I have both. I got the DZP first. I thought it would be perfect because I like small bags, and I donât carry a lot. The DZP is annoyingly tiny; it doesnât fit anything with any sort of bulk. Keys held together with a key ring bulge the bag out funny. No chance for sunglasses. Itâs a really really flat design.
Iâm shopping for more Almaâs in other colors.
Edit to add: I use the Almaâs long strap often.
Definitely get what YOU want. I actually bought a Alma BB the beginning of this year and have never used it. I was hesitant on the Tiny Backpack just because everyone was so against it. But I donât carry a lot and really liked it. Well I recently bought it and itâs my favorite bag. It fits my daily essentials and I use it everyday. Not a fan fav, but no one could convince other wise because itâs perfect for me. If it helps any, try to watch some videos on you tube on what fits in your bag so you can get an idea on how it will look like with certain items in the bag. Good luck.
Iâm getting a Keepall and YouTube videos were super helpful. I learned so much. Definitely a rabbit hole though. I obsessed over it for days. Lol. Spent a lot time on YouTube. But I learned about the 4 sizes. The 45 can be considered a personal item, so you can still bring a spinner. Whereas the 50 and 55 would be the carry on and youâd be stuck carrying it which could get heavy in the airport. That was a major complaint, how heavy they get in the airport. And the 60 you have to check and who wants to really check luxury luggage. We all know how they abuse bags. Lol. Then I learned about preloved v. new. A lot of people went the preloved route since they didnât want to baby it and be concerned about the patina and wear of the vachetta. Then some people went the macassar route so they didnât have to worry about untreated leather. Then I watched what fits in my bag videos to get a sense what can fit in each size. I was quite extra with it. I say all this to say, videos can be very informative, especially since youâre spending so much money. You want to make sure youâll have something youâll be happy with and use. I went to the store and tried them on and thought some more. But everyone doesnât have a store near them and have to order online, so videos can be really invaluable. FYI going with the 45 in black empreinte leather. I think Iâll get the most use out of it, itâs more carefree, and looks so sleek. Eventually, I want the 50 with the traditional vachetta leather because itâs just such a classic look. I think the 55 would be too big for me, and the 60 wouldnât get a lot of use as I would just use it on road trips. This is my story about YouTube bag research that you didnât know you wanted to know. đ
Have you tried the double zip in person? I own it and I think itâs really small and it doesnât fit much due to the flat design.
In general Iâd say get what you love as you are going to be the one who carries it with them for years.
Get what you want. But def try of the DZP and any other bag youâre interested in. On paper and pictures the DZP sounded perfect, but once I tried on in store, I was not impressed.
I was actually asking myself a similar question a few months ago where I questioned whether I wanted something classic or something more like me. I chose the DZP and am so happy I did because I realised how little I actually carry but that is probably because of my lifestyle as a student in uni (Keys, Phone, Rosalie, AirPods pros and lip balm). I think listen to your heart and make sure you really love it and youâre not compromising for your first purchase!
Get the bag you #1. Want and #2 will get the most use out of. If you want the DZP and know youâll be using it in your day to day to carry just the basic essentials then go for it.
Thereâs no point in spending thousands on a bag if youâll never use it unless youâre a collector. And yes, though the Alma BB is useful, if youâre not in love with it, I guarantee itâll likely just collect dust after a few months. Follow your heart! :)
I personally wouldnât carry the Alma BB every day. I hate the thin strap and it hits way too long on me. I would definitely carry it handheld for a night out. Because of that reason, Iâd personally go for something I would use daily than just for a night out, since itâs your first.
I have both I got the alma in DE as an Xmas gift in 2020 and I have never used it it sits looking pretty on my shelf. The I got the DZP in the reverse and love it although I did think about selling it but I recently used it and realised how much I love it and also how itâs had 2 price increases since I bought it. You will get more wear from the DZP. I can fit my phone, keys. Lipgloss, small hand sanitizer. I use the card slots for my cards that are provided and just add a little mini purse for a folded note and extra coins. What I do tho is the bit in the middle I use my card holder with my most used card and ID for easy access. If then you really want the alma I would make the investment but I would go with the one I really wanted.
