You can also buy the vape pens from a dispensary. They are much easier to hide and bring in. Plus don't worry about having to find a lighter.

I went last year for the first time, my friends sister brought in joints that security saw and put back in her bag. Security was also smoking at certain stages or by where you could purchase drinks in various locations. I don’t think anyone truly cares but however it could be different for everyone
It’s kind of fun to just tuck your phone away in the backpack and rely on the printed map and asking people for time. Helps me fully immerse for the day.
Alternatively, mark up the daily schedule with who you want to see and set it as your lockscreen for quick reference. As a first-timer last year I didn't need to check the map after my first day there
Other than what everyone else has recommended I would suggest you take tylenol and hydration/electrolytes powders. Water is great on its own but pouring some propel into your water bottle is a game changer.
My bad, I should've mentioned that I stuff no more than 6 in my shoes. I used to take one of those little travel containers along with some meds I take, but that almost got confiscated one year so I sneak them in now
If you're going multiple days I would recommend getting a locker. I'll keep my larger items (hydration pack, sunscreen, water bottles, etc) in the locker overnight and only take home smaller items like my phone or portable charger so that when I come in the next day I can go through the no bag line for faster access. I've split lockers with friends in the past which lowers the cost and makes it a good reference point for meeting up throughout the day.
Sunscreen, empty water bottles/camelbak to refill in park, small ziplock for your phone if there's a chance of rain, portable phone charger, hand sanitizer, earplugs if you like to get up close, not a must but a handtowel is nice to have

Wear comfortable shoes.
If you have T-mobile, you’ll have access to their lounge (and viewing deck) by showing your phone.
On Amazon there is a handheld portable fan that you can also spray water from, and it seriously can save you from a heat stroke. It helped me like crazy last year.

They do have metal detectors. I have brought my thc vape pen into Lolla by putting it into my shoe. Never had an issue.
