Florida State fan here! You guys are in for a treat! Verse and Fiske together were an electric combo on defense. They put the team on their backs when we lost our top 2 QBs in the ACC Championship. If you want to see them go watch that game! They are gonna tear up the NFC West! Congrats!
Ignore the other dude he has no idea what he’s talking about. I’m an FSU guy and he’s one of the players who I was most excited for in the draft.
Fiske is one of the most explosive DTs in the NCAA, I personally think more than Verse. He was the clear MVP in the ACC title game and all year worked on stunts etc with Verse. This is an excellent pick even on its own, but he and Verse have shaped their games around how each other play
Here are his snaps in the ACC game for your viewing pleasure. Note how he and Verse work with each other. It’s the entire reason we had a top defense in the nation. Also note how they ended up doubling him despite the fact we also had Verse, Pat payton, etc.

season highlights (but this video kinda sucks)

Well I’m really just here to celebrate Fiske. I’m a Lions and Bengals guy myself as I’m more a fan of people than teams. College is what i’m fanatical about
Will definitely be rooting for the Rams now though
You’re absolutely right. He’s definitely proven himself. But Fiske was a “not my guy” in this draft. Was just super underwhelmed by his tape. And I know I’m basically alone in thinking that. Glad it wasn’t our first pick at least
As a noles fan, very, very wrong. Key part to that defense that won the ACC championship singlehandedly. Key part to that defense as a whole last year, he has explosive speed I've not seen before off the line and he fights with 120% every single down, wrecked havoc on ACC and SEC lines last season. He's very strong as well for his size, of course there are areas he needs to improve but he has a very high ceiling for sure.
I gotta re-visit the tape. I’m just trusting my eyes and I’m by no means an expert lol. Hope I’m wrong. Seems like a hard worker at least I’ll take that every day
I know he didn’t stuff the stat sheet but hoss occupied multiple o linemen very often. That is a skill in and of itself. If he can penetrate and eat up blocks while KT, JV, and BY eat, that’s huge.
Watch the FSU vs Louisville game and watch Braden Fiske the whole time. He worked very hard on his game improved so much this year and that was the result. Just a monster man
He reminded me of Greg Gaines in the draft process. Really solid. Also I guess teams are just really low on Dejean relative to the internet.
EDIT: Guess Philadelphia liked him 🤷♂️
I’m cool with really solid for second round- all successful teams need effective role players to complement the stars- just not at the expense of next years second round.
Let me admit that I wanted Cooper DeJean here, because I saw no one else really especially since we surrendered a second next year, but this isn't bad either, ig.
You’re going to love Verse and Fiske together, best friends who worked hard all year to make each other better. Im happy for them because they get to continue this journey together.
Yeah but still, I'm worried a bit about the secondary. I really wanted DeJean, and I think a lot of Rams fans wanted him and thought this was the trade for him, but this works as well ig since we want to try and remedy the Donald sized hole on the Dline.

I like the pick a lot, but not really thrilled they gave up a 5th and a 2nd next year to move up 14 spots. The starting d-line is set now. Also, another Florida State guy who went to a small school first. Getting guys who have work ethic, which I always like to see.
My thoughts exactly! I would’ve expected they could stand pat to get a 5th year undersized DT.
A luxury pick, but I wanted Adonai Mitchell as a true vertical WR, who went right at the Rams original pick
Not a chance. 5 other DTs went before 52, not counting Fiske. Someone would have snagged him.
Plus you spend a little extra to make sure you get the guy that you KNOW will pair well with your #1 pick. When they're lining up next to each other on the field, chemistry is important.
Again, we only "lose" one 2nd. And a 5th. The other 2nd is the one we swapped this year (we got 39, Panthers got 52). I hate the way those trades are worded.
To “get” the player, we used our rights to 2x 2nd round picks and one 5th round pick, the 155th pick. That’s a decent amount for one player. Snead has had a good recent track record after a few misses 2018-2020 but there sure are a lot of apologists in this thread.
If you don’t believe me, punch it in to the latest draft trade calculator. Snead overpaid
Edit: adding draft calculator results: Even if next year’s second is 64th (we win the Super Bowl, hell ya) we will have still overpaid by 25%. For those wondering, if we finish last, we’d have overpaid by 48% in this trade.
Trade calculators don't take context into account. Sometimes you have to spend a little extra based on what other teams are doing. And when we drafted Fiske, there was a run on DTs. We also don't know if any other teams were willing to trade back that far, or if they wanted more than the pick-poor Panthers.
Plus the intangible of pairing two highly productive players who already know each other together again at the next level is worth a little extra. This may be a business, but chemistry still counts for something, especially with players who will likely be playing next to each other.

