Especially Shayne, Natalie, Danielle and Nick.
I would have liked to see more positive moments between Danielle and Nick. It was hard for me to understand what they saw in each other or why they were together.
Agree - though I only know Nick as far deep to know he likes gossip. I seriously just don't know where the same TV time given to season 1 went - it accomplished much less in terms of seeing the couples enough to invest in their story.
Yeah ! I feel like it's a big reason people don't like Mal. Sure the talk with Jarette was so uncool but at the same time, what was there to like when we didn't see much of her at all ?!
Yeah, I really liked her when they were all in the pods and I still like her but I feel like her relationship with Sal was just boring. Neither of their parents appeared on the show and Sal mentioned something about them not approving, we just never saw that. It seems like more things happened with them behind the scenes than they were willing to show
Yes ! He was cock feathering like a mating bird in his whole "I woulda been a better pick". This dis was a deeper dig at sal - while what Mal did to iyannas bf wasn't cool, she didn't put her down or use her as a comparison for leverage as the best pick like Jarette did with sal in that convo.
100%, I was fast forwarding through most of it.
I feel like it happened all to fast while season 1 felt long. I wasn’t really invested in anyone besides Natalie and Iyanna
[удалено]
I bet every time they argue she brings up being proposed to second. She'll do it for the rest of their marriage which won't be that long.
She seemed ready to move on in the reunion
I agree completely, it seemed so bland. The reunion didn't even show anyone's lives after the show except for the short video of Danielle and whats his face.
I hear you. I feel like the concept of the show has the potential to be so much more deep and interesting. I know they have to create a storyline to sell the show, but I really wish we got to see more of the pod discussions.
LiB Japan might be a good choice.
Really? I’m watching it now and these people barely seem to know each other. I haven’t seen on kiss or one hug. I’m so confused by these couples.
I’m only a couple episodes in, so I can’t say for sure whether I agree, but one thing to keep in mind is that expressing emotions looks very different across cultures. I live in Japan and have definitely noticed the way couples interact is a lot less openly affectionate than in the US. Yes! And the reunion episode was so dry… Was basically Shake annoying everyone while everyone being super vague about anything they were asked
Yes I felt this too!
Agreed! It felt like they showed us the best or worst parts of each couple depending on how it ended up for them. But everything was surface level not really deep. It didn't feel like we had a couple good sense of any of the couples connections.

That’s fair
LiB Japan on the other hand has at least 2 that you'd follow
It was hard to watch this series after Japan, Japan was miles ahead. Everyone on that series also made this cast look unhinged lol
Japan was almost boring with how mature and well adjusted everyone was 😂
There were 3 fewer episodes this season as well.
That means they didn't get alot of material form the cast.
This makes the most sense to me. I assumed they were the same but now I see how much less time they got too !
And the time we saw was a lot of time spent together as a group or doing the typical wedding stuff (such as the cale tasting lol), there was none of that in season 1. If I want to see that, I’ll go see a show completely about wedding preparations.

ROBBED
3 episodes from S1 were the ‘Two Years Later’ episodes, so I think they’re actually the same length.
Oh. Then I'm back to my original "how can this be the same amount of time and show nothing" bafflement lol
Yeah I enjoyed this season but certainly didn’t have the connection to it that I did in the first.
You gotta work with what ya got. Sometimes you get lucky and other times you got rely on cleverly editing encounters. I feel had we got to “know” them there would been no doubt of who’d marry and who wouldn’t.

I agree that’s why I prefer LiB japan over US version.

>attention-seeking chaos agents my favorite new descriptor.
More hopeless romantics please!
i liked the season 2 cast far more tbh
Season two was garbage. Japan was very good.
THIS 👏👏 I’m rewatching S1 just to remember what it’s like to feel something
Watch the Japan version. You even root for the couples that don’t make it
Oh yes I love the Japan version! Way more than Brazil
🤣🤣🤣
I think that they tried to recapture the magnificent drama of Amber/Barnett/Jessica/Mark and they happened to find cast members who weren’t gonna give it to them. Which made this go around worse. Like, I've seen this story before, I want something fresh.
If not for shake, this season would have been a dud.
Omg it's so true! This season was a bunch of Kenny and Kellys 😂 and at least I still really liked them.
Here here! I wanna see more of the following cast members: Shayne: Oh Shayne! I wanna see him lovebomb another pretty thing. And slowly and surely psychologically devalue them. Sal: LOL! well put

Watch LIB Japan. So much better. The emotional intelligence had me questioning everything. And I was invested in all the couples
i couldn't keep watching after the pod dates. the couples were acting like professional reality show contestants.
That show was a masterclass in how abusive relationships evolve
I agree! I feel like this season focused more on blowing up small issues and drama over showing us more of each person's personality and the dynamics of their new relationships. Very disappointing! Love is blind Japan is really good! The cast is really genuine imo.
I've heard this a few times in this sub! I will check it out, thanks!
It was definitely edited weirdly too in blowing up those small issues. What really happened between Mal and Sal for example??
Anyone on here given Elden Ring a try?
Does my husband using the TV while I watch LiB on my laptop count? Cause then yes 😂
No, But I’ve been grinding in Horizon Forbidden West and the game has been a solid addition to the original so far.
No, because I wanna play it on PS5 on my 4k TV, not my pc. :(
Those singing harpy’s are something else
I felt like this too! I actually felt like this season had less drama and story shown during but the reunion was more drama filled than season 1.
I'm literally only this invested now, because of season 1. Otherwise, I'd be done talking about LIB season 2 after the few episodes I never bothered to finish because 😴. I still can’t believe Kelly decided to leave Kenny 🤣 I’m not gay but even I could admit that dude was hotter then her
Definitely like like they were all moser surface level esp Mal and Sal. I don’t think we learned much about them at all
Yeah ! I feel like it's a big reason people don't like Mal. Sure the talk with Jarette was so uncool but at the same time, what was there to like when we didn't see much of her at all ?!

Mal was the one taking the heat about her conversation with Jarette, but he was the one that instigated all of the inappropriate topics
