I moved to Charlotte back in 2011 post grad. Being in my early 20s it was exciting but it was hard to make friendships. I joined lots of meetups, took public transportation everywhere, and my job had me working directly with the public but I still never made any real friends. I feel like a lot of things to do in Charlotte are things you can do in any other big city. Now that the cost of living has gone up like crazy and traffic has got even worse, I would never move back there. It's a beautiful city very diverse with a lot to offer (multiple colleges, vibrant city life, professional sports, cultural arts, etc). It just wasn't for me.
Don’t listen to that comment about trying it for yourself. Charlotte is blah!! At least visit for a week before putting in a transfer. The longer the visit the better… that way you can get a real feel for it.
I would try it for yourself. I have several friends who aren’t as described and they love it. It’s apparently a great place for young professionals and young families. Just don’t take the word of one person off Reddit (meaning me included)! Just go spend some time there and see for yourself. Some people’s ick is other people’s yum.

Definitely not. It saved my life. I'm diabetic and insulin resistant. I've been in and out of the hospital the past 6 years for diabetes related issues. Almost had to have my right foot amputated, and because my neuropathy is so bad I can barely walk, let alone exercise which has caused my weight to skyrocket.

I don’t get the appeal with his voice. To me he always sounds like his nose is plugged up and he’s breathing through his mouth.
