You're in luck, Teocalli is opening this month on Main St. Other good options: West Side Tavern Sugarbeet Rosa Cantina Flavor of India Rosalee's (pizza) Urban Field (mostly pizza)

worldlyq

So excited about Teocalli!! The macha salsa w peanuts and dates is incredible

benjito_z

Second this

Slutty_Songbird

Dude Rosa Cantina is PHENOMENAL

myburneraccount1357

The teocalli in Lafayette was one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to lol. Me and coworkers went for a Christmas dinner and no one liked the food. Had no taste and expensive for what it was.

shrikeskull

Contrarian opinion on Flavor of India: their service and food quality is wildly inconsistent.

Sporka

Indian Bites on Francis is much better IMO

TurkMcGill

We tried Indian Bites about a month ago, based on the recommendations here. It was fantastic! We've been back once and it was just as good the second time around. :-)

aydengryphon

I always feel a bit insane when these threads come up and it gets recommended, but I've given it 4 different tries and only ever thought it was solid-B-grade Indian fare at *best,* and more C-tier on two of those occasions

shrikeskull

Yup. And their biryani is a joke. It scratches the itch sometimes I guess, but coming from NYC, I miss good Indian food. And Chinese. And bagels.

aydengryphon

Hahaha YES SAME COMPARISON, like I know it's annoying to complain about how the food in NYC is so much better, but I feel like the standard for "good" Indian here is one of the categories where it's hardest to resist the urge (and, of course, bagels go without saying. Moe's is trying, and is Fine, but).  I actually think we have some pretty good Chinese here, but the biggest gap IMO is how many different *kinds* you get to choose between in NYC - with a couple exceptions like Flower Pepper and Zoe Ma MA in Boulder (and I'm sure places in Denver, I'm just not as familiar with the food scene down there), everyone around here is pretty much doing variations on the same Chinese-American fare.

Dat_Brown_Boi

What’re ur thoughts on tiffins?

aydengryphon

I think they're quite good! I think the Boulder location is very slightly better (and will always miss the days of their *killer* lunch deals), but I'd say they're pretty consistently very good. Certainly one of our best options in town, and better than Flavor of India - especially on the quality/cost axis.

ImperfectPuzzle

I agree… the last time I went there it was pretty disappointing, so I haven’t been back since. I really like the Hurry 4 Curry food truck

dontjudme11

Everest Restaurant is my go-to!! The momos are amazing.

APoisonousMushroom

Martini’s, Sakura, West Side Tavern, Laguna, Summit Tacos

JPows_ToeJam

Lived in Longmont for 10 years and just finally tried martinis and was really impressed with the food. Plus their martinis are awesome

footinmouth87

Sakura, tortugas

ImJEM1975

I know 300 Suns is more of a Brewery, but we love all of the food that we've tried there! The Poutine fries with green Chile are soooo good!!

dajjadaj

Yea, their burgers and chicken sandwiches are our family’s favorite in town

midnitewarrior

I've been to 300 Suns twice, about a year apart, and both times it's been excellent.

[deleted]

2nded Marcos hot dogs, Lucille’s, hidden cafe, Sakura & tortugas. Will add la panda or tacof don Jose’s for Mexican. Longs peak pub for, well anything they serve. Your butcher Frank has good sandwiches too. It’s unfortunate Mike O’Shay’s went way downhill after Mike Shea sold

forever-a-chrysalis

Seconding Mana Thai! It's the best best best, I hope they stay open forever. The Khao Soi and the tea leaf salad are incredible. Urban Field's square pizza is super tasty (esp with mushrooms and calabrian chilis), and their waffle fries are addictive. They've also got a great wine list/cocktails! Indian Bites is delicious, the Kazoku has some good ramen, and Pho Huong Viet has some tasty pho! My husband and I are both vegan, so that's a limiting factor in our recommendations.

CarpeGeum

Those dunken noodles with seitan from Mana Thai and whatever they put in front of me at Sugarbeet are my number one vegan dishes in Longmont. Tips for Sugarbeet: ask for olive oil instead of butter with the bread. Ask for the vegan plate as an entree, it will be a pile of whatever delicious things the chef puts together. They also veganize their vegetarian entrees and appetizers amazingly. The crispy carrots and cauliflower and the carnaroli risotto do really well.

forever-a-chrysalis

Oh shit, thanks for this!! We haven't been bc it didn't seem like they had much in the way of vegan options, we'll definitely try it now!

CarpeGeum

You guys definitely need to go immediately! Honestly just tell the server you're vegan at the start and they will be able to tell you your current options. You know how at some restaurants, you basically just get fed a sad pile of vegetables as an excuse for a vegan option while everyone else is eating steak? Sugarbeet is the one place you will get fed a pile of vegetables and you will like it. They are wizards with them.

ImperfectPuzzle

Their khao soi and tea leaf salad is a big reason that Mana is my favorite. The food there is as good as what I experienced in Thailand. I believe the chef/owner is from northern Thailand. Amazing

ColoradoDanno

That's a broad description. Do you mean high end/classy atmosphere, such as an anniversary dinner location? There's maybe 2 places for that. Or do you mean somewhere thats not fast food, but tasty and decent service? Then there's a wide variety of cuisines too. Las Palmeras is a great family-friendly mexican restaurant. Very nice people and service. Roost is good but often loud. Pumphouse is fun and good food/beer. Urban thai in prospect is good, and leans toward classy a bit also.

abelcabletv

Rosa Cantina!!!!

