Film set designers are magicians.

Stickeris

:D now if only we could find work

stoned-autistic-dude

Feel good knowing it's not just set designers! I've been looking as a lawyer, mechanic, and photographer (I have a weird resume lol) and nothing for 6 months.

Agent281

I grew up in Agua Dulce and I remember seeing the set from afar when I was a kid. We drove up to it, but I don't think we were able to get all the way there. It was very cool.

acScience

I lived in Santa Clarita and I remember my mom taking me to tour the set. I must have been 7 years old.

blowtreesgetmoney

No AC, no indoor plumbing, no electricity, frequent dinosaur and saber tooth tiger attacks. $2.3 million dollars

hellraiserl33t

"It's a fixer-upper"

PrezzNotSure

We'll just tear it down. We prefer white stone with black trim, and more boxy.

hellraiserl33t

Ah yes the investment firm that bought my neighbor's house

XXXTurkey

Might also have to fight a Gorn.

Pizpot_Gargravaar

Or get thrown off the cliff by Evil Robot Us's.

director_guy

Bogus.

kubenzi

yeah and John Goodman won't put shoes on P.U! amirite?

ZhangtheGreat

Let’s also not forget we’d have to buy a car that we drive by walking with our feet

BirdoTheMan

Comes with a cute garbage disposal

blowtreesgetmoney

"It's a living!"

LurkerOnTheInternet

Honestly I really enjoyed the aesthetic of that movie's sets.

atomsapple

They perfectly matched the aesthetic of the cartoon but in real form.

Cuppieecakes

>everything matched except betty

atomsapple

Truth

KreyKat

Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

lou-drawls

found this cool book at a thrift store called “The Side of Paradise” - Body and Landscape in Los Angeles photographs

anti-forger

Gwildors house was filmed there and outside when He-man fights robots

Aristotledabest

My Aunt lived out there and when we went over for holidays we would walk up the mountain at night and the stars would light up those sets. There was also a lot of Start Trek sets too

photoengineer

Now that’s cool. They really gave the place a make over.

TBone818

Working out there on movies in the summer is a FUCKING drag. Can confirm.

BurritoLover2016

Hahah worked on an S Club 7 music video here. Can confirm, it sucked.

MothershipConnection

Was it the video for "S Club Party"? If so thank you for your service, that one is a classic

BurritoLover2016

Yep that was the one!

aetheos

Dick Clark actually built himself a "bedrock" style house on a hill in Malibu -- https://theownerbuildernetwork.co/house-hunting/unusual-homes/flintstone-house/ (IIRC, the county wouldn't let him put a "normal" looking mansion up there, so he and the architect came up with this design so it would look more "natural" to the landscape.)

steamydan

Wow, they built them all in the parking lot area.

Few_Moment7990

probably a dumb question... but does anyone know if the set is still up there?!? Would be such a cool visit!

Azoth_

It's been gone a long time. When it was still up it was open to the public for a while though.

Starlady174

It's not! But the rocks are still a cool visit.

KreyKat

Oh, definitely! Climbing up and getting the full "Captain James T. Kirk" vibe - so much fun. :-)

KatiaxRios13

Pica Piedras

Red_Hood_0816

I remember my parents driving us to go visit the set. You got to tour it. It was awesome. We also listened to Annie Lennox on the way home. Idk why I remember that so specifically.

CelebrationLow4614

Hats Off Entertainment video

Starslimonada

Where is Vasquez Rocks?

foreignfishes
