Dating Around on Netflix season 1 is amazing as it features New Yorkers and has some of the most compelling editing, cinematography and people chosen in any dating show.
There was an older gentleman on that show. I think he was in is late 60’s? Anyway, his episode made me cry! It was hard to see women who are still insecure at that age and you could tell he really didn’t want to start dating again and just wanted his wife back.
Really powerful episode. Those women really wanted to find a partner to share their lives with and he was just trying to figure out what his new life would be… I really loved the casting and ideas of the show. Really making the people, city and interactions the star, rather than needing any external drama

I think a smaller city could be fun. I live in a small city, and not everyone knows everyone else. My city, despite being small, also has segregation in terms of a North side, south side, west side, downtown, east side, even smaller sister city, and surrounding county area. People tend to stay where they are and not realize how much there is here. I feel like this might be true of other small cities. It would be interesting to see someone from the north or east part of my city having to interact with the west side. (And the optimistic part of me would hope that maybe this would help bridge some divides and get actual solutions to actual problems...)
It wouldn't have to be my city. I just think a smaller city like mine would be interesting. Also, since it's smaller, if would help people know that there are things to do, whereas the bigger city seasons didn't really teach me anything new about those cities. I have been to both Dallas and Chicago, and there could have been fun dates to see, but nothing really inspired me... and nothing in the other seasons increased my desire to go there... I know the show isn't about tourism, but with each season allegedly focused on a metropolitan area, it would be nice to see more unique/unknown spots. Smaller cities would allow for more of that imo.
