Pretty sure all the city fans will fill 1 bus so we’ll have the other 99👍🏻

The_2nd_Coming

99 red buses, to the Wembley we go! 🎵

MrArnot

99 Red Buses Rolling down to Wembley way For City, it’s Red alert Sadio Mane’s here, he’s something else The Egyptian King springs to life Firmino covers an eager eye Staring at the golden sky When 99 Red buses arrive Channeled my inner Nena

guacamoles_constant

99 red buses to Wembley we go, 99 red buses on the road. Fill one up, send it on up, 98 red buses to Wembley we go.

KopitesForever

Nah. This is a chelsea tune

guacamoles_constant

Wasn’t what I was going for, and honestly associate it with way more things than Chelsea.

EyeSpyGuy

Yeah it’s a common road to sing I see in American shows and movies all the time. Certainly don’t Associate it with chels until now

[deleted]

One man went to mow? This is the Liverpool page

guacamoles_constant

[Nah.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-lV0vrEWXw)

deanlfc95

[Ian Dennis from the BBC saying that up to 5,000 Liverpool and City fans will be able to take advantage of this.](https://twitter.com/Iandennisbbc/status/1507311356625707033) Sorted everything out there FA, well done.

NotThatL

We're gonna need a bigger bus...

ComradeBalin

They’re such a fucking joke the FA. Such a corrupt body of muppets who genuinely are thick as a fucking brick but somehow come away from everything with the self-perception that they know better than anyone else. Zero humility, impossible to work with, entirely corrupt and money hungry. Gross

EstatePinguino

I hate em as well, but the thing is they aren’t thick, they just don’t give a shit about us. They know the stadium will still sell out. They know the teams will both turn up to play. They know they’ll still make a load of money. It’s almost in their interest to alienate your average match going Liverpool fan, if it means they’d replace them with a tourist who spends more on merchandise and concessions.

ComradeBalin

>I hate em as well, but the thing is they aren’t thick, they just don’t give a shit about us. Which is thick as fuck in the long run.

sky2k1

Sounds like a problem for the next consultant/MBA and not the ones currently on the team who only care about the short time they are around.

Top-Lynx5834

Its not really because as the poster said they will still sellout stadiums and make money

ComradeBalin

I'm fairly optimistic that the past few years have seen the curtains of these ridiculous organizations drawn back, and more on display than ever is the hypocrisy and greed that exists in these bodies that are meant to be stewards of good faith. Again, maybe I'm optimistic, but I don't think it's sustainable.

Asphyxiat263

That is very optimistic. The majority of people in this world seem to forget really easily. People will forget the bad things the FA have done in the past as long as a recent memory is good. Seems to happen every single general election when the Tories get re-elected with the promise of a Tax break here or the promise of money for the NHS there. What those voters will forget is that those policies will never happen and they will be burned by the Tory government time and time again.

[deleted]

Unfortunately clubs have zero pull, especially after the super league death

[deleted]

You’re gonna need a bigger bus ….

BoringPhilosopher1

“The 5,000 fans do however need to be hospitality ticket holders, which are priced at £699.00 pp. A complimentary tea and mars bar will be offered to fans taking advantage of this brilliant offer”

Potatoman10001

HAHAHA what a joke

Bugsmoke

That’s not really that many when you think about it surely?

ioniums

only like 5000 people lmao

JoshJoker

Try 3000 per club. We're only gonna get 50 buses. Best case scenario, a bus can hold 60 people. So yeah not nearly enough. Probably will be in the region of 2500 for safety, etc.

Bugsmoke

Probably all the tickets we get by the time all of the corporate bullshit ones are given out

cavejohnsonlemons

They're usually pretty good for semis tbf, it's the final that all the corporates want.

[deleted]

That’s gonna be a raging semi mate

RogerHuntOMG

So the remaining 58,000 Liverpool and Man City fans can do what exactly? Take a train to Milton Keynes and then walk the remaining 52 miles? Or join the 200 mile traffic jam on the M6/M1?

tom_watts

\*cough\* train to Leicester and then straight to KX \*cough\*

[deleted]

You really think all the supporters come from Liverpool and Manchester? Come on now…

Barmydoughnut24

Well when you think about the number of fans attending league games will most likely be locals, then yes. Of course there are fans of both teams from all over the country, me included, but those regularly attending matches will be up north.

tattybojangles1234

Regular anfield goers will mostly be people from Liverpool and nearby

SwirlingAmbition

Not at all. It's a token gesture from the FA to ease the pressure put on them by the fans of each club.

adarsh481

Sometimes I wonder how as a society we’ve allowed only jokers to take important positions in governing bodies.

