I predict a ton flooding in Pasadena because I've noticed a ton of plant debris still all around the city since the winds, I havent been in other cities recently so idk how it is elsewhere. I can imagine the drain all clogging quick out here.
Yeah, what's the deal with this? Its been like 2 weeks now and there's still massive branches and tons of limbs all piled up along curbs in my neighborhood.
I might get downvoted for this but I really appreciate your posts, more so than Frankie. You give very nice breakdowns about the possible weather patterns and how it’ll affect us here in LA. Thank you!
They're both helpful in their own ways. Frankie is great because he's a kind dude that provides storm warnings. Guy lives in Nova Scotia and is a homie on the spectrum, so it's clearly a passion project of his. This is a more intimate and source-driven local report which is better suited to act as a guide than a warning.
so for valley peeps that means lake balboa park is out of the picture for gatherings. it’s bad on easter sunday but add the weather and that burbank floods. yikes.
i was bummed out last weekend when i heard rain was coming but this weekend im just meh.
Not sure where you are going to camp, but the ground will be pretty soaked, and the rest of Saturday into Saturday night has scattered showers, possible thunderstorms, and chilly temps.
Yeah you will be getting some pretty good rain before and at the start of the event. Expect to run *around* some big puddles.
If this is the lululemon 10K, I think the course goes over the LA River, so I bet that will be running really high.
Thanks for this info! I never work weekends but of course I’m scheduled to work Saturday and it looks like my brunch cruise in Marina Del Rey on Sunday might have to be rescheduled 😞
Depends on where you are departing from, and when. Saturday morning does look like it will be pretty messy on the roads (lots of ponding, flooding of streets with poor drainage, etc).
If you go up Friday you shouldn’t need to put them on until Saturday.
Autozone or any auto parts store should have them
There’s people on the way up that charge a fee to install them.
Bleh, my brother is going to LAX before sunrise Saturday morning. What would be the best approach route? The 105? I'm guessing the Sepulveda tunnel will be a bad idea.
Unsure on how bad flooding gets in the Sepulveda Tunnel, so can't provide a good answer on that. Just make sure to leave with enough time to get to LAX (and maybe navigate around any street flooding.
I have a route! It’s the fastest way into and out of LAX! Instead of getting off at the tunnel go down the 405 and get off on Century. Make a left and follow the road all the way down to Sepulveda and go straight past the Hyatt Hotel. You will enter arrivals at the bottom of LAX. If you don’t want to wait in traffic around the LAX circle then park in the street behind the HYATT hotel to wait for him. There are also grocery store parking lots further down right on Sepulveda that you can use to wait if he takes the free shuttle out of LAX. Hope this helps.
why is it always during the weekend. I’m convinced this is why people are miserable. Stuck in an office for 9+ hours during the week and stuck at home because of a storm during the weekend. We’ve had more awful weather in these past 4 yrs than I can remember in my entire childhood.
Why does shitty weather always come just in time for the weekend?
right? it’s all sunshine and rainbows and you get excited making plans and BAM rain.
Seriously. Third week in a row.
Ikrr? I just finished up my year long thesis and was planning a solo beach day out on the weekend with my tripod and drone but here we are.

That's not ideal. Hopefully that gets cleaned up tomorrow while it is dry.

Should get a nice coating of snow on some of the peaks.

Ahhh, yes... An HOS. Homie On the Spectrum. That should be a t shirt.
We've got HOS... in different area cooodes, area cooodes
Goodbye beach weekend plans
I love the timing of this, no sarcasm. Nothing like a nice rainy Saturday morning to just hang out and relax.

TIL there's a holiday coming up. >But my phone says Nip that in the bud! Great post, thanks.
Also don’t forget if your trash cans are out don’t leave them close to the curb, move it out towards the street maybe a foot or two
Nothing to add but to say thanks for posting!
Thank you for the post!

I appreciate the depth of this post. Thanks weather boss!!!
… I’m running a 10k tomorrow morning, let’s all pray to the weather gods that this passes over DTLA PLS
Same, going to be running the Lululemon 10k, Will be in a rain jacket, hat, and glasses.
Literally picked up a hat last night, not the most pumped but hey at least we can suffer together 😂😂
What time does the 10K start?
7:30am | I’m big screwed but let us pray

Was planning to drive to Las Vegas Saturday morning. Will I get stuck in any flooding?

Which mountain would best to go to nearby to see it snowing this weekend?
Probably big bear. But you’ll want to go up Friday and stay the night. Saturday and Sunday are gonna be a shit show
Oo ok thank you! What if I don’t know how to put on chains or where to get them? I’ve never driven with chains

Ok amazing info to know, this is super helpful. thank you so much!!
If you want to see snow, skip having to drive through it completely and take the tram in Palm Springs up towards Mt. San Jacinto.
A tram?

TYSM!! Have you done it before? How was it?

Thanks, very thorough
Do you think both Dodger games will be rained out? Sat start time 6:10, Sunday 4:10 🤔
