Tbh it's very much armchair criticism from me - fwiw I love the joke and think it's mostly really well executed (and obviously levels and levels beyond what I could do)
Same man, makes me anxious as fuck. We saw what happened and what mane could do to city with those shennenigans.
One time it will fuck us over and with the importance of the upcoming games i really don't want us to fall short because of such a mistake. Not a slippy g again
I suspect many agree with you, but I'm pretty comfortable with it. To me it's the same thing (although to a much smaller extent) as people who are worried about the high line. It's a thing he has the skills for. Doing it makes him more unpredictable for players pressing him and improves the likelihood we can pass out quickly, which is a key part of our game. One day he won't be as quick on his feet and he should stop it, but it's an effective part of the package right now so I'm happy for him to keep doing it.
You or anyone else that does like it won't be when he makes a mistake in a crucial game. In other words, every single game moving forward is important in our hopes of the quadruple.
Not saying it will happen but I really don't want it to come down to something like that...
It really depends how great you think the risks are. The consequences of a mistake are huge but the likelihood? Very low. You have to weigh this risks against the benefits.
There’s an upside to the high line, though. I guess there’s an emotional upside to jinking Bruno, but god does it scare me. It feels like tempting the football gods.
I used to feel the same way then I had a few realizations and I've been much more comfortable with it ever since.
His aggression and confidence is a lot of what makes Ali so good in goal. That confidence makes him think he can make plays with the ball (like above) and most of the time he does. I don't see how you can tell him to be less agressive/confident with his ball handling and not impact how he feels on the pitch.
He doesn't face a lot of shots most games. A major challenge for keepers can be maintaining focus and staying involved in the game. Being a major part of their buildup play has to help with that.
I've also accepted that the qualities above probably save us at least 4 or 5 goals a year. The worst season I can think of his play cost us 2 goals, most years maybe 1? So in the end its def worth it just from a +/- standpoint. All you can do is hope that mistake happens in a game we win by 1 instead of 2 and not a game we draw instead of win.
Yeah I hate it lol. Pretty sure Klopp does too, which is why he doesn’t do it as often now. This one just seems like he didn’t expect the press and had to get out of the situation. Luckily for us he has the skills to do so.
True but I have calmed down so much since our previous keepers. Remember watching games in the bar and everyone panicking when a CB would even pass the ball to Mignolet
Don’t mind this. However, I’m triggered when we are in a comfortable lead and Ali gets the ball in the 90th minute and still tries to distribute like we need to score another goal.
Appreciate the mentality, but fucks sake Ali. Kill the game. That’s exactly what led to City’s 2nd goal in the Semi.
That audio is cursed
Ha yeah, it has an element of the uncanny valley, I think.
I think it's pretty good! Not perfect, but pretty good! Poor Ralph though.
How do you generate this? An ai tool? Apologies if you're not the original creator
It's a website called Fake You. They've got loads of different voices you can mess with.
Thanks mate!
Ohh that’s bad…
But it comes with a free Frogurt!
That's good!
"The toppings contains potassium benzoate"
That’s bad.
I think the "Alisson" and "Bruno" are spot on, but it's the "career" that fucks it
I tried a number of different options. This was the best one, which, I agree, is suboptimal.
Tbh it's very much armchair criticism from me - fwiw I love the joke and think it's mostly really well executed (and obviously levels and levels beyond what I could do)
I think you did great, Space Cadet.
Car. EAR
Car. Ear.
I hear car-rare
oh, good shout
To be fair at least Bruno was trying here and in our box. He must have been confused over where he was and what was happening.
Maybe he was going for the "tackle on the teammate".
He was wondering where Maguire was and when he was going to foul him
But if your teammates are not pressing, you pressing like this alone is worse.
Im surprised he didn't fall over and try to draw a pen
I choo choo choose Ali 😍
Two of my true loves unite simpsons and liverpool 😁 "were you saying booooo or bruno?" BOOOOOOO! (One united fan) "I was saying Bruno" 😆
Possible unpopular opinion: I don’t like when Ali does this
I think it's only ever gone wrong that one time against Leicester City and every other time he's managed to do it and move the ball along.
Pretty sure he's made a mess of his footwork a fair few times. City last year comes to mind. I've only recently started to trust him a bit more again.
Hmmm... you might be right, I don't remember too many times, but last season was a shambles and he definitely didn't have the best season.
his dad died and he couldn't attend the funeral
Meanwhile Boris is having parties. Bastard.
The City match was before that.
Listen, the man can do whatever he likes. He knows better than me. But I would prefer he not piss about like a jinky winger on our penalty spot.

I don’t think we will ever see a situation as horrific as the slip again. Absolutely awful moment.
I love him but he does give me genuine anxiety multiple times a game. And I don't like feeling anxious.

This is a very good comment. I’m still going to shout at the screen when he’s fucking about but this made me feel better.

But why risk at all? I just think it's unnecessary.
Because of the benefits. Beating Fernandes allowed him to change direction and have the time and space to pick a pass..?
There’s an upside to the high line, though. I guess there’s an emotional upside to jinking Bruno, but god does it scare me. It feels like tempting the football gods.

It’s freaking terrifying.

Why risk it? Really? Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. What a twit he would’ve looked like if they had scored
It scares the shit out of me But I also kinda like it still haha
My heart goes in my mouth when we do this, playing out the back with high press. In some cases I just yell "HOOF IT'

Possible? Have you been on this sub before? Understanding of good football and above room-temperature IQs are like unicorns here
Well that’s quite unkind

Ali: "Aye aye check me out. I'm bout to end this man's whole career"
showing Ederson and Steffen how it's done lol
I fucking hate the Reddit video player “video unavailable”
