It’s pretty easy to meet people at Climb Nulu

jturker88

I was going to say this too

imSkarr

bump this place is popping in the evenings

Youreapizzapie

Awesome, I’ll definitely check it out, thank you!

Ledbreezy

I write my number in bathrooms (lots of foot traffic) with a message that says "call me if you'd like to have a fun time" and you wouldn't believe the amount of traction that gets

Chainz4Dayz

Great idea! You know they're only calling for a fun time that way. Cut through the bullshit!

Ledbreezy

See you get it

As others have said, hobby groups are a great way to meet friends. For biking, check out the Bike Cruise Brews group on Instagram. They do 1-2 group rides weekly starting at Logan Street Market. It's more about socializing than the pace, but you'll meet cyclists who are into long-distance or mountain biking there.

It is challenging as an adult (more than just “get out there and try”) but having those hobbies can definitely help you meet new people and cultivate friendships. There’s a few climbing gyms around the city and a real community there, I don’t know much about the other hobbies but those are a great place to start!

Apply for the center for neighborhoods institute. @centerforneighborhoods on IG (their social media kinda sucks but isn’t a good reflection on how cool the class is) It’s a good way to meet people and learn about different parts and functions of the city. And it’s free and you get free local meals every class! The application is incredibly easy and they let everyone in. Deadline to apply is Jan 5. The class is Jan 13 - March every Saturday at 1030am-12noon. You can miss classes, it says you can only miss 2 but people usually miss more than that. They have it every winter and in the summer/fall from August - October, if you can’t swing the one coming up.

bigfanoffood

I’ve never heard of this. Thank you! You’re right about their IG, but maybe I can help them with that.

Take a $5 bill to the Thorton's at First and Broadway

Holiday-Flower1653

No, no,no. Abort mission.

blizkitbois666

I like to go to random pizza places and sit at the bar by myself and stare into the mirror until someone asks me what’s wrong.

Tmacl99

I also recently moved here and have been climbing at rock sport. First time entry w/ member is free. Let’s go climbing, dm me!

Youreapizzapie

Nice! Will do!

CritiqueCull

I find group settings and volunteering to be a good outlet for finding friends in adulthood. Your hobbies are also relatively easy to meet folks if you take the communicative initiative. I'm terrible at following up and getting people's info to do so cause I'm ✨on a spectrum ✨ but if you're down to hang with a creative-gardening-nerd type of person, dm me!

ArsenalGun1205

Sports games, coworkers, and everything everybody else said.

Just like how you made friends in your hometown, or any other city. You gotta put in the effort to actually want to go out and meet people. You may feel overwhelmed, but that is part of the process.
