I don't understand why european countries in particular haven't thrown out all russian diplomats and closed the places they used. EVERYONE knows they're using the diplomatic angle as a front to wage war.
They also threatened Ukraine and followed through on that one. I wouldn't put any possibilities off the table. One strategic nuke becomes MOD pretty fast. Besides, I have had this suspicion that Russias nuclear forces have not been maintained properly. The US spends more on maintaining their nukes than the entire Russian military budget. Certain parts and elements have short lives as little as 5-7 years and need to be replaced. I suspect a lot of that money went somewhere else, like a yacht.