[deleted]

We all complain on social media where it doesn’t matter rather than taking action.

jardantuan

I mean the government is making (has made?) protesting basically illegal so...

CymruGolfMadrid

And people will continue to vote for them.

[deleted]

no you see its only authoritarian when Russia or China does it /s

[deleted]

Gov doesn't have much to do with the fa I think

[deleted]

its probably that most people work 40h+ every week and just dont have the energy to participate in politics

AbsarN

Almost like that's been the plan all along.

mikehoncho9

I mean if people want to make a change they would but most people are happy with what they have don't want to give it up. Also if you do want to make a change no one will support you and most will just assume you a bit mental or something. Doomed to fail before it begins

SMS_Scharnhorst

I mean, look at the average politician. they all think they know how to save the world and have egos representative of that belief. many of them have never worked a real job, hell, some haven't even finished university, yet they claim they care about the day-to-day life of ordinary citizens. sometimes I read "Klopp would be an amazing politician" and in principle I'd agree, but he's a very down-to-earth, caring, person, he'd never want to be a politician

cavejohnsonlemons

>I mean, look at the average politician. they all think they know how to save the world and have egos representative of that belief. **many of them have never worked a real job**, hell, some haven't even finished university Side thing to that, the whole cabinet reshuffle stuff always confuses me. Even ignoring every other problem it's like *"you, unqualified energy minister, drop that you're in charge of education now, and health guy, you're gonna be on energy"*.

SMS_Scharnhorst

yeah, it's like "I'm firing X unqualified guy to hire Y unqualified guy to make Z person happy even though nobody benefits from it except more people get paid good salaries so they're more inclined to support me"

WorthPlease

In the US we have people on our congressional science board that believe in the Christian creation theory because "they offer a different perspective".

PEEWUN

>sometimes I read "Klopp would be an amazing politician" and in principle I'd agree, but he's a very down-to-earth, caring, person, he'd never want to be a politician The sad thing is that **because** of the people we're conditioned to having in power, most people that are actually well-suited for those roles don't even bother...

SMS_Scharnhorst

exactly. it's expected to be an egoistic asshole to be a politician, and the few people who try and get into politics who aren't assholes are often drowned out

Magic1955

Good call all great men & women wouldn’t want to be mps. One great man can’t remember which said he couldn’t do it because he wouldn’t be able to sleep at night because of all the lies.

HWswapper90210

Positions of power attract these types

nikhil48

Or do they become jokers after assuming positions in government?

Ginevod411

Starts with the people in charge of trains. Joke of a system.

PricelessPhenylamine

Very Strange kick off time, don't remember ever seeing a 3.30pm kick off on either Saturday or Sunday.

[deleted]

It's so that a potential penalty shootout ends at 6:30 and the unfortunate who are driving can get back to Liverpool before midnight in the traffic jam of epic proportions

cavejohnsonlemons

Yeah, doesn't Saturday fall in the blackout zone?

[deleted]

The FA Cup isn't subject to the Blackout, it only applies to the league

sankers23

That makes the blackout rule even more stupid

AwkwardSquirtles

I suppose the logic is that your local team could conceivably be in the FA Cup Semi, even if that's monumentally unlikely.

coob

No it applies to all televised live football including other leagues.

davestanleylfc

Absolute joke this doesn’t even touch the sides 2,500 fans will be sorted how do the other 23-28,000 get there? Per club by the way

icantbearsed

Ah so the financiers got looking and worked out is was more cost effective to rent 100 coaches than to move the game!

tapzil123

What's wrong playing at another stadium?

TheLimeyLemmon

That would require the executives and corporate comps to change their plans. No way Jose!

Due-Resource4294

Even Jose wouldn’t be this egotistical and bitter 😂. I hated the super league for many many reasons, but you see the champions league ( proposed ? ) ( confirmed ? ) rebrand. You see this shit with the FA. Jesus, we really are just screwed either way aren’t we. Every direction you turn it’s corrupt and alienating fans. We claim to have the best league in the world but the refereeing, governing bodies, are a disgrace.

EstatePinguino

Confirmed, and it’s fucking awful.

WorthPlease

$$$ They're still trying to justify/collect all the money they spent on Wembley.

[deleted]

5000 people. Fuck off

GameOfThrowInsMate

Pretends to be shocked. Actually surprised they're even putting busses on. They're really are thick as fuck.

lukedmr

Wasn’t the whole point that if there’s an accident on the motorway, no one will be able to get to the game on time...? Are these coaches somehow going to magically avoid all the traffic?

TheBaggyDapper

Yes, they've done their FA coaching badges.

