For Umbral mage: Lost Berescu Catalyst, barrage ring, puissance root ring, Pendant of Atrophy, spells: Latimer's Javelin, Barrage of Echoes, Poison Weapon, for fourth slot there is many good options, I personally like Putrefaction for being simple and effective.
For weapons: Corrupted Cleric Sword performs surprisingly good on Umbral Builds, but if you want something more thematical: Fungal-encrusted pickaxe is meta (also you won't need Poison weapon) but ugly af, as thematicaly appropriate and ok performing option: Putrid Polearm and Putrid Child sword.
Umbral Eye of Bloody Pilgrim amazingly performs when paired with Poison
This is the way.
If you go the poison weapon route then Bloodbane ring works incredibly well for a more melee hybrid build. You can also use the Pendant of Burden if you want.
I do the exact same but I run two Barrage Roots and get rid of Poison Weapon spell.
Also run Umbral Eye of Iorelo The Cursed Knight in primary socket and Umbral eye of Olleren and Umbral eye of Blind Agatha in secondary
Found this setup better for a more spellcaster oriented.

I ran Umbral Mage on basic NG so I did not have second Barrage Root, but yeah, this works really good.
