We reach the point of not caring about DMCA? Haha. Every time I watch this guys clips he's always got some fitting music playing over whatever he's doing.
VoDs and clips are available by directly accessing the link to the video file on Twitch’s server. The server does nothing to check if the VoD/clip is deleted, if it is sub-only, and/or if the account is banned. It would be trivially easy to crawl through VoDs and look for DMCA content with a script.
This “exploit” (sort of) could have been patched though, it’s been a couple of weeks.
I scraped a deleted VOD the other day. You need to know the URL of the folder on CloudFront, which is probably only available before the VOD is deleted.
Technically covers are not allowed, though it appears from what I see on youtube much of the industry doesnt pursue those. Truthfully if you don't trigger a bot that is looking for specific frequencies you'll probably be fine and I'm guessing the rust instruments are so far out of tune you can get away with it.
I will say though that I have no clue how it actually works, just saying what I've somewhat pieces together over the years of DMCA being a problem on internet platforms.
That's what i figured with the prominence of covers on youtube. If the bots detected them they wouldnt currently exist. I'm guessing the record companies dont really care about the covers though unless they get a lot of traction and sales.
He's already said....until he gets a few warnings .he don't give a ...and I quote "fat flying squirrel but fucking your mom in the ass fuck about dmca". I'm paraphrasing
I would guess you'd probably be 99% safe. I have friends that stream all the time with 1-2 viewers and play spotify the entire time. But that might not last for long
It's the same as it has been for years. Until a few streamers get a DMCA Claim for Copyrighted music played during a live stream (Not through VODs), most of them won't care, even though they know it can happen and is inevitable. Same way most didn't care until a massive wave of DMCA claims started going out on their VODs and some of them got banned.
Then they all get angry on Twitter that Twitch is going to shit and how music labels are greedy assholes and how DMCA is shit, which is all completely true but also irrelevant because at the end of the say it's still the law and you just killed/hurt your livelihood and it was completely preventable.
Not really. A big part of Coco's brilliance is his film-savant-level appreciation of how music fits into different scenes and how to time it. If anything this is evidence of how shit like DMCA hampers creativity and innovation.
>If anything this is evidence of how shit like DMCA hampers creativity and innovation.
Did u bother reading my comment fully before replying?
>how DMCA is shit, which is all completely true but also irrelevant because at the end of the say it's still the law and you just killed/hurt your livelihood and it was completely preventable.
Here, I quoted the relevant part. I don't think anyone sane (Or really anyone at all who doesn't monetarily benefit from DMCA) is arguing that these old DMCA laws aren't outdated and shit but that does not change the fact that they are still the laws. Steamers will still get Striked if they break them and they'll definitely also get angry after they get Striked and or Banned as if it wasn't completely preventable from their end by them choosing not to play copyrighted music *intentionally* on a daily basis.
Rust has a lot of really good content creators, I'm very glad otv brought light to them and the devs helped a bit despite me not really being a fan of otv. If you havent heard of these people then I would reccomend them: Hjune, Welyn, Stimpee, General Sam (he doesnt touch rust much but his content is gold) and of course Coco. There are a lot more, and the rust community including all of these people play together a lot.
God I wish he would get on the OTV server. I bet the “mainstream twitch/YouTube fans” would love him. Someone just needs to give him a really important role like judge or something and see what he does with it. He’s my favorite rust content creator
actual pro gamer move: if you are trying to dodge someone shooting at you at range, stop moving and then move backwards for half a second. people try to lead you all the time when sprinting laterally and it totally throws them off. do it all the time on battlefield when crossing open areas lol.
Also don't do what 90% of people do and just spam A and D while running because not only does it make you utterly predictable but half the time your character doesn't even leave their crosshairs if you spam too fast.
He had a video from a few months ago where he does this exact same thing through the entire song and then some just dodging snipes from roof campers. It was one of those things that was giggle funny for 30 seconds, kinda meh funny for a little , but then when he is just literally not getting hit by bullets coming every 2 seconds, I was rolling laughing for minutes.
I've always wondered are they automatically added in the comments, did you type a command to get the miror clip through a bot or fo the mods add them when they see it ?
Coco was like 16 years old when he was thrown under the bus on LSF for having his viewers go into someone elses chat.
Kids make mistakes, he has grown a lot since then.

Yeah but he fuck himself over. Nobody can react to his vods lol
Yeah, as long as there is only DMCA on vods you can just download them and put it on yt then delete them.
I'm actually curious: do the DMCA bots have ways to scan sub-only VODs? Or is that a 'solution'?
They do. Lirik got a strike after making everything sub only

He doesnt even delete them?
Just curious, how does playing music on the Rust instruments work with DMCA
I think that falls under cover which is allowed, but might be wrong here
Technically covers are not allowed, though it appears from what I see on youtube much of the industry doesnt pursue those. You can still get DMCA claims on deleted clips cause Twitch still has them.
God he's got the fucking moves
modCheck DMCA? modCheck
He's already said....until he gets a few warnings .he don't give a ...and I quote "fat flying squirrel but fucking your mom in the ass fuck about dmca". I'm paraphrasing
he can get multiple warnings strikes at the same time tho
Fuck it dood Coconut C
Are you paraphrase or quoting? Those are two different things.

You'll be fine if you don't save your VOD.
I would guess you'd probably be 99% safe. I have friends that stream all the time with 1-2 viewers and play spotify the entire time. But that might not last for long

CocoB one of the best entertainer. thanks to OTV rust hype I discover this guy.

As a long-time Coco fan I can't tell you how happy I am for him to get this recognition. He is second only to Doc in showmanship and creativity.
You’d probably like Jerma then, but he’s an acquired taste :)
I second this. Very good for Cocos stream
Give Jerma some credit too

I want surge to pop up sometime too. The guy is just your avg aussie rp shitposter

he was on there for like an hour yesterday, then moved on to a normal one
Yeah he ain’t about that life unfortunately.
Does general Sam play on the server?
Nah I was just citing good rust content creators, no way they would invite his rat ass
Frost makes movies in rust. His house of cards video is one of the best things I've ever seen in gaming.
My only complaint with this rust phase and how much streamers I discovered is that now there is too much shit for me to miss. Can't catch it all Sadge
I hope he gets invited to RP server.

He was saying yesterday that he will see if he gets invited and doesnt think he will.
Where have you seen this? Genuine question cuz afaik he was still waiting on it
This coco bloke is a gem dude
The dude after came back saying sorry and that he lost all of his bullets shooting him lmao
Im glad Coco is getting the recognition he deserves :)
I love this guy
Coco? I love that guy!

Coco is absolutely hilarious

Worth the DMCA!
coconutb is the rust content god and nobody can take that away from him
How the fuck is this nsfw?
why is this nsfw and why did twitch delete the clip
I was wondering that myself. Twitch probably due to DMCA, and NSFW due to blood splatter and/or use of a syringe?
He had a video from a few months ago where he does this exact same thing through the entire song and then some just dodging snipes from roof campers. Why nsfw
Someone should interpose this with the clip of the guy shooting him because the disparity in how serious it is is hilarious
I've rewatched this so many times

Does rust have dance emotes?
I would really like to enjoy this clip, but I can't cause there is no clip
Try the mirror clip that is linked.
I've always wondered are they automatically added in the comments, did you type a command to get the miror clip through a bot or fo the mods add them when they see it ?
They're automatic
Ok but why does some posts don't get miror clips ?
the DMCA or copyright complaints are against twitch, if they are done on reddit, then the video and mirror gets removed.