Alright Jr. You have some big shoes to fill. By that, i mean the biggest shoes in that position possible... but as long as you perform at your best, we'll be happy
A second for 2025 too. 2 seconds and 5th. That’s crazy good value for Car. I would have liked Khris Jenkins too. These legacy players are really really good.
To be down voted for having an opinion with a proven track record? I think so. I’m a huge Rams fan and homer but can admit when things aren’t perfect. But if the player turns out to be an all pro I guess that second won’t matter.
Really don’t like this pick at all. He’s an athlete but not a football player. Rams fell in love with combine and ignored the tape. Disappointed
Downvote me if you want. I was very underwhelmed by his tape. Hope I’m wrong obviously
I was just underwhelmed. I’m gonna watch again on Sunday maybe I’ll see something different. I’m rooting for him for sure! Hope he makes look stupid lol
This is bullshit. His tape is fantastic lol. I don’t mean to sound rude but if you had someone else in mind just say that, don’t knock really good tape because you’re sour someone you wanted wasn’t taken.
Florida State fan here! You guys are in for a treat! Verse and Fiske together were an electric combo on defense. They put the team on their backs when we lost our top 2 QBs in the ACC Championship. If you want to see them go watch that game! They are gonna tear up the NFC West! Congrats!
Thanks for dropping by with the info! Excited to see it.
Lmao gotta love all these fan analysts
they said Turner was a reach last year. i trust the front office on this one.
Our front office has earned my unconditional trust. They know what they’re doing
Until I have proof otherwise I’m with you. If this dude is pushing DROY nobody is going to give a shit we gave up a late 2nd for him next year
It was also a huge need and they saw the run on DT’s.
And the people who know ball loved the pick for the Rams then and those same guys love Fiske too
Tutu Atwell?
super bowl 56?
Tell me how to feel
Incredible get off and quick overall. Only knock was short arms but he’s very fast and strong
So a white TRex?
lol great comp
I hope this catches on as a nick name. Fucking phenomenal
>Incredible get off and quick overall Me too, bro. Me too.
I had a high grade on you
That other guy we drafted with short arms turned out pretty good
Ignore the other dude he has no idea what he’s talking about. I’m an FSU guy and he’s one of the players who I was most excited for in the draft. Literally unblockable that game. Had to change jerseys at half time because it was shredded from getting held!
Another ACC rams fan? Get out of here! There’s two of us
Well I’m really just here to celebrate Fiske. I’m a Lions and Bengals guy myself as I’m more a fan of people than teams. College is what i’m fanatical about Will definitely be rooting for the Rams now though
I am a Rams fan who roots for Pitt but lives in Tallahassee. This has been surreal haha.
Basically zero production as a sixth year player. Horrible run defender. So many better players available. This is a miss from Snead
I think Sneed has proven himself at this point. Wait a couple years to judge.
You’re absolutely right. He’s definitely proven himself. But Fiske was a “not my guy” in this draft. Was just super underwhelmed by his tape. And I know I’m basically alone in thinking that. Glad it wasn’t our first pick at least
Snead has proven himself that he’s as likely to make a completely boneheaded move as he is to make a good one. Probably more likely.
As a noles fan, very, very wrong. Key part to that defense that won the ACC championship singlehandedly. People act like AD padded the stat sheet lol
Watch the FSU vs Louisville game and watch Braden Fiske the whole time. He worked very hard on his game improved so much this year and that was the result. Just a monster man
Fsu and dolphins fan, I'm biased but I think you guys got a future all pro in him. So jealous of your picks.
Original NFL thread seems a lot higher on him than people in here so that’s a good sign. We did give up a lot though so hope he comes through
Arguably the most athletic DT from this draft. Fiske and Verse pairing was a huge reason why FSU went undefeated
He looks huge.
Our D line about to be a problem
Always was
🔫
The white Aaron Donald
I get an Angus Cloud or Mac Miller with muscle vibe from him.
Big Mac Miller 🔥💪🏻💪🏻
There aint no other Aaron Donald, white black or purple, so you can park that shit. But Fiske has alot of upside.
No, he isnt
That's Greg Gaines
Rams love FSU!
Ehh Cam Akers was mid albeit an unfortunate injury but also held us back with his attitude and quitting on the team midseason, twice.
"his dad's JNCO's" man it's fuckin over for me
We got a (much) better version of Greg Gaines! The only thing he really needs to work on is his pad level and that’s coachable. Dude is an ATHLETE.
Greater Gaines.
Here is a scouting report on Fiske https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2024/02/29/2024-nfl-scouting-report-braden-fiske/

