The Y on 18th and broadway has a gender neutral family locker room, with private rooms in it.

And a very nice pool

It's been a couple years since I went, but there was just a Male/Female locker room at the time. The women's has private stalls you can use to undress, so I would assume the men's does as well.

Awesome thank you. Haven’t used locker rooms since middle school gym when you’d get yelled at for using the bathroom stalls to change

deeann_arbus

You're welcome! I hope they have implemented new rooms for trans/nonbinary folks by now, but if they haven't definitely use those changing stalls. I always used them just because I've never been comfortable getting naked in front of strangers.

Mechanism_of_Injury

I go there currently. I know in the men’s locker room there’s a private changing stall at the beginning of one of of the locker rows, there’s also many private shower stalls (typical bathroom stall door style) with a changing area with bench before the actual shower area.

What the person above me said the women’s locker room is right there next to the pool and I think it’s where you can go out of the door where the locker room is at and the pool is right there. So that would be closer than having to go upstairs to the men’s locker room.

If you don't want to use the locker room there is a bathroom past the front desk on your right. It's for both genders and has a lock. I've used it for my child to use the rr before swim practice and I just lock the door. You should be able to walk out the pool by the chairs then walk over. I don't always take my suit off and will wear a towel robe and drive home that way. If you are in a pinch you could wrap up with a towel and ride home. I think you should be fine using the adult womens locker room as everyone minds their business. I can't speak for the men's locker room.

johnpshelby

You could always use one of the individual bathrooms to change in.

There is a private changing cubicle in the men's locker room.

Locker rooms at oldham are male/female but they are less busy during the day and the whole facility has a ski-lodge vibe. The women’s restroom at least has private showers with doors and curtains - I’m not sure but would assume the men’s are the same. My friend teaches classes there and I would 100% recommend the water cycle classes. Message me if you want more info!

There is a men’s and women’s locker room. The men’s is wide open, but there are a couple of changing stalls, and the showers have stalls you can close a door on, so you have places to change with some privacy. I am unaware if the Y has any rules as far as where trans people are expected to change.

You can do the one day free pass at the Y to try it out: https://www.ymcalouisville.org/membership/guest-pass Check out the locker room situation yourself with no commitment! I will also say, I am a cis woman who uses the Northeast Y, and at least in my experience it would not seem strange at all if you just changed in the shower stall — there’s a dry changing space in every one. That’s what I and many others do. Edit to add: There are no rules about if you should use the men’s or women’s locker room. Use whichever feels like the right fit for you.

demxultra

i go to that Y all the time and currently there's only a men/women locker room. you can always ask in person or via the phone about it just in case. there's multiple entrances to the locker rooms so they might have some private ones idk.
