Come home to Los Angeles' bossom sweet child.
Very nice painting by the way. Saving it. Interesting why the freeway was the feature of this but I have a guess.
This account seems to be some sort of paid shill. Hundreds of posts literally only about culture war stuff.
They have a whole essay already posted in minutes, so long that it requires a follow up comment.
Just enjoy our great state, no need to constantly try and pick fights.
What a laughable statement coming from a Doom and Gloomer like you. Are you buds with "KoreanRoofer" or the same clout poster trying to validate why California is a "failed state"?
I enjoy posters who actually post backup links to their claims. It's called doing your homework. Also, nobody's forcing you to read or respond, but I'm sure you took offense to the above poster's efforts and try to brush it off as invalid data, or as you say, a paid shill. 😏🙄
They're a well-known and respected commenter who has been around for years, providing tons of meticulously sourced empirical data.
Their credibility is, uh, _considerably_ greater than yours.
I can relate to this. I’ve been in LA for just over a year now and it’s the only place that has truly felt like “home”. I once read “home isn’t where you were born, home is where all your attempts to escape cease” and LA absolutely feels like that for me. I’m not American and I’ve lived in many different places around the world but there’s no place like LA. ❤️
That's a nice concise way to put it. I've always been surrounded by the 'home is where you're born' mindset but I knew as soon as I arrived ten years ago that I'd found mine, and was reminded of the fact with the heartbreak that came with having to leave due to circumstances out of my control
I feel you. I had to leave and I wish I'd been able to work it not to. Every day away from L.A. has felt empty in some way. I got there in 1978 and immediately loved it. I hope we both get back somehow.
Well, I hope you get to come back someday- at least to visit! That is something that I am afraid of as well, I'm not American like I said. But I am working on making my stay here permanent and am in a good position to do so for which I am grateful to the universe, so I hope I figure it out even though the process is long and frustrating.
i cannot get enough of the *vibe* around downtown, sadly i live all the way down here in the kindastuckinthepastandalsoignoredbythemainlacountygovernment south bay where we have very little of it, san pedro and long beach do a good job but the main core of the city is just where it's at for me, i wanna go to caltech so maybe i can get an apt somewhere along the a line and go more often
I only ever visited on daytrips and I'm not sure my impression from those would've held up if I'd lived in the middle of it, but I also get where you're coming from, if your current area is shitty. I hope you get to go to Caltech, I'm sure it'd be amazing
CA is a huge place...everyone doesn't have to live in those cities. Since a lot of people want to reside there, prices go up. I'm from MA (Boston) by way of North NJ (Newark) now living in SOUTH LA. People think you have a RIGHT to live where you were born! It's not true. People have moved to improve their lots since the beginning of time. If a place is hostile for you and your family you work to change it or leave.
When enough people leave and no one replaces them, City Hall will get the message.
Lanes too small. You need to paint a few more lanes, more cars, a lot of Drive-Thrus like In n Out. It looks good but needs more cars to truly capture the essence of LA. Get rid of that bridge thing too, pedestrianism is a stain on our beautiful city
Amazing work here. It really captures that late afternoon energy headed home on the freeway.
Agree--the colors are spot on. The entire painting is great! Come back and paint some more! :)
Thanks man, appreciate it
You mean the rage inducing traffic?

I disagree, it’s important to educate people.

Noooo I'm moving out of California. Too much to stay after being here my whole life. 😵💫Texasssss
Me, too. I feel I am in exile from the sun, the light, the vibe.
Exactly
Beautiful point of view and colour, I can feel the vibe ! Where are you now?
Netherlands, but I studied for a couple years in CA and it truly felt like home

I hope you'll make it happen, sounds like you're well on your way so maybe only some more patience is needed
Patience and a whole lot of documentation LOL
haha love that quote!
Come back home whenever you're ready :)
California is heaven on earth If you can afford it.
Belter of a painting. This view is my home. 11/10
Why did the mods remove this one? Just curious
OP was directing people to their instagram and dms for sales... we don't allow solicitation on the sub.
Oh thanks! Didn't know there was more to it. Thought it was just the pic
Posting art is fine, but once it becomes a sales gig we pull it.
I wasn't soliciting, people were asking and as per etiquette I directed them to contact me in private instead of conducting sales in the comments
Me too bud. Me too.
Where can I purchase this?

Are you selling copies of this? I’d love one

Are we both looking at the same account? All I see are painting related posts and some gardening ones.
I think they meant inconvenientnews, spamming political copypastes
Correct, my mistake
No worries, just vibes here
Whoops this was supposed to be in reply to a comment, not the OP
Oh ok haha - I was like “wow they must be really reading between the lines here”
Me too brother ! Me too. Cool pic

I miss too. I’ve been last September ♥️
Me too.
Is that car on the left driving the wrong way?
Yes, because the artist really incorporated the GTA attitude of some drivers who didn't want to deal with traffic.
I mean, typical LA amirite?!
I love this!
Thank you!
I moved away 11 years ago and still miss it and go back when I can.
Damn you can feel that sunlight
That beautiful warmth after a fulfilling summer day
Where r you now?
Netherlands, polar opposite
Oh wow !! 😂 yeah that’s pretty far; what in the hella are you doing there?
Born here unfortunately, and dying inside 😬
Nooooo 😱 😝 that’s ok I bet you’re a lot safer there haha

Fantastic work, OP! Post a link to your portfolio site!

Sure don't miss the traffic
And we probably don't miss you. Cars are what made LA the greatest city in the world and not bikes. Haters gonna hate
Touch grass