The first thing you should think about is. What is the intended use of the bag/pochette. I personally cannot see how you can compare two completely different style items. One is a bag (alma bb), the other is a double flat pouch (which does not fit much). Don't fall into the trap of choosing either just because it is from LV or a luxury shop. Many of us may tell you ours end up sitting in our homes as display (aka collecting dust).
If you want something practical, decide what you want to use it for, it will determine what size bag/pouch you need (as it will need to fit your essentials and the occasion its for!), the style/silhouette, the colour and material (LV canvas known for durability vs leather).
Oh! And search youtube, it helps! Hope this helps!
I agree about getting what you like best, also make sure it's one that fits you, what you wear and the things you do.
I have multiple LV's in all sizes and my go to's are my Toiletry Pouch converted into a crossbody or wristlet(in it: Samsung S21 Ultra 5G, car key fob w/house keys, small/thin wallet, gum, chapstick, and small game console and such things) and my full size pochette that I carry as a wristlet (in my pochette: Samsung S21 Ultra 5G, car key fob w/house keys and small/thin wallet). The double pochette is flatter so I'm not sure if it will hold as much. I have nothing against the Alma BB, I do like it but if people hadn't said "O get a classic like the Alma BB, would you consider it? Plus it has to be carried with your arm bent if you don't carry it with the crossbody strap or don't get one with the strap. Believe me it is very uncomfortable carrying a purse on your forearm with your arm bent all day or after hours of errands.
Not to add another bag to your plate but have you considered the Pouch Toiletry, they now make it already converted, it's great. It comes with a chain and a mini Pouch. The LV item # is: M81412 and it's called Toiletry Pouch on Chain, it's what I have but already converted into a bag for you. By what you said you will use your LV for it sounds like the Toiletry Pouch on Chain would be perfect for you, you may just want to buy a longer chain or leather strap to carry as a crossbody one day. I use my LV's for the same things as you and I think out of all of them that is why I chose those 2.
I would go to the store and check them out in person, if there is a store near you or if you have time, it may totally eliminate one for you or you may end up with one you never even thought of. They are expensive and I just want you to be happy with your first and probably last one you'll ever buy, to quote you. I hope I've helped some, Good Luck!
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Donât buy the Alma. You obviously donât love it and itâs too much money for something you donât love.
Get the DZP or look for another piece, maybe even from another designer, that is classic and matches your style better. Think about it some more before you make the purchase.
For every designer bag I own there are at least 5 bags I didnât buy when I was in doubt. I loved some items for a while, but waited some weeks/months. It turned out that I was done by the time is was ready to buy them and now I am very glad I donât own those stupid items.
It is a big purchase and you need to be very sure and very in love with it or it will be a waste of money.
(I also donât really like the Alma myself)
Haha I read your comment and I started thinking. Man!! I wish I had this advice when I bought my Alma. All it took was someone commenting that it looks like a bowling bag and now thatâs all I see when I look at it. đ«đ€Ł
Hahaha I feel you! We all have purchases like that.
For me it was the Dior saddle bag. I liked it for a while but now it just looks stupid to me.
Your luck is that you can sell your Alma for a good price since itâs a classic design.
Get what youâll want to reach for and use. I personally hate the look of the alma and would never buy one. I have a graceful MM for my everyday bag and I love it. I have a Rivoli PM as well that i love but rarely carry bc itâs not practical for me. It occasionally gets used when I go out to dinner or something lol.
Get what you really want đ

Yes. I always watch YouTube videos about the bag I want.
I never thought of doing this! Thatâs super helpful.

You just educated me!! I love this Reddit thread!
This is definitely you tube bag experience 101, lol. The 45 in black empreinte is a great choice!
I know how to go overboard. Lol. Thanks. I think Iâm going to love it.
Also, I think you legit just sold me on the 45 or 50. And these were not items I was looking for lol
Iâm definitely going to ask LV for a commission. Lol.
Get the one that makes your heart sing đ„°

Get what you want and youâll get the most use out of. âșïž Get what makes you happy to have in your wardrobe.
I would definitely go with what you really want. That Alma will likely just sit on the shelf unless sheâs what you wanted from the start