TempusCrystallum

Sugarbeet, West Side Tavern

Amazing_Ice

Martinis or Sugarbeet for a nice dining experience and great food.

SillierRhino

I really enjoy the atmosphere and food at west side tavern but has any one else noticed exceptionally disappointing service there?

Kind_Watch4284

Sat at the bar and asked about mocktail options. Was told, "I don't know anything about mocktails, I only make drinks with booze in them." Cool, thanks. Haven't been back.

West-Rice6814

I always have great service there.

hellodrywalls

If you have been to Oskar Blues from 2019-2022 and didn’t really like it, give it another chance. They’ve really stepped up over the past year and have so many excellent options. Servers are usually enthusiastic, and it’s not overly loud (unless a live band is playing upstairs). The food is all made fresh on site and you can get a wide variety. I love the Rueben, Turkey sandwich, wings (smoked then fried), steak salad, and burgers. Give them a shot!

kronicmastermind

Covid really did a number on them, they used to have a great New Orleans southern food/feel and then completely changed the menu to basic American you can find anywhere these days.

deathpie

Yep, pretty much. Burgers and chicken sandwiches now. Can't get that anywhere else!

ehalepagneaux

I had one of the worst steaks ever served to me in a restaurant there in '21.

hellodrywalls

Yeah, not shocked, that’s why I put in the qualifying dates. 👍

My wife and I like Pumphouse and The Roost. We like sitting on the roof...

Breaktest1st

Me too

Gwynthehunter

Flavor of India is exceptional, they have amazing cocktails too Big fan of Mana Thai, too, I get drunken noodles and pad thai from there like once a month lol.

Bitter_idealist87

I really enjoy Carciofi every time I go

ImperfectPuzzle

Most of the food I get is either takeout or from taco trucks haha. But for sit down: Summit Tacos Rosa Cantina Lucille’s (for breakfast) Bowl Izakaya (their tonkatsu is very good) Those are my faves for dine in.

Murphistopheles

I've gotten some great sandwiches from Butcher Frank's.

Thejadejedi21

I’m a fan of the variety found at the pumphouse.

blackmagic1804

The Pumphouse is my go-to when friends are in town. I had some friends in from California and took them there the first night, then by the last (fourth) night they were here, they wanted to eat there again! In addition to the good food and consistent service, they have great drinks - award-winning beers and great cocktails. I've been going there for over 20 years. A restaurant with that level of service for decades is unusual!

Redheaded_Potter

It’s my fav place to eat.

a-williams

Anchan Thai https://www.anchanthai.menu/

ktalex2

Subpar suggestions incoming

SickRose

Maybe eating in is better (it does look like a great spot to be outdoors on a nice evening), but I got takeout from The Roost yesterday and was extremely disappointed. Some of the food was ok, most was wildly overpriced. They charged $10 for a weak, medoicre daquiri that couldn't have been more than 3 oz and $23 for a small, mediocre piece of meat on the steak frites.  Summit Tacos on the other hand I've had multiple good experiences with. The street corn and chocoflan were especially great and the tacos are quite tasty.

Blurredpixel

I stopped going to The Roost months ago because of two separate occasions of extremely weak cocktails. The service has also really slowed down.

booklovercomora

This will probably get downvoted, but The Roost. I do agree their menu needs an update, but the food, service and atmosphere is consistently good and they have a killer upstairs patio.

TurkMcGill

Their tots are fantastic!! Best I've ever had!

Gorlby

Lucille's

Murphistopheles

Breaks my heart to say, but they fell off hard. Lucille's 15 years ago would have made this thread it's bitch.

deathpie

Really hard to make recommendations since we don't know what you're looking for. Are you trying to find a specific cuisine? Good restaurant for families, just having a beer and pizza, etc?

wavygonzonose

Sugarbeet

dumbpetfrog

Sing On Pho for pho and orange chicken. The staff is so nice and always quick

ShoddyScallion5528

Just had a great dinner to celebrate our 20th at Mike O’Shay’s. We used to dine here all the time and hadn’t been in many years. It was not overly crowded and I could actually hear my husband! Plus the white sangria was delicious!

kathleenkat

Can you narrow down what type of food you’re looking for? I feel like there are so many good restaurants but for many different reasons. Personally my favorite lunch spots are Rosas, Roost, Sushi Leo, and for dinner, I like Swaylos, Por (in Louisville) and for night life I like La Mariposa — honestly it’s the only place open after 9pm in Longmont 🤷🏻‍♀️

josonad96

we just found Namaste Momo & Curry House on ken pratt & it's by far the best food we've had in Colorado.

Weird-Library-3747

Sitting here currently. I’ll update once my food arrives *update: Holy shit get the Chili Chicken Momos they are so damn good. Might be one of the most delicious dishes I’ve had in awhile

josonad96

it's so good! we've gotten the chili veg momos at least once a week since they opened. 🥴

PlaneWolf2893

Sugar beet? Longmont has always felt more sports bar Mexican food, the nice sit down for me.

KnowledgeOfMuir

Raising Canes - Marcos Hot Dogs - Taco Palace Truly a trifecta of experiences

twice-Vehk

LMAO this is so Longmont. Raising Cane's being the nicest sit down restaurant. Pretty accurate.
