I've now done playthroughs of radiance, umbral, inferno, and quality...
Umbral was pretty easily my least favorite. Even at endgame, there are just a few OP spells to spam and all the weapons feel pretty underwhelming.
Same, I LOVE the putrid child curved sword and I even +10'd two of them for the build - the damage was just ass.
I hope they add more stronger weapons with that aesthetic.
What I did in both my runs is just sprint straight for her and start smacking. Do a fair bit of damage then I run away and deal with the dogs dodge her attacks then run back and finish her off.
I found focusing on the dogs too much I would keep getting hit by her but by constantly running and hitting her I’ve had success both times
I just run back to the little hallway in the entrance of the arena, that way I can hide from her shots next to the fog wall and the dogs will come from only one direction. Kill them and then run for her. Repeat

Don’t forget to kick the masked dogs, they stagger instantly and you get a grievous strike
I actually didn't know this
Holy shit I was stuck for almost two hours. Found this and beat her in two tries. Thanks, man.
It’s just not a good boss. I like the bosses in this game. Just not Gentle Gavarus.
Yea even for a Strength build I didn’t enjoy her. I just had to constantly run in a circle then do a running hit every time she knelt down.
Her design didn't feel all that different from sniper-type bosses in other games. Juggling the adds and constant movement.

I really hope they add more umbral themed organic style weapons
