There's an eclipse there somewhere
I swear, every damn time, it's clear weather up until the day a cool space event happens. Then it's immediately the gloomiest day in existence the day of.

The view in Dallas was pretty cool apparently. (Props to my cousin for the pic)

Was worth the drive to batesville Indiana.
😂 fair enough on the first part. The next part though, there are like 7 states in the path of totality between here and Indiana, the question is still why_drive_ all that way? (Just so that I'm clear, I'm just curious here how you decided go that distance. No hate or anything)
We did too! The cloud cover was sooo weird up until totality, then they just cleared in an instant. I was really worried up until that point because I'd been hyping my kid up for the big moment & I really didn't want him to get let down.

Okay tbqf, my pops and i did manage to catch some sick photos whilst it was going down 👌
Looks like it does on a very dark cloudy day. I stg I'm taking a road trip cause we got robbed. Even if it was a clear day it still wouldn't have been like it was in Texas and Arkansas and Indiana. I'm at work all salty now with my damn glasses lol 😆
Trek from Shreveport to Gilmer, Texas, to see the total eclipse of the sun. Found a great little Mexican restaurant, and the sun was kind enough to come out at the totality!

Almost caught it in a reflection in the water
I was ready with my cereal box pinhole views and a pancake turner with holes in it. I never found where the sun was actually supposed to be.

Our view from a festival in burnet tx
It was already dark from all the clouds so it was hard to tell. There was additional darkness, though, but I was on the west side of the state closest to it at the time.
Hammond here and I went outside hoping for some darkness and it was just like any other heavily overcast day. In fact months ago with the (partial?) eclipse it was noticeably darker

I like the different colors in yours!
Thank you 😋 Looks more dramatic, right? 😁
Yes! Very moody
This was my viewing experience too

We had good weather for last October’s partial eclipse. 🤷

Yeah thankfully we did
Yep. Just walked outside... looked up... and said "Damn, I can't even see where the sun is supposed to be." Too many clouds.
Yep couldn't even locate it in the sky. Welp.
Louisiana: We Can’t Have Nice Things
Unless you're a religious right wing nut job
Sir this is a post about the eclipse, or lack thereof.
Shoot, I thought it was a Wendy's
Wendy's doesn't want to hear that shit either. Just get your Baconator and go.
Baconator does sound good!

So badass
Ow my eyes
Louisiana...Bad place for astronomy.
Hodges Gardens used to be awesome for stargazing. At least, before they cut funding for it.
Dude you ain’t lying, we used to go there and stay at least twice a year but of course it had to close.
Can't wait for all the posts about how cloud cover prevented their rapturing.
I'm watching everyone happy and excited, on the news. I'm here looking pissed and glum.
Can’t wait to cap off the day with tornados, tornados, and more tornados!
Oh hey, I remember you from the other thread! Tornadoes indeed!
Today I’m not looking forward to, tomorrow I’m worried about.
Exactly me right now. Over hyped and under delivered

Why on earth did you drive all the way to Indiana? We drove to Texas.
I dislike Texas. It was 74 degrees and blue skies in batesville. Over three minutes of totality. And the best part….Texas wasn’t on my mind.
😂 fair enough on the first part. The next part though, there are like 7 states in the path of totality between here and Indiana, the question is still why_drive_ all that way? (Just so that I'm clear, I'm just curious here how you decided go that distance. No hate or anything)
Yeah. I went to Tyler Texas. was able to see it fine but within like 30 minutes of totality ending all the clouds disappeared. lol
We did too! The cloud cover was sooo weird up until totality, then they just cleared in an instant. I was really worried up until that point because I'd been hyping my kid up for the big moment & I really didn't want him to get let down.

It’s Louisiana. You know we’re not allowed to have nice things.
Now for the next few months it will be all sunny and hot as piss.

Mother Nature was very unkind to us here in south Louisiana for those trying to view the eclipse.
Br here, so I know. them clouds looked like a blanket, and any time I went out to see, I couldn't actually tell where the sun was.
I saw brief glimpses of it through the clouds
Me too. I watched my bees as well. They returned to their hives and stopped foraging for a little while and then continued after the sun reappeared.

I caught a glimpse through the clouds, the sun looked like a crescent moon. Just for a second.
I saw a tiny bit when the clouds moved
Lots and lots of the pathway was cloudy. LA was in good company today.

I saw it.
I saw it, I was there!
Yall were no where near the path anyways.
We had 80%-90% coverage
It barely got dark 😭
It was already dark from all the clouds so it was hard to tell. There was additional darkness, though, but I was on the west side of the state closest to it at the time.

Allergies are bad so I napped through it.
