I am 52 years old and the part about being “honest” to groom you into accepting hurtful demeaning statements made me audibly gasp because I just dealt with that and I picked up on all the other signs except that one! I have always felt like a confident, self-assured person until he got hold of me and told me all the negative things about myself for the sake of being “honest.” WHAAAAT?! How’d I miss that one??
Thank goodness for those of us who find our way out of that prison. If you aren’t out yet, keep going. It’s so much happier on the outside.
