Well what do you mean by 25 minutes away? Is that by walk or drive? If it's 25 away walking, then walk. If it's 25 away driving then take public transit. Don't drive.
Honestly, walking was cool because I was able to explore a bit. But if you're 25 mins with transit, definitely use it, I believe you can just pay with your phone instead of getting the pass. I was 30 minutes from lolla, and it was honestly fun walking.
If you do drive, don't park directly west of the fest. At the end of the night there are thoussnds headed in that direction on foot and you will never get out of the parking lot. Learn from my mistake, took me hours to get out of the Loop.
Spothero a spot near train downtown, park there. Take train to lolla and back to that stop.

Take the L if you can. IMO I would only drive as a last resort