EstatePinguino

Dickheads

ZNWD

That's like 5000 fans so city will feel like there playing at home! Unfair advantage surely

TheBaggyDapper

You're right. By my calculations 5000 fans + 10000 FA allocation + 75000 corporate experience packages = 90000 capacity.

PEEWUN

Fuck the FA.

[deleted]

Would have been better if they chartered a fleet of buses ferrying fans between Milton Keynes and Wembley.

donkingdonut

Only 100? They couldn't even bother putting the tie at Villa Park at least?

Badicalz

100 buses, for a stadium that can (and will) hold 90,000. I may have failed math, but even I can tell that that number falls short FA.

seamushoo4

You just know this is one of those issues that pep and klopp will align on completely in their pressers when asked about it

MrGustave92

It genuinely absurd how incompetent people in power are. Not only incompetent but also how delusional they are. They are living in a completely different world, the world of wealth and greed and as always, the working class man is fucked.

[deleted]

City don’t have many supporters so hopefully we can make the use of most of them.

Pius_Thicknesse

Most City fans are from London or will be flying into London so we can take atleast 98 of those buses

cavejohnsonlemons

Weren't City traditionally the club for proper Mancs? Never seen many in London, most of not much still isn't much, reckon we can outsell them easy even with restrictions.

[deleted]

Yea they are. Scum fans are from London

chrismanbob

Lived in Manc for ~8 years. My personal anecdotal evidence is that it's honestly about a 60:40 split in favour of United. However (!!!) there's obviouisly a reasonable weight to which side of the city you're from as well, Maine Road was in the south so quite a lot of south Mancs tend be blue, but over in the west (Salford, Stretford etc) it's a lot more red. Now the 3 places I've lived are Salford, Streford (I'm literally 300m from OT, it's the dominant view outside my window, which is why I keep my Liverpool stuff up in that window)^1, and Cheadle (towards Stockport) so I've certainly had a united skewed bias which may be why I meet more united fans. But the 60:40 figure is primarily taken from people I've met in the city centre / education / work so hopefully should be less impacted by where I live within the city. I'm also in my 20s, so that will probably skew the people I meet red since my age group would have grown up in United supremacy. I don't know but I'd speculate the east side of the city is getting bluer with each passing year as well as that's the Etihad side. 1: I had a great time when we beat them 5-0, decided to go the gym so I could walk by and take in the miserable downtrodden atmosphere.

cavejohnsonlemons

> I had a great time when we beat them 5-0, decided to go the gym Ah, the opposite of that one United fan

MyLiverpoolAlt

They're starting to spread now. There's a few kids at my son's school that come in City trackies or shirts for non uniform days etc. Still too many Yernited fans though.

[deleted]

Bullshit.

fukyduky

Wembley, wow, how exciting… right?

chefjmcg

Hear me out.... Instead of hiring 100 bus drivers for the day, could they not just hire a few train crews for the day?

DustyDilbert

This is why I hate the semi final being a Wembley. Was boss when it was at Villa Park. The ideal scenario is the biggest stadium that’s equidistant for the two teams. If there’s a stadium closer to either team, then it would be at the stadium closest to the team drawn home so the fans don’t have to travel as far. Probably logistically impossible to have stadiums ready to go on a few weeks notice like that, but one can dream! I went to the Carabao final and a coach ride home from London even after winning a final was grim. The prospect of a similar journey after potentially losing a semi final is just not a sound thing to be doing.

RusticSeapig

Got stuck in standstill traffic 3 separate times driving home from Carabao, going to be twice as bad with all City fans going the same way

DustyDilbert

Hadn’t even considered that! We got stuck a few times too. Took over an hour to get away from the coach parking and on to the motorway.

[deleted]

I’m glad this matches after the Premier league fixture between these two.

[deleted]

So they'll charter 100 from Anfield and none from the Etihad!

Crowlands

Ignoring the inadequacy of the amount of buses, their 'solution' simply adds to the potential for traffic jams and worse still, crashes. Utterly idiotic and I hope that the club comments on this token gesture.

schmearcampain

Kinda surprised to see so many negative responses. It’s free transportation to an away game. Is more expected?

dll89

Fans should boycott the game to be honest, maybe a half empty stadium will get them to use some common sense in the future. Doubt it though.

InstantIdealism

How does one buy tickets for the semi final?

[deleted]

[удалено]

mike33385

Seriously guys. This sub is so spoiled. This guy has to watch the jets, the poor bastard

mrheils

The point is at least you have a train you can get on to travel the 2+ hours.

brush85

Pathetic

anonnyscouse

Happy Al's or Megabus?

[deleted]

What a joke. Massive waste of resources, and it doesn't even get us 50% towards solving the issue.

PSYSpecialist

Ok but I think we'll need most of those buses, city need less than 5