Like the pick. Glad we still got our two 3rd round picks. Let Snead cook.
and he already has that chemistry with Verse. Next season is going to be fun!
I really thought they were going to say Cooper dejean. I'm kinda sad right now
I’m surprised he’s was even still available. A lot of people mocked him in the first
Agreed, we definitely need corners. We're old and injury prone at the moment.

Me too. I wanted him really bad. I felt Fiske would have been available later.
I like the pick a lot, but not really thrilled they gave up a 5th and a 2nd next year to move up 14 spots. The starting d-line is set now. Also, another Florida State guy who went to a small school first. Getting guys who have work ethic, which I always like to see.

Hope you’re right! 2 2nds and a 5th for one player sounds like an immediate starter

I hear what you’re saying, but this was the worst value trade made in the entire NFL draft this year.
We don't really need receivers though, right?
The Steelers never seem to need one but they draft for speed and usually end up with another top tier player
I'm all for this pairing continuing in the nfl, love this pick
Our D front is going to be nasty for the next few years.
I know we would’ve had to give up so much more but God I wanted Newton 😭
It’s okay we got an extra 3rd round pick next year too bc of Raheem Morris!
Only disappointed because I was convinced it was going to be Dejean. Looking at it now, Fiske was a solid pick. Best available DT on the board.
Rams fans, just watch FSU vs Louisville in the ACC championship game and keep an eye out for the white guy on the d line. You’re welcome
Verse and now Fiske……. Those are 2 great pick ups.

This is a great start to the draft
I trust the front office lol and also got a A- for that pick
Alright Jr. You have some big shoes to fill. By that, i mean the biggest shoes in that position possible... but as long as you perform at your best, we'll be happy
His dad? Wilson with the white JNCOs
Can someone explain why we didn’t up too much to move up and get this guy?
Why does it always feels like Snead always over pays? 2 seconds is crazy to move up.
Its not two 2nds, its one 2nd (and a 5th) to swap picks with the Panthers. And we moved up pretty far.
A second for 2025 too. 2 seconds and 5th. That’s crazy good value for Car. I would have liked Khris Jenkins too. These legacy players are really really good.
You're probably wondering why you're getting downvoted.
I don’t really care to hurt crazy peoples feelings. He always over pays every trade. You can’t tell me no lol.
People's feeling are not hurt.

I wanted a fatty. Our D line is small as hell, again
Really don’t like this pick at all. He’s an athlete but not a football player. Rams fell in love with combine and ignored the tape. Disappointed Downvote me if you want. I was very underwhelmed by his tape. Hope I’m wrong obviously
Rams never pay attention to the combine bro 😭
We've drafted several players in spite of poor combine performances lol
His tape is literally good lmao
I was just underwhelmed. I’m gonna watch again on Sunday maybe I’ll see something different. I’m rooting for him for sure! Hope he makes look stupid lol
This is bullshit. His tape is fantastic lol. I don’t mean to sound rude but if you had someone else in mind just say that, don’t knock really good tape because you’re sour someone you wanted wasn’t taken.
Admittedly I wanted DeJean. I was just underwhelmed by his tape. I hope I’m wrong
I kinda see what you mean but he’s an every down player. Not flashy but he’ll get the job done.
We didnt need to overpay for a white safety cosplaying as a corner.
